Anna Camp to be in comedy pilot “Damaged Goods”

Posted by Lynnpd On March - 11 - 2014

Anna+Camp+Club+Monaco+Fifth+Avenue+Flagship+Mz43IKqJ4W3lIt’s bittersweet to see the True Blood stars getting other jobs on TV, but we want to congratulate them and wish them much success as True Blood leads to it’s finale season.

This time it’s True Blood‘s Sarah Newlin, Anna Camp who has closed a deal for what is considered the lead role in Lauren Iungerich’s ABC comedy pilot Damaged Goods, from WBTV.

The show revolves around damaged men and damaged women who explore the minutiae of love and relationships. A smart and successful lawyer, Nicole (Camp) is totally bewildered and betrayed when her boyfriend Tim (Justin Hartley) tells her he can’t be happy for her or continue to date if she takes the promotion she was offered at the law firm where they both work — the promotion he expected to get. Steve Talley and Kellee Stewart co-star.

We expect to see Anna again this year on True Blood since we’ve had hints about meeting her family, but we know that she was very busy last season, juggling roles on HBO’s True Blood, Fox’s The Mindy Project and CBS’ Vegas.

Congratulations to Anna Camp!

Anna Camp to Join the cast of “How I Met Your Mother”

Posted by Lynnpd On August - 29 - 2013

Anna+Camp+Premiere+Universal+Pictures+Gold+m4IyZ-shfUaxTrue Blood‘s Anna Camp has agreed to join the cast of  How I Met Your Mother‘s highly anticipated nuptials playing a character originally earmarked for The Office‘s Ellie Kemper.

Anna will assume the role of Cassie, one of the most attractive, available, and — as Ted discovers — unfortunate guests at the big event. Ellie Kemper had to bow out due to a scheduling conflict.

Anna will appear in one episode, but, given the wedding’s season-long structure, it’s possible she could return.

Congratulations Anna, but be sure not to get too comfortable, we hope to see Sarah Newlin on True Blood, too!

Anna Camp’s Interview with HBO True Blood

Posted by Lynnpd On August - 13 - 2013

Sarah Newlin was an awesome villian this season and the fact that Jason let her live means we’ll see more of her in the future on True Blood. Below is part of the interview she just gave to HBO about her character this season.

HBO: Did killing Suzuki prime Sarah for her showdown with the vamps?
Anna Camp: Definitely. In the most twisted way, it gave her the strength to climb those stairs. Being able to kill Suzuki is just another sign from God that she’s on the right path.
HBO: She really believes she’s doing God’s work?
Anna Camp: It’s an honest, true thing that she feels. And every little thing that happens is just another sign propelling her to move forward. She’s dead set on the fact that God is telling her to do these things.
HBO: Why open the ceiling instead of just running away? She only narrowly escaped death by hiding under that pile of body parts.
Anna Camp: It’s a combination of a need to finish what she started and that she’s crazy enough to keep going. Any smart person would think, “What have I done? I have to get out of here.” Before, she had no idea that she was capable of murder. I wouldn’t know what it feels like after you’ve killed someone, thank God, but I imagine that your sense of reality is warped. Sarah’s reality has never been the reality that everyone else lives in. But I think after committing murder, that’s more than tipped the scales.
HBO: Why does she hate vampires so much?
Anna Camp: She had a sister who got addicted to V and vanished. Sarah found hope with the Fellowship of the Sun and Steve Newlin. She’s a woman who’s easily swayed and who wants to feel a part of something; she’s black and white. And now that her husband is a gay vampire – and being vampire is far worse in her mind – she’s completely humiliated and embarrassed. Eradicating vampires is her way of taking back control of her life. It’s an extreme way, but that’s her way.
HBO: You certainly wouldn’t want her on your bad side.
Anna Camp: After last Sunday’s episode, I’m afraid everyone will be scared of me now. Even my mom was a little freaked out by it.
HBO: What does Sarah think about Steve’s last words?
Anna Camp: She definitely thinks he’s about to say he loves her. The guilt is mounting and she’s starting to have her doubts, but then he pulls out “Jason Stackhouse.” She can’t even process it.
HBO: Is she surprised that Jason lets her go?
Anna Camp: Very. She knows what she’s done – I don’t know if anyone ever deserves to die, but she’s certainly been asking for it. But again, to her it’s just another sign from God that she’s doing the right thing. It’s just more fuel to her fire: “I am right. I am God’s tool. He’s speaking through me.” It’s another notch in her belt of craziness.
HBO: Where do you think she’ll go? Where would Sarah Newlin hide out?
Anna Camp: She’s underground somewhere, plotting. I see her turning into a weird zombie of a woman. I think being sent away will make her more powerful in a sense. She’ll shut down and become a robot for God.
