Yesterday we reported that Stephen Moyer was bucked off a horse while shooting a scene for episode 2 of True Blood’s third season. Apparently he landed on his knees and his good knee took most of the blow. Stephen tells us in a message: “a stuntman and myself were unseated when the horse we were on lost its footing and we, of course, landed on the one piece of concrete within a 200 yard radius… as did Taco, the horse.. everyone is OK if a little bruised…x”

Thank goodness we heard from him. I love how he is able to inject humor into a serious situation like this when we are all going crazy over his well being. Taco is an unusual name for a horse, my neighbor’s dog is named Taco too LOL. Please Stephen, take it easy.

Yes, typical Stephen humour! I am glad Stephen, Taco and unnamed stuntman are all Ok, shaken but bruised! LOL!

Thank you, Shad, for posting. Good to hear from Stephen. Trust him to inject some humor into the situation. I’m glad everyone is okay and hope those bruises heal quickly. Take care of yourself, Stephen.

I am so relieved that he is OK. I was really worried. So glad to hear that it wasn’t his back and on his “good knee”, but let’s hope that he doesnt’ now have two “bad knees”! I’m also glad that we heard it from the “horses mouth” and that the fall was purely an accident and it wasn’t a badly behaved horse. I too, hope the stunt man is OK, but they are more used to topples and know how to fall so as not to get hurt, so I bet he’s not as bad.
Anyway, great news to get up to.

Thanks for posting. Ouch! I’m glad Stephen, the stuntman & the horse are all OK. But as a horse owner and equestrian who’s taken her share of spills over the years, I know from experience that Stephen will be stiff and achey for a few days. He’s lucky he didn’t crack his kneecap.

Thanks for keeping us up to date by posting this. Such a relief that the injuries to all are minor. Hate to think what could have happened. Damn that sneeky concrete.

Whew! Thank goodness he’s ok!

So relieved to get confirmation that he is ok. Glad to hear the stunt man and horse are ok as well. I was very anxious and worried.
Thanks Shad for the update.

So glad to hear that Stephen, the stuntman and horse are all okay. Sounds like a nasty fall that could have been much worse.

I’m glad everyone is okay. While spills from horses are common, they can also be tragic sometimes depending on how you go down and whether the horse comes down on top of you.
And wouldn’t you know there would be some tiny piece of concrete they’d land on. Isn’t that always how it is? Murphy’s Law is alive and well on the TB set!
Stephen is a wonderful horseman, since I’ve seen him ride in other movies. Adn he’s one of the few actors I’ve ever seen who can drive a horse as well.

Glad to see the horse didn’t buck him off, as previously reported. However, I do believe the on-site tech adviser shouldn’t put two riders on the same horse on anything less than flat ground and at a slow forward movement. Two men on one horse is a heavy load for the horse. The horse can still do movements involving its large muscles but when it comes to balancing the load on uneven ground thus using its smaller muscles, the risk of falling increases.

Glad Stephen let us know he’s mending and stuntman and Taco are also well. Be careful Stephen when doing stunts, you gave us all a scare.

It was kind of Stephen to let us worried fans know that he and all involved are okay–so glad to hear this. Thanks so much for keeping us posted, and take care, Stephen!

Why was the stuntman riding with him?
