Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media has been awarded to Slumdog Millionaire according to Grammy.com.

This is the Award to the Artist(s) and/or Producer(s) of a majority of the tracks on the album, or to the individual(s) actively responsible for the concept and musical direction and for the selection of artists, songs and producers, as applicable.

The True Blood soundtrack album was up against some really tough competition with the other nominees. We still think that True Blood has the best music of all TV shows and want to send our thanks to Alan Ball, Gary Calamar and Kevin Weaver for producing such a great album.

The nominations were:

Slumdog Millionaire
Cadillac Records
Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds
True Blood
Twilight

Well, bummer. I was planning on watching tonight and cheering for TB. Don’t think I’ll bother now. We all know how great the music is. It’s such an integral part of the show. Kudos to TB for its fantastic musical offerings and for this amazing album.

Shame it didn’t win. I do love one song from the Slumdog Millionaire: “Jai Ho” with the Pussycat Dolls. Check it out, it’s really really good. I’m watching anyway because of my girl, Beyoncé :-D

I adore the TB soundtrack. All of the theme music for Bill and Sookie is wonderful, haunting, powerful and beautiful.
Congratulations to Nathan Barr for the nomination.

Miya, it wasn’t Nathan’s CD that was nominated. It was the compilation CD of songs from the episodes that Gary Calamar chose, including Bad Things, etc. At any rate, I too love Nathan’s music and think the choices of songs for the episodes was also terrific and deserved a nod.

Yes Nathan is amazing in his choices and compositions. I wish he would have won.
