Today the Screen Actors Guild announced the nominations for this year’s SAG awards and, sadly True Blood was only nominated in one category.

We’re happy to report that True Blood has won this year’s Screen Actor’s Guild award for Outstanding Performance by a “Stunt” Ensemble in a Television Series.
The announcement was made today from the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards® red carpet by Screen Actors Guild Awards Committee Chair JoBeth Williams and Screen Actors Guild President Ken Howard. The announcement was made on the live SAG Awards® red carpet pre-show webcast on tnt.tv and tbs.com.
Screen Actors Guild Stunt Ensemble Honors commend work within the stunt community during 2010 and recognize stunt performers and coordinators. Nominees that were chosen by their respective SAG Awards® film and television nominating committees — each consisting of 2,100 SAG members from around the country, randomly selected anew each year — were announced on Dec. 16, 2010. Balloting procedures to choose the final recipients were sent to the nearly 100,000 eligible voting members of Screen Actors Guild on Dec. 30. Voting closed on Friday, Jan. 28 at noon PT. Results were sealed by the Guild’s official election teller until Williams and Howard announced them on the SAG Awards red carpet.

True Blood has received only one nomination for this year’s Screen Actors Guild awards. This writer is shocked and thinks that many of the cast and the show deserve better.
Nominees were announced this morning from the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, CA at 6am.
The nomination that True Blood received is Outstanding Performance by a “Stunt” Ensemble in a Television Series.
17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast live coast to-coast on TNT and TBS on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, at 8 p.m. (ET), 7 p.m. (CT), 6 p.m. (MT) and 5 p.m. (PT) from the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. An encore presentation will air on TNT at 10 p.m. (ET) 9 p.m. (CT), 8 p.m. (MT) and 7 p.m. (PT). The ceremony will also be telecast internationally.

True Blood’s Sam Trammell was interviewed at the Screen Actors Guild Awards with his girlfriend Missy Yager on January 23, 2010 by TV Guide. When asked about Anna Paquin, he says she’s great, but she likes to hit him a lot.

Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen – Most Surprising Award
I never expected to see the Alexander McQueen Spring 2010 collection much on the red carpet, let alone a major event like the SAG Awards, but it was a pleasant surprise. I can imagine Joan Rivers slating this dress on E! Fashion Police next week, but she would never ‘get’ this look. I personally can’t get enough of her sexy reptile print mini which she pairs with black and gold trimmed strappy sandals. Anna’s become the dark horse of awards season. I’ve spent my time looking out for Carey Mulligan, when it Anna who’s making all the waves.
Deborah Ann Woll in Gustavo Cadile – Oh So Pretty Award
“True Blood” Deborah Ann Woll looked really pretty wearing a Gustavo Cadile Resort 2010 pale blue lace and chiffon tiered gown. Had the colour been any lighter it may have washed her out, but I think she does well at her first major red carpet event. Her eye make-up complemented her stunning gown, as did her blue Swarovski crystal Kiosque clutch. Deborah is here with her boyfriend, E.J. Scott.
