True Blood’s Evan Rachel Wood is featured in the video below, a Frank Miller directed ad for Gucci fragrance “Guilty” which debuted on Gucci’s official Facebook page. The teaser features a pair in a fiery sport car careening down a raised highway in one of Miller’s signature black and white, dystopian futuristic, noir-tinged fantasy lands.

Set to premiere during MTV’s 2010 Video Music Awards on September 12, Miller’s work is a full-on short film promoting the fragrance.

It was announced Tuesday that True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood has been handpicked by Gucci creative director, Frida Giannini as the face of a yet-to-be-announced new fragrance from the fashion house.

Giannini tells WWD, “I chose Evan Rachel Wood as she has very strong character. She’s young, but rising and an influential figure. I didn’t want to offer this project to someone overexposed or too well known. Instead, I wanted a fresh individual that would coincide with the image of the project.”

Best known for her roles in HBO’s True Blood, alongside Mickey Rourke in the The Wrestler and in Woody Allen’s Whatever Works, Wood’s natural ability in front of the camera is what made her so attractive to the brand. “Even though she can appear shy at times, when the camera starts rolling, she becomes animated and vivacious,” Giannini tells the daily. “She is incredible, very sexy, and her eyes and face really attract the people of her generation.”

Though details of the fragrance have yet to be announced, Giannini’s descriptors of “young” and “fresh” to describe her attraction to Wood lead us to believe the scent will be geared toward a younger demographic.

True Blood’s Queen Sophie Ann, Evan Rachel Wood, who is hard at work on her latest project, was all dolled up on the set of “Mildred Pierce” in New York City on Friday afternoon (May 28).

Donning quite the adorable pink and black ensemble, the “True Blood” babe got a visit from fiance rocker Marilyn Manson on-set in between the day’s shoot.

Evan Rachel Wood and fiance Marilyn Manson are set to star in the Hollywood retro-slasher movie Splatter Sisters.

It is the first in a planned franchise of sexploitation-serial-killer-slasher-road-movies inspired by horror classics in the 1980s. Filmmaker David Gordon Green revealed the project at Cannes, reports Variety.

“This is a role Marilyn Manson was born to play, and with Evan Rachel Wood bringing dramatic gravity to the ensemble, I have no doubt this will take the horror genre to a new level,” Green said.

True Blood’s Queen Sophie Ann, Evan Rachel Wood and Guy Pearce will join Kate Winslet in Mildred Pierce, HBO’s five-part miniseries, which is set to begin shooting next month.

Wood will play Winslet’s daughter, Veda Pierce, and Pearce will portray Monty Beragon, Mildred’s love interest. Wood’s casting comes just days after she dropped out of the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

The story, set in Los Angeles, documents the struggle of a single mother’s fight for her daughter’s love.

Mildred Pierce, based on the 1941 novel of the same name but made famous by Joan Crawford’s 1945 film adaptation, will also star Oscar nominee Melissa Leo and FlashForward‘s Brian F. O’Byrne. Todd Haynes (Far From Heaven) co-wrote the screenplay and will executive-produce and direct.

The original is a classic and one of the first films to be tagged as a “film noir”.  It was Joan Crawford’s comeback getting her an Oscar as best actress for her portrayal of Mildred while Ann Blyth, in the part of Veda, the part that Evan is to play, was also nominated for an Oscar as best supporting actress.  Additionally, the film was also Oscar nominated for best supporting actress for Eve Arden, best cinematography, best picture and best screenplay, so it will be interesting to see if HBO can out do the original!  The cast seems excellent and we think Evan is perfect for the part of Veda.

Evan Rachel Wood has dropped out of the Broadway tuner “Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark,” which the rumor mill says is gearing up to begin its much-delayed preview period in late summer ahead of an official opening sometime around Halloween.

Producers of “Spider-Man,” in which Wood would have played Mary Jane opposite Reeve Carney as Peter Parker and Alan Cumming as the Green Goblin, would not confirm new dates for the production, but did acknowledge that Wood has exited.

“Evan Rachel Wood has departed ‘Spider-Man, Turn Off the Dark’ due to a scheduling conflict,” producers said in a statement. “Casting is underway to find a new Mary Jane to join the rest of the cast in the production.”

The big-budget musical offering, with music by U2′s Bono and the Edge, was originally skedded to open this spring before that timeline was derailed by difficulties in securing the funds for the enormously expensive new tuner. Observers estimate the budget for the technologically ambitious show, helmed by Julie Taymor, has skyrocketed into the range of $50 million.

Last year producers encountered difficulties nailing down all the necessary coin in time for the original start date. A new lead producer, music industry vet Michael Cohl, was brought aboard in the fall.

Most recently, the team behind “Spider-Man” publicly vowed to have the show up and running sometime this calendar year.

With Deborah Ann Woll‘s popularity as Jessica on True Blood, and with her current filming of the anticipated horror flick, Mother’s Day it seems that she is on the minds of the casting people. In a new article out today, she is being suggested as a possible for the new Mary Jane to play opposite Peter Parker as Spiderman in the new version scheduled. Also mentioned as a possible for the part is Evan Rachel Wood who plays Queen Sophie Ann on True Blood. We still don’t know who is to play Spidey or who is to direct, but we think Deborah would be great in the part of Mary Jane.

Assuming that Mary Jane does have a role to play in the new series, these are the five actresses that MTV’s Secret Identity thinks could assume the mantle from Kirsten Dunst.

AMANDA SEYFRIED: The “Big Love” actress is already well on her way towards a promising Hollywood career thanks to roles in the thrillers “Jennifer’s Body” and “Chloe,” but she could use a blockbuster the size of “Spider-Man” to truly cement her status in Tinsel Town. With her hair dyed red, Seyfried’s natural charm and beauty would do wonders towards bringing Mary Jane back into theaters.

DEBORAH ANN WOLL: Although her “True Blood” role as the rebellious teenage vampire Jessica was initially grating, Woll’s portrayal of a young woman out of her element ultimately proved sympathetic due to her romance with the socially awkward Hoyt. It’s an arc that’s familiar to popular Mary Jane, who eventually falls for the nerdy Peter, so there’s no question that Woll could pull it off.

EVAN RACHEL WOOD: Assuming she’s still playing the role in the upcoming “Spider-Man” musical, there’s really no reason not to turn towards Wood, as she’ll already have had plenty of practice playing Peter’s true love. As long as she doesn’t spend all of her time singing in the new series, I think this would be a great pick.

LEIGHTON MEESTER: As Blair Waldorf on “Gossip Girl,” Meester is used to playing women who almost always get their way and still have a soft spot despite a hard exterior. With that sensibility and her already stunning looks combined, Meester could be a wonderfully watchable MJ. Plus, at only 23 years old, she’s not too far out of Mary Jane’s required high-school age range.

NINA DOBREV: Although her film credits are few — she actually costarred alongside Seyfried in the aforementioned “Chloe” — Dobrev nonetheless has that girl-next-door charm that would win over the hearts and minds of high school geeks everywhere. By casting Dobrev as Mary Jane, the new “Spider-Man” filmmakers could very well hit the jackpot.

True Blood’s Queen Sophie-Anne, Evan Rachel Wood and Gothic rocker Marilyn Manson were spotted at the Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris today. Earlier this month it was reported that they were once again a couple.

After Manson performed a concert in Paris Concert Hall Zenith last night the couple were headed back to spend the holidays at home.

True Blood’s Queen Sophie-Anne, Evan Rachel Wood co-stars in “Love Me Chase Me,” a new video from the band Carney. The video follows the life and death of a fictional character named Mr. Green, played by frontman Reeve Carney—who will also be co-starring with Wood in the upcoming Broadway production of Spider-man.

Shot on the Riverside, California, set of HBO’s Carnivale, the clip was directed by Timothy Garrett.
