Anna Paquin leaves her handprint in Poland

Anna Paquin is in Gdańsk, Poland for the premiere of her movie “The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler”.

The film tell the story of Irena Sendler (Anna Paquin) a Polish woman who saved the lives of over 2500 Jewish children by helping them escape from the ghetto in Warsaw. Showing this film now in Poland has an extra significance because this year is the 70th anniversary of the beginning of WWII.

This afternoon Anna, her co-star Marcia Gay Harden and director John Kent Harrison left their hand prints on the Alley of Stars in Gdańsk.

True Blood fan Ania was present at the event. She and her friends prepared an album with information about Poland and a letter for the True Blood cast and crew, they had the opportunity to present it to Anna.

Anna was really surprised that they have heard about the show and even more surprised about the gift (which she looked at closely when she got into the car). She looked very natural and pretty and had really high heels which was a challenge to walked in on that pavement. Anna was really nice to everybody, she shook everybody’s hands, she signed autographs and posed for photos with the fans.

The Presidents, Prime Ministers and other important guests who were invited for the 70th anniversary of World War II to Gdańsk were also among attendants of the movie premiere.
