Billsbabe Thellou has compiled all the best parts of tonight’s Golden Globes Red Carpet coverage of the True Blood cast. In the video, we see interviews of Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer together with separate interviews of both Alexander Skarsgård and Ryan Kwanten. Thanks Lou!

At the risk of being uncharitable, the red carpet interviewers get worse every year on every network – the most insufferable being NBC. (Although TVGuide’s “English Accent” question to Ryan was so cringe-inducing it could have been on an episode of Punk’d.)
I’m bummed TB went home empty handed, but it was fun to see everyone out and looking great: Anna, Stephen and Alex looked swank and smokin’!

Thanks Lou and Lynn for posting. When you see what idiots some of the interviewers are, it is astounding. The actors are to be commended on how well they keep themselves so composed and polite. I imagine they walk away just shaking their heads at the monkeys with the mics. I am sorry that might be an insult to monkeys.

Poor monkeys! LOL.
I was banging my head against the wall when she tried to justify what she had said. If they hire nincompoops on TV I could be a shoe-in (although I’d never say anything asinine like THAT!).

BBB, I have no doubt you could do a far superior job and look beautiful in the process. Unfortunately I do not think they hire people with a functioning brain. I have no idea how the actors tolerate it. I guess this where their acting skills would really come in handy.

Poor Ryan – he seems to always get the short end of the stick with these interviews. I am chalking it up to the blonde girl being nervous in meeting him and she got tongue-tied…. otherwise it’s unthinkable that they would hire someone that appears , not so bright.
Why not hire a good interviewer instead of going for the flash unless they are going for a PUNK’D type of thing.

You make a very good point about interviewers. Why do they hire them so much for their looks and style and not so much for their substance and ability?
Ryan carried himself with poise and confidence, regardless of the fumbles of the interviewers. He impressed me with his flexible and even positive viewpoint about the rain.
Alexander pleasantly answered the same high-level questions he’s always asked about Sweden vs L.A. Stephen was polite and charming.
My big complaint however was that Seacrest failed to ask Anna about her nominations for best actress in two categories and preferred instead to pry into Stephen/Anna’s private life with persistent questions about when their real-life chemistry started. Wow. Three cheers for Anna for good-naturedly shutting the door in his face. What happened in that interview should never happen. Not sure why Seacrest was so poorly prepared. Did his showrunners tell him to do that, were his interview questions sanctioned by this bosses? Whose idea was it to take such a route? I’ve a mind to write a letter or two about that interview. Not sure I will, I’ve never done that sort of thing before but I might this time.

Seacrest asked EVERYONE a personal question.
He was very forward with Mariah at the beginning and end of her interview with him.
He asked Fergie & Josh about WHY they renewed their vows, “What was the impetus?” – IMHO, You cannot get more personal than that, in light of the tabloid gossip about Josh. They handled themselves beautifully and answered the question.
He had that poor woman, Jane Lynch, whom was also nominated, watch a video of her getting splattered by birdshit at her first award appearance.
So I tend to uderstand what you say Selle, but disagree that his interview with Anna & Steve was a one off. It was not. His innocuous question about their engagement ( as far as I am concerned ) was nothing compared to those things above.
IMO, It could have been handled better than to put “BABY” in a corner. AS I said , I would have like to have heard from him – he always has such fantastic quips and biting wit!
You can watch those vids on Youtube.

Hi Sterling,
I didn’t say it was a “one-off”. And IMO, Seacrest’s behavior was inexcusable, regardless of how many victims he made squirm.
I thought it was handled just fine. The question to them as a couple and Anna’s within her bounds to have answered on their behalf. They were asked about their engagement and Stephen answered. Then they were asked when their chemistry started in real life, and that’s where Anna took umbrage.
I gotta be honest, and maybe it’s a geographical or cultural difference, but my immediate interpretation of that question is synonymous with being asked “when did you two hookup offstage?”
What do you feel would have been a better way of saying “I’m not going to tell you the answer to such a personal question”?

Thanks so much Lou for putting that together and Lynn for posting!! Enjoyed watching that. I love to hear Stephen and Ryan speak. :) Stephen, Ryan, and Alex all looked smashing!!!

I agree, the interviewers were not the best or the audio. It was great to see them, and new photos and videos.

I am probably going to get myself into trouble but I wish Anna would take back seat at times and learn a PR lesson or two from Stephen. Of the two of them he appears to be much better at dealing with people and I bet he could have handled the sensitive questions much more gracefully and tactfully than she did and still have left the rather silly and annoying interviewer feeling that he had a great experience with both of them. She sure didn’t seem to want to let him talk very much which I must admit I found somewhat disappointing. The interview with poor Ryan was awful at times, but he really was a gentleman and made the best of it.

I understand your POV, however, I have to disagree. First, Stephen deferred to Anna to answer.
Second, this was her big night. She was double-nominated for best actress and she should have been the focal point there. I was insulted by Seacrest’s persistence with a very personal question. What should an actress do in that situation? Should she be pressured to deliver the goods on her most personal moments because the interview hammers her with the same question over and over?
Anna is an Academy Award winning, Golden Globe winning actress who should not be hammered like that when she says “no comment”. **climbs down off soap box**

The way I observed it, he did not defer to her, but instead was cut off. ( 2-3 times no less) Watch the video.
If it was her big night perhaps she should have done the Red Carpet on her own like she did last year. We would have gotten double the interview that way and Stephen wouldhave had a chance to speak. And perhaps , they may have talked to her about her triple NOM instead of talking about them as a couple. (I received a tweet from one of the news agencies, that IT WAS ANNOUNCED that they were going to walk the RC as a couple.) It was made into a big deal. The Vault reported on it. What do you expect ?
Like I said earlier , if you are not willing to give up something for a 15 second sound bite, DON’T walk the Red Carpet. Skip it ! It’s a waste of time.
BEING THE FOUNDER OF THE “BILLS”BABES – I wanted to see and hear from Bill ( Stephen ), not Sookie. I guess they have to understand, that there is a difference.
Again , this is JMHO…..
SELLE you are not from Sweden, are you ???

Thank you Lou and Lynn! I enjoyed watching this video very much! They all looked stunning!

Thanks for the video, Lou and Lynn. Great to see them all happy and looking good! I loved the way Anna slid her arm around Stephen as Ryan approached. She was probably poking him in the ribs so he didn’t say anything too off-color. LOL.
In defense of these reporters, can you imagine trying to keep all the details about each person straight so you can ask an intelligent question? I think Ryan Seacrest (that was him with SM and AP, right?) did a pretty good job until he tried to press them on the question they didn’t want to answer. This isn’t Watergate, Ryan, you aren’t going to get a Pulitzer. Just drop it.
All of our TB folks handled it quite well.
[Reply]
I think Stephen wanted to say more, but Anna kind of cut him. He always seems to give us more info, more details i think. :)

You’re the best, Lou! Thanks for putting that together and getting it up so quickly.

Lou, thank you so much for this. I had missed the Ryan and Alex interviews, so that part was a first for me … and it was fun to re-visit Anna’s and Stephen’s. You never know what these interviewers will come up with. Our TB gang looked stunning and all in all, handled things quite well.
Kudos to you, Lou, for getting this to us so quickly and to Lynn for posting.

Thank you Lou for your talent in recording these interviews and Lynn for posting, I’m always watching the wrong channel.
It was nice to see Stephen and Anna together, and they looked radiant. Ryan and Alexander looked very sharp and I think the reporter with AS was having trouble controlling herself. LOL

Thanks Lou for putting together all the TB cast highlights!

Thank you LOU for the wonderful video!
I think that Stephen should walk future Red Carpet’s alone. I felt he was stifled last night and I personally wanted to hear him talk – the subject made no difference to me, I just wanted to hear his wit, humour and loveliness.
I think that if you don’t want to stop and give a 15 second soundbite – DON’T STOP AT ALL. JMHO.
Ryan had a nice interview toward the end of the Arrivals and Anders interview with the hands-ey tall gorgeous blonde was fantastic … She was really into him ….

Absolutely, Sterling. We’d listen to him recite the changes in our copays, with a smile on our faces. And what happened to the questions Billsbabes tweeted to Guiliana Ranscic? Rutina also had a nice turn on TV Guide (I think). She looked lovely.

Thanks Lou for putting together that great GG video for us! I agree with Sterling in that Stephen should walk the red carpet alone. He definitely has a better handle with interviews and I also missed hearing his humour and charm. Maybe it has something to do with his maturity.
I also liked the second interview with Ryan and Alex was very gracious in his.

I almost get embarrassed watching AS in this interview. What ditzes they have interviewing. He’s very serious about his craft, and I think they knock it down a few notches.

I fully support all the True Blood cast and would NEVER cut any of them down. I think they all looked wonderful and handled themselves with grace.
Please remember that this is a TRUE BLOOD site. Please be kind and remember when your’e cutting ANNA down that is Stephen’s future wife.

Stephen did defer to anna that being said enjoyed the interview they appear very much in love apparently have no problems with each other that we are aware of he did not look like he cared whether she answered for him or ended the conversation for him.

So true. And I honestly can’t see the interruptions here in this video. I was full on Anna’s side and I think she handled it very well. She was beingvery Anna-like “Stay out of our business” He was basically hammering with the mic going “Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! Tell me!” I actually usually like Ryan Seacrest, but I think he was being extremely pushy here.
“BEING THE FOUNDER OF THE “BILLS”BABES – I wanted to see and hear from Bill ( Stephen ), not Sookie. I guess they have to understand, that there is a difference.”
The interview was not just made for you or just for Billsbabes. This was for True Blood fans and for Anna fans too AND for Stephen fans.
Stephen really didn’t seem to mind.

[Reply]
They all looked so beautiful and handsome. I loved the interview with Stephen and Anna. You can tell they are very in love with each other. I loved the way she looked at him. But I do wish they would hire some people, with brains, to interview the celebrities. That comment about the “English accent” to Ryan was the height of stupidity. Then Anna and Stephen get asked about there personal lives and Alex got to talk about the weather.
[Reply]
Just watched this AGAIN and Stephen DOES give the question over to Anna. He most likely knew she would shut it down and I don’t think Stephen could have done that. Ryan probably wouldn’t have stopped. Anna was strict, but I think the way she said it was pretty charming and with a smile and a glimmer in her eye. That’s how I saw it. And when she interrupts with saying that Ryan doesn’t need to know that, it’s just her being protective of their relationship.
[Reply]
I think, :), is the typical real couple situation, when one of them poke the other one before say something unfunny. I’ve seen it in all my friends couples
[Reply]
I really don’t think Ryan Seacrest was at all prepared and so had nothing useful to ask (so he gets demerits for that.
But I also feel that going out onto the red carpet Anna should have been a little bit more gracious. She probably didn’t mean anything bad by shutting down Ryan Seacrest but it reflects poorly on her, not Seacrest. This is the Red Carpet, come on, don’t you as a nominee and celebrity realize all the fans are waiting for your interview? It’s not like the paparazzi ambushed anybody.
I just couldn’t wait to hear anything, absolutely anything from my favorite couple (especially the Stephen half) and it almost seemed like it was a little bit of an inconvenience to throw me that bone.
