Anna Paquin was on the Graham Norton Show on BBC1 last week and in this video clip she was treated to a performance by some South African fans, “The Brother’s Streep” singing a song they have written about her. You can download the song on their website. Really, really funny.
Then, she enjoys Mitchell and Webb’s rants on smoking, coffee and nudists

isn’t she on this monday?

That’s what I thought…

Anna is lovely and quite a good sport here. The bits about the coffee and smoking were funny, but I think surprising her with that song wasn’t very nice. I think Bill needs to go all vampire on a certain talk show host.

Graham Norton always does stuff like that with his guest, so I’m pretty sure Anna was prepared for anything he would dish up. I thought the song was cute and funny and everyone had a great laugh.
Anna was beautiful as ever and I can hardly wait to see the full show on BBC America, I hope it shows soon.

Exactly!
What I’m wondering about….why do they pause so often in everything she does?? LOL

Everyone had a great laugh, but at her expense. That’s fine if she was prepared for it. I’m not familiar with the show, so if it has that kind of reputation, then I guess she’d have to expect getting ribbed. Anna got it some funny retorts, she was great. “Can I send you the invoice from my shrink?” excellent line.

Yeah, but they didn’t laugh AT her, they laughed with her.
Anna is a tough girl, she can handle it. If not, she could always kick his ass….you know she could do it, LOL!

I’m with you on this, Wiwa. She’s only 27 years old and just because she’s successful, it doesn’t mean she’s always loaded with self-confidence. I didn’t like them saying she gets silly looks on her face. I don’t think that would feel okay for very many of us if we were actors/actresses.

She only looked silly when you pause. They explained thatö. I rthink everyone looks silly when you pause. Sometimes you have to stop taking yourself seriously. And she did laugh so obviously she thought it was funny

And they are obviously fans so they didn’t mean anything bad with it and it wasn’t ment to mock her. Which I think she understood. She’s got a sense of humor for sure

I see nothing wrong with the song. I don’t she minded. The song wasn’t mean and he explained before han that it was just when you paused. It’s all good fun. She was laughing alot, haha

Funny, funny videos! Anna is a good sport and I think she was a very surprised about the song. She is just lovely…..love her dress. I like Graham.

Very funny videos!

OMG, that was hilarious! Anna looked so cute, I don’t think she knew what to think about the song. She looked like she was blushing a bit to me, the song really did catch her off guard. All in all, by the way she was laughing so hard, I think she knew it was all done in good fun! Anna was a very good sport about it. Loved her dress, and shoes…

Anna always dresses so beautifully for her interviews. She looks gorgeous. She was a very good sport here and seemed to be enjoying the song. What a treat to see her on Graham Norton. Thanks so much for posting these, Lynn.

A N N A always scrunching your face that way
P A and Q, born in 1982
U I and N, Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin
Born on the 24th of July
her dad’s name is Brian… one hell of a guy
Her dog’s name was Jessie, a golden retriever
her parents split up but the dog would never leave her
Her eyes are brown and so is her hair
her starsign is Leo but I doubt you’d care
She’s been reported to say: “Bradley asked me to show you around this morning”**
but that’s out of context makes no sense to me
A N N A always scrunching your face that way
P A and Q, born in 1982
U I and N, Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin
She played Flora in The Piano
and she was Amy Alden in Fly Away Home
There she got clean in her first shower scene
but you never saw nothing ’cause she was only 14
She was all that, she was all the rage
though she’s never done a movie with Nicholas Cage
In love with Jamal in Finding Forester
She stared with Edward Norton in 25th hour
And did you know, she also plays the cello
but not in a movie as far we know
A N N A always scrunching your face that way
P A and Q, born in 1982
U I and N, Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin
She played Rogue in the X-men
she almost killed her boyfriend when she kissed him
And just when you thought her mutant days were free
she’s back to playing Rogue in X2 and 3
And now Anna’s moved to HBO
she’s livin’ it up on that True Blood show
You finally see everything, as she goes to fourth base
but we’ll still never forget that silly face, that silly, silly, silly face
One more time…
A N N A always scrunching your face that way
P A and Q, born in 1982
U I and N, Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin, Anna Paquin

Thanks for posting those lyrics–hilarious! I thought the song was adorable, so clever. Anna handled it well–when I see her in interviews I get the impression it’s not her favorite thing, she seems a bit reserved, which is actually kind of refreshing. She seemed to get a kick out of the Brothers Streep–quite a nice tribute! I’m definitely going to check out their website.

Oh, poor Anna!! I know the song was all good fun, but she has mentioned before in interviews she feels awkward looking at herself on-screen, thinking she makes weird expressions. I don’t think it was very nice to catch her off-guard with such a thing.
But she’s a total pro and handled it wonderfully.
I loved how her New Zealand accent slipped through every now and then :)

Very funny. I think she enjoyed it as well even if she was the tiniest bit embarassed. I think this will air here next saturday night because tonight the GN show has different guest listed on my cable menu.
She looks grand and I noticed her accent was much more pronounced than usual. when in Rome…
[Reply]
Yeah, I would like to see the whole thing

How cute that her kiwi accent came out once in a while…especially towards the end of the first video when she said, “weird”…she’s absolutely blooming here. thanks for sharing <3
[Reply]
I don’t know if it was because of the circumstances she was in or not, ir probably was, but she seems more bubbly when she talks a bit with her kiwi accent, LOL!
[Reply]
I thought this was delightful! The Brothers Streep obviously adore Anna. What a nice thing to do, in making a song for her. Her response was too precious… I was laughing along side of her.
Thanks for posting it Lynn, it was just adorable.

When I heard she was going on Graham N Show; I did expect some jokes but that so that funny. Anna took it so well, nice to see her laughting her socks off.

Actually being of British decent and a kiwi myself i think it was a hilarious skit and I bet Anna loved it and took it in the funny way it was intended. It was hilarious.

Interviewers in the USA don;t have the sense of Humour British & Kiwi and Aussie interviewers have. These interviews done by Steve & Anna are just the norm there.

I thought it very funny! She did not look put out! I loved her dress and shoes – Anna always looks lovely!!

i find that this guy didn’t patronise her. like many talk shows here. They just came out with it in a light- hearted, straight-forward easy going fun interview. i think she had a blast.
