Remember Season 1, when Rene ran a muck in Bon Temps killing all those women who had relationships with vampires? Michael Raymond-James, who played Rene, is now in a new show about private eyes called “Terriers” which is scheduled to air in September on the FX channel. Below is part of an article about the new program.

If Terriers turns out to be FX’s next hit, it will be more in spite of the name than because of it.

Not that there’s anything wrong with terriers, as dogs and pets. It’s just that the show is about two buddies, played by Donal Logue and True Blood Season 1 serial killerMichael Raymond-James, who run a low-rent, unlicensed detective agency. And the title doesn’t exactly scream “private eye.”

So why choose it? “We were looking for the clearest, most understandable name possible,” jokes producer Shawn Ryan, “and Terriers immediately popped out.”

Yes, it’s vague, he admits. “But that didn’t hurt The Sopranos.”

Like their characters, the two stars are work partners and friends, having bonded over their mutual fondness for Jack Kerouac when they worked together on the NBC show Life. And to add to the bonding, they shared an apartment in San Diego while filming Terriers. “It was kind of on 24/7 the whole time,” says Logue. “It really kind of helped the whole endeavor we had.”
