True Blood’s Anna Camp also to be on Mad Men

Posted by Lynnpd On April - 16 - 2010

Last week it was reported that Anna Camp would reprise her role of Sarah Newlin, the wife of the leader of the Fellowship of the Sun, Rev. Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian), in Season 3 of True Blood.  Now, we see that Anna also has another gig.  Below we see her as she gets prettied up before shooting a scene with co-star Jon Hamm for the upcoming season of Mad Men on Thursday (April 15) in Pasadena, Calif.

Last September, Anna said, “Mad Men is taking over my life at the moment. I’ve been sort of addicted to it and would love to be on that show on some point. (laughs)” Sounds like the Mad Men producers found out and granted Anna her wish!

Anna Camp makes Buddy TV’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2009

Posted by Lynnpd On December - 4 - 2009

annacamp1Anna Camp plays Sarah Newlin, the preacher’s wife on True Blood and is supposed to be saintly and virginal. But Anna Camp’s version was willing to throw away her marriage to Reverend Newlin, played by Michael McMillian for some alone time with Jason Stackhouse. We don’t blame her, nor do we blame Jason for giving up religious devotion for some bath time fun. We hear rumors that both Anna Camp and Michael McMillian will be seen again in True Blood and we hope so. Now, we’re happy to report that Anna has just been named #85 on Buddy TV’s 100 Sexiest Women of 2009 list.

Congratulations Anna!

True Blood Star Anna Camp Comes to “Office” Wedding!

Posted by Lynnpd On September - 10 - 2009

anna_camp1Anna Camp (Sarah Newlin on True Blood) is to appearing on the October 8 wedding taking place on the NBC show “The Office”. What exactly brings anti-vamp Sarah Newlin out of Bon Temps and into our Thursday night lineup? Are those darned anti-vampire groups attempting to recruit our favorite Pennsylvania paper suppliers?

Not quite, but Anna Camp, the sexy and scandalous reverend’s wife from True Blood is heading to Scranton to be a part of TV’s most anticipated wedding in recent years.

(Hint: She’s part of Jenna Fischer’s bridal party.)

A rep for The Office confirms to us that Anna will join the Dunder Mifflin Niagara Falls nuptials playing Pam’s sister Penny. Over the past few seasons, we haven’t heard much about the Beesly sibling, but we applaud the casting. There’s a definite resemblance there, right?

Since the rushed I dos are an attempt to conceal the bride’s budding baby bump from her family, we wonder if the sisters are close enough for Pam to let Penny in on the secret. Guess we’ll have to wait and see!

The big Office wedding airs Oct. 8 at 9 p.m. on NBC.

Anna Camp Chats About Her Role On ‘True Blood’

Posted by Lynnpd On September - 4 - 2009

annacamp1Starpulse contributing writer Chelsea Doyle got a chance to speak with Anna Camp, an up-and-coming actress who recently guest starred in “True Blood,” and she is already well known in off-Broadway circles for her roles in “Equus,” “Columbinus,” and “The Scene.”

She just recently wrapped up the movie “Forgetting the Girl” and chatted about her love for the theater, her upcoming guest star roles, and how she turned “True Blood’s” Sarah Newlin from a black and white character to a colorful (i.e., slightly crazy) real person.

Chelsea Doyle: Hi, Anna. Thanks for talking with us. You know you’re kind of a Broadway darling at the moment.

Anna Camp: Aw, yeah, I’ve done a few shows on Broadway. I’ve had like the best time of my life. It’s the hardest work I’ve ever done.

Chelsea Doyle: You co-starred in “Equus,” “Columbinus” and “The Scene,” and they’re all a little bit controversial. Or at least your roles in them are. Do those offbeat kind of stories and roles really appeal to you?

Anna Camp: Oh they appeal to me way more than any sort of standard run of the mill kind of characters. It’s the characters that those projects bring about … it’s really interesting dynamics. They’re characters you don’t get all the time, so yeah I love the more controversial aspects of it because the people are very real and … it’s not a safe thing. It’s not a safe project. I’d rather do something and take a risk, and art is about… to me it’s about pushing people’s buttons and getting people excited about things. If you do something sort of normal run of the mill project, then you don’t get the opportunity to … art should offend people! (laughter) You can’t please everyone, I think. I’d rather do something to get people excited and talking to something that is safe.

Chelsea Doyle: I have to ask, because you starred with Daniel Radcliffe in “Equus,” and he has some pretty crazy Harry Potter fangirls.

Anna Camp: Oh you’re telling me! (Laughs)

Chelsea Doyle: Did you have any strange run-ins with his fans while you were doing the production?

Anna Camp: Well, I mean, we were both nude on stage together. And after the show I sort of stopped going out the stage door, because I’d sneak out with the rest of the cast. Dan would always go out and sign autographs. I did it for awhile, but then it became … the girls would come up to me. And you would think they would be joking, but they were not joking. They’d be like ‘hey … we really hate you.’ (Laughs) And I’d be like ‘Oh …. okay. Thanks for coming.’ You know what I mean?

Chelsea Doyle: (Laughing) Yes!

Anna Camp: And they would pointedly … you could tell they were just like ‘we wish we could be in that position with him.’ Not literally. I don’t know, maybe literally.

Chelsea Doyle: Might be a little literally. Read the rest of this entry »
