Mark Malkin from EOnline! spoke with Evan Rachel Wood, the queen of Louisiana who will make her entrance in Sunday’s episode of True Blood.
According to Wood her character’s sexual preference is discutable.
“She’s not necessarily a lesbian,” Wood, 21, recently explained to me. “Her human partner is a girl, but I’m pretty sure she goes both ways [laughs]. I think vampires are like that in general.”
I’m not sure why I am talking to you because I don’t think you’re allowed to tell me anything, right?
[Laughs] I can tease! What do you want to know?
I want to know who you are going to have sex with. Are you more Eric or Bill, and what kind of drama is Queen Sophie-Ann starting?
I figured that those would be the questions! Who do I have sex with? Well, I don’t know if I am having sex with anyone yet, but I certainly have a steamy scene with someone that I don’t think you’d really expect. So it will be a little fun.
So no Eric or Bill? Because I think that is what everyone is assuming.
Um, I’m not saying anything. I can’t say either way.
How did you end up on the show?
I watched the first season and loved the show, so I got in touch with [series creator] Alan Ball and said, “Keep an eye out for anything that might pop up.” I thought it was a long shot, but then later on I got a call saying they needed a queen.
Did you know anything about the queen beforehand?
I didn’t. I said yes, even before I read the script. I didn’t really care.
This past Sunday’s episode was so crazy. I was just watching it and going, “What the f–k!”
That’s pretty much how I feel after every episode. [Laughs] Just wait until the last episodes! There’s a lot that is going to happen. It’s going to be insane. Those were the only scripts that I read, and I was just thinking to myself (a) how are they going to film this, (b) how are they going to get away with this, and (c) just what they hell is going on?
Did you have to get naked yet, because everyone on the show gets naked?
I can’t say I do just yet. But they are bringing me back next season, so it’s always a possibility. It’s kind of inevitable.
So are you Team Eric or Team Bill?
I would say, Team Alex—Eric! Whoops. [Laughs]
Have you seen the clip of Alex’s shower scene in Hundtricket?
I am not going to lie. Yes I have.
He is just stunning.
I have to agree with you. [Laughs] That’s another great thing about my job—all of my scenes are with Bill and Eric! I was surrounded by beautiful people constantly.
Now, I do want to ask you about the Spider-Man musical. What’s the latest?
I don’t know a lot, but as far as I know, it’s still on.
Any truth to reports that you told producers you were backing out so you could be free to do some movies?
No! I didn’t say that! It’s going to be great! Whatever happens, it’s going to be great!

This is pure speculation because I don’t know what will happen, but If you watch the trailer for the upcoming episode and see who Eric is talking to and what he says, and then you read this article – we can kind of guess who Eric is going to contact. It would be funny if he ran into Bill.

I’m thinking this might be the case. If you watch a little further on in the promo, theres a scene where he’s talking to someone and there is water reflecting off of his face (so I’m assuming he’s at the Queen’s house) and the person he’s talking to has dark hair (so I’m assuming it’s going to be Bill).

well, i think neither bill or eric know that each one will be meeting at the Queens. (my speculation only) and Eric will somehow find out about bills plan (ie., the books) and tell sookie.

Wow that was subtle, Team Alex….whoops. Please was she trying to hint that she is with him, Alex seems like a smart guy & if he is involved with ERW that is not a smart move at all.
She is an actress that seems to find trouble & has a very high profile as a partygoer who likes to live a little wild & Alex should watch his next step if this is true.

Agreed. I have a friend who worked on Across the Universe. Said she was nice enough, but is a wild and crazy party girl who likes to create drama. If he’s dating her, he better watch his step. Just the comment shows she wants the attention and speculation.

Europeans tend to be much looser in their interpretations of relationships and have fewer qualms about ‘partying’ in any of its forms. They tend to not look at someone’s ‘reputation’ but accept them as they are in the moment. (Michael Jackson’s popularity in England is an example of this) Just my take. If Alex is having a little fun, who’s to blame him. She’s a pretty girl.

It’s a generalization, not a prejudice. It’s true of the Europeans I’ve known and observed. The whole point was that Alex can date whoever he wants and ERW is a pretty girl. Sometimes the impressions people give or the reputation they have doesn’t mean as much to someone with a different attitude or set of values.

It sounds like the actress may want to do a sex scene with Alex, but it’s all up to Allan Ball and it would have to make sense in the story.

Why is it that the makeup artists make the female vampires look all sexy and healthy when they have made Bill look like crap.

I really don’t care who’s team ERW is on, I don’t think her portrayal as an 1000 vampire queen was very effective. Even though she was made vampire as a teenager, I think the nuance of her performance was more that of a teenager than a queen. Jessica’s first meeting with Hoyt and Godric’s greeting by his nest upon his return from the FotS had more poise.
Why would the queen greet her subject with a bloody mouth? ERW has the look but not the poise.
She is playing what is called “deep game.”
She has different scenario’s she juggling; Sookie, Bill, Eric and Hadley and who knows what else! So I hope the immature picture she painting (playing Yahtzee, lining up her potential meals)is just another one of her games.
