At a recent HBO executive session, the question was asked about Alan Ball’s new pilot for HBO and whether he will remain on True Blood if it gets picked up.
The answer according to hitfix.com is: “The new Alan Ball pilot will shoot at the end of the month. If they pick that pilot up, he would still remain on “True Blood” on a day-to-day basis. That would still be his primary responsibility.”

Thanks for the news, I hope this is true. I was worried about this, I can’t help but think that the quality of “True Blood” would suffer if Alan Ball was no longer involved on a full-time basis.

This is good to hear. I was hoping so, but it’s lovely to have Alan’s day-to-day presence and leadership confirmed.

Thank goodness. While TB has many talented folks it needs AB at the helm to guide the story along.

So glad that Alan is going to stay,as i believe if he left the show
would not be the same.

Alan Ball has stated several times that working on True Blood is the most fun he’s ever had in his professional life. I can’t see him giving it up, so I am very glad to hear this. It wouldn’t be the same without him.

Yes, I’m happy and relieved. When I first heard about a new show,
I was worried. This is so good to hear.
Alan Ball, you are the captain of the ship. You need to man the helm
and steer for TB to stay as fabulous as it is.
Thank you for staying with us!
