True Blood’s Vampire Sheriff, Alexander Skarsgård is back in Los Angeles and will attend the GQ Men of the Year awards in Los Angeles November, 18 (tonight).
Alexander, who has been voted the Sexiest Man Alive in Sweden for the past five years, flew into LAX airport Tuesday night from Stockholm, where he was filming the indie flick Puss.
Skarsgård is being honored Wednesday at the GQ awards for being one of the Men Who Saved HBO. Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten are the other men. The event is to be held at the Chateau Marmont Hotel tonight and it’s the 14th annual celebration of the event.
Alexander stays in shape by lifting weights and running on the treadmill. He says he tries to work out 5 days a week because he “doesn’t like being so skinny.”
Alexander will begin shooting season 3 of True Blood early December. The first season of the hit series received widespread critical acclaim and won several awards, including a Golden Globe and an Emmy in 2008.

OMG… Even dirty and scruffy from the long flight he looks soooo hot!! I was wondering how he was going to grow his hair for season 3 – It’s much shorter than when season 2 ended. We have already heard Alan Ball say Eric would be practically naked in episode 1, so we know he will definitely be in episode 1. For continuity, will he have to wear a wig?
I hope someone will be at the GQ event and snag some pics so we can see him all dolled-up. Can’t wait for season 3!!

I totally prefer him dirty and scruffy, still couldn’t understand his bow tie/red suede pants outfit in Paris….
The short hair — exactly what I’ve been wondering about. Another Pam hair make over?
He did a naked scene in Season 2(in Sookie’s dream) but it was nowhere near showing as much of him as Ryan in Season 1(non-existed wardrobe!); or even Sam in both seasons. What’s up w/ that?! :-)

Regarding his hair being slightly shorter when they start filming, I don’t think it will really show that much because his hair was styled brushed straight back from his face so the only way the length would show would be shots from the back, and even then, would it show all that much as to be distracting? I seriously doubt he’ll be put in a wig again on this show, since they worked so hard to get him out of the wig and AB has made it clear in statements that Alex “was a prisoner of that wig”.
I wish they’d ease up on the whole “hair has to look like the character described in the books” thing and set aside the vamp lore in that regard. It’s clear that with the lady vamps and their styled hair that vamps don’t have to keep the same hair length they died with, so why make the men do it. They’ve let it go for Alex, so I hope they’ll let it go for Stephen. He looks more youthful and expressive with shorter, lighter hair. His darker longer hair is almost a distraction from his appearance. Stephen kind of hinted in an interview that his hair might be different in S3, so I hope we see Bill wearing Stephen’s natural hair.
And as for Anna’s hair, it’s a tragedy what they’re doing to her hair, in my opinion. How can they keep bleaching her dark hair so blonde, year after year? Her hair looks to be at least six inches shorter than the first season, plus it’s layered, and all this loss of length has been alluded to be because of breakage. I say, let her hair go dark and long, and let the fans get used to it. Why does Sookie simply have to be blonde?
*climbing down off soapbox* What a rant. I’m pooped out now.

Looks good. But I don’t like the “Men Who Saved HBO” thing.

I don’t care for that “Men Who Saved HBO” either. How about something like “Best Actor in an HBO Original Series?”

What about Stephen Moyer!! If it wasn’t for him walking into Merlotte’s Bar and starting the whole thing off, we wouldn’t have had a season 21 How unfair!

Stephen Moyer may have been asked to attend, but he is not in LA right now. We don’t know anything other than Alex is going to the event and is “ONE OF THE MEN” to be honored. Reportedly, Stephen Moyer and Ryan Kwanten are among “the men” who saved HBO.

this is the first time i have ever seen him in a really good outfit. i never comment on alex posts here. but his obvious attention to his wardrobe struck me as very comment worthy. i still don’t want him, but his clothes are looking fly in this pic. he usually wears something a bit ( or a lot haha ) off to me.

Looking good Alex!

Stephen, Alex, and Ryan are all pictured in the GQ layout, and they were all invited to the awards. Stephen and Ryan are not in L.A. and could not attend. My question is….what about Sam. I tell ya, the shifter gets NO respect, and he’s hot, too.
