Over the years we have come to learn more and more about the True Blood actors; their work, their passions and the charitable causes they support. Some support their charities quietly, almost hidden from the public eye, while others Twitter and Facebook and have become an icon for the organization of their choice.
In Part 2 of True Blood actors and the charities they support we take a look at Ryan Kwanten, Denis O’Hare, Deborah Ann Woll, Mariana Klaveno, Chris Bauer, Tara Buck and Dale Raoul. Read Part 1 here.
Ryan Kwanten‘s support to cancer related causes like Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, is of a very personal nature. Ryan’s mother is a two time cancer survivor and has been in the clear since 2006. We send all our best wishes to Mom Kwanten.
The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer. This flagship fundraising event will also celebrate breast cancer survivorship and honor those who have lost their battle with the disease.
Ryan ran the race on March 14, 2010. Over $400,000 was raised for the battle against cancer.

Denis O’Hare lost his mother to ovarian cancer in 2008. To help raise money to fight ovarian cancer the O’Hare family organized the “Karene O’Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Run” on September 11, 2010 in New Quarter Park, Williamsburg, VA.
Denis participated in the 8 mile run and donated signed True Blood merchandise for the charity auction.

E.J. Scott, the partner of True Blood actress Deborah Ann Woll, has Choroideremia. Choroideremia (CHM) is a rare inherited disorder that causes progressive loss of vision and leads to total blindness. At this time, there is no treatment or cure for this disease. Doctors working on a treatment say they are close but need only a couple of million dollars to make a real difference.
Deborah and E.J. try to raise funds for the Choroideremia Research Foundation and raise awareness for the disease. Last year E.J. ran the Chicago marathon blindfolded because his eyes are very light sensitive. You can read about the experience on his blog: http://ejcurechm.blogspot.com/

Chris Bauer supports Stomp Out Bullyin, and The Trevor Project.
“These are great organizations that advocate compassion, tolerance, and community responsibility to shun bullying, kid on kid violence, peer pressure, etc.” Chris tells the Vault exclusively. “Like most of us, I’ve been on both sides of the experience. the more adults advocating social strategies that keep kids safe to grow and evolve without threat from others, the more we can count on their future happiness, citizenship, and contributions.”

Tara Buck supports The Advocates, this organization works to prevent domestic violence and sexual assault in our communities through education, shelter and supportive services. What an amazing organization!!!”
Further Tara supports The Amanda Foundation. “Animals have been a big part of my life. They are our protectors, companions, therapists and we must be theirs in return”, Tara says. The Amanda Foundation is a nonprofit organization that rescues dogs and cats who, through no fault of their own, are spending their last days at City and County Shelters.
