Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer will not be sitting down to a formal dinner of turkey and yams tomorrow.
In an interview airing tonight on Entertainment Tonight, Paquin says, “I’m not American, so Thanksgiving is not really a huge tradition in my household. And my fiancé is English. We’re going to be in Puerto Rico, so I think I’m going to lie on a beach and start working on my tan.”
Anna, a Canadian who grew up in New Zealand, goes on to say, “Things in my life right now are so incredibly amazing that sometimes I can’t quite believe it’s all really happening. I have a lot to be thankful for and I’m very grateful for all the things that have landed on my lap!”

Lying on a beach sure beats cooking in the kitchen. It’s lovely that Anna and Stephen have some couple time in Puerto Rico.

So happy for her. As a kiwi thanksgiving doesn’t mean much to me either but I always go to one of my friends place & participate in the holiday

I absolutely love that picture of Anna and Stephen. I’m so happy that they’re happy. I hope knowing so many people around the world are rooting for them helps rather than puts pressure on them.

Thanks Shad. I was hoping that she would be able to get over to PR. I guess filming for The Romantics is over? They start next week on TB!! Yippee!!!

I figured they wouldn’t celebrate Thanksgiving unless they happened to be in the states at the time. Thanksgiving is such a great holiday though cuz it lacks some of the religious baggage the other holidays have. You sit with family and you’re thankful. Very simple and very very American.
I love this picture of them together. It’s just great. One of the better ones I’ve seen. Their happiness just jumps off the picture doesn’t it?

did anyone see the interview on et/can they upload it on youtube?
can’t wait to see her talk about stephen!

I watched ET last evening–saw a piece on “The Romantics”, but the castmembers talked about their characters and the fun of working together, mostly. Of course, Katie got to talk about Tom and Suri, but there was nothing about Anna and Stephen. (Anna didn’t get to say that much, actually, though she looked great.) I noticed tonight’s show has a segment on celebrities’ Thanksgivings, so maybe they’ll show the interview with Anna saying what (and who)she’s thankful for.

I don’t know if I too much care for the way she just had to say I’m not American, and my fiance’ is English, so I don’t really celebrate Thanksgiving” Well that’s all fine that you are what you are, but it sounds sort of turned up the nose at Americans to me. Just remember Ms. Paquin without good amount of us, “AMERICANS” your little tail wouldn’t have success, money, or a stable paying job without all the fan support that’s given to you with video sales, and show ratings and all from us “AMERICANS”. So if you don’t celbrate Thanksgiving that’s one thing, but don’t be so quick to make it clear that you’re not one of us, and even had throw in that your fiance’ isn’t either. I don’t know just sounds a little CANADIAN snobbish to me, her answer here. If she has so much to be thankful for, it wouldn’t hurt to just go ahead and say that she’s celebrating Thanksgiving by simply thinking about what she’s thanksful for, instead of shunning it all together, just because it’s American. It’s not like it’s a religious holiday, geez, Anna!

I think you worded your POV a little strongly, but I do agree with your opinion that saying you don’t celebrate TG because you are not American sounds kind of snobby. After all, she does live here,( and so does Stephen), at least part of the time, and they both are enjoying the benefits of our country, so they do have a lot to be thankful for. I’m going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she didn’t mean it to come out that way. At least I hope so.

I’ve alway’s liked Anna Paquin but I do have to agree, no matter where you are from, or were “born” with this economy! HeH! Be thankful honey! Or just don’t bring up Thanksgiving at all next time ;) BTW I can’t wait until next season! I hope it aims a little bit more towards the books… But Alan Ball is great, bring on more Sex & Violence Babe :) And Alcide & Eric W00t! ….

Wow! People are pissed because she pointed out that she is not American and doesnt celebrate an American holiday?! Do you get mad when Americans who are filming in various countries dont celebrate Boxer Day or such? Lay off…I believe she mentioned how she is greatful for the her life right now, same thing! Love you Anna and Stephen. I wont hold it against you if you dont bbq on the 4th of July!!!!
