Of course great for Anna, but I’d really like to see our Stephen start to get nominated for some of this stuff — he’s such a gifted actor!!

* sigh * I’ve no idea who does the nominations for these myriad awards (it seems more of them pop up like daisies every year); however, the snubs are egregious. I most certainly do not begrudge Paquin a thing. She is richly deserving of her nomination and more power to her; but it has been consistently stressed to us that this is an ensemble piece that isn’t simply about Sookie Stackhouse. Except when awards season rolls around, apparently…
Sookie shares the airtime — for better or for worse — with a host of other quirky Bon Temps residents who bizarrely seem to disappear into the ether the minute major awards are in the offing. Paquin’s performance often hinges on Moyer’s. Without him, her scenes are not nearly as resonant. The only other character who brought as much out of AP was Gran (the ever magnificent Lois Smith). All of these characters bounce off and feed off of each other (no pun intended) like particles in an atom. SM, NE, and RK all deserve major kudos for their exceptional work in the first Season. Why can’t they create an ensemble/cast award? I confess, it eludes me.

That’s why it was such a travesty that the cast wasn’t nominated for the ensemble acting award at the SAG awards. Hopefully next year.
And Sterling, hope you have insider information about Stephen & TB’s noms at Emmy’s!!!
Fingers crossed & crossed again…
