Exclusive: Kristin Bauer’s painting of Stephen Moyer revealed

Posted by Shadaliza On December - 2 - 2012

Kristin Bauer van Straten is not only a talented actress and passionate animal rights advocate, she is also a very skilled artist with brush and paint, especially known for her portraits and flower compositions.

Previously she drew a portrait of her colleague Alexander Skarsgård and sold the original and prints for charity. Earlier this year we announced that Kristin would do a portrait of Stephen Moyer next and today is the day that we have the honor to reveal this amazing piece of art to the world.

Kristin has been extremely busy working on her anti-poaching documentary Out for Africa that she shot this summer in Kenya. Editing the film, raising funds and shooting a pilot have kept her busy around the clock, but working through the night she managed to finish the Stephen portrait in time for a Holiday December sale. All proceeds of the portrait will go towards Out for Africa and the survival of the African elephant and rhino.

In collaboration with Kristin Bauer van Straten, The Vault and AllStephenMoyer.com proudly present “Bill Compton in Merlotte’s”, oil on canvas.

The portrait will be auctioned off on eBay next week, so stay tuned for the exact date.

We also have a scoop for the Alex fans….. Kristin is also painting his portrait and if you look closely at the below photo, you might catch a glimpse.

A Night of True Blood Music Benefitting Amanda Foundation

Posted by Lynnpd On November - 24 - 2012

A True Blood hug from Tara and Kristin

On Thursday, November 15, 2012, I attended the Amanda Foundation benefit “Night of True Blood Music.” Hosting the event this year was True Blood’s Pam, Kristin Bauer Van Straten and Ginger, Tara Pierce (Buck). The event featured the music of Kristin’s husband, Abri Van Straten and Tara’s husband, Chris Pierce.

Teri and Tracy of the Amanda Foundation were there and also provided a silent auction with many True Blood items. The Vault donated original autographed items that included an SFX Magazine, photo of Kristin Bauer and Alexander Skarsgård and an illustration of Deborah Ann Woll in an outfit from Season 5. I’m happy to say that the items were sold to benefit the dogs and cats at the no kill shelter.

While there, out in front of Molly Malones, where the event took place, I interviewed Tara and Kristin together. We discussed The Amanda Foundation, Kristin’s new documentary, “Out For Africa,” their latest acting projects and, of course a tiny bit about True Blood.

Watch it below.

Here are some photos of Teri and Kristin when they visited the farm where they saw the elephants and rhinos as Kristin mentioned in the video.

Read more about Tara’s new film, The Pact here and Kristin’s new pilot for Cinnamon Girl, here.

And, below are a few photos.

Kristin Bauer’s Drag Queen Bingo for Out For Africa

Posted by Lynnpd On November - 15 - 2012

Last week, True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten hosted Drag Queen Bingo at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood (WEHO). The night was a lot of fun for all and Carolyn Hennesy (Authority member, Rosalyn Harris) joined the group. Also, Kristin’s buddy Elaine Hendrix was there, to share in the fun.

Kristin and she were in the 1997 film, “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion” together.

The event was held in support of Kristin’s documentary, “Out For Africa.” If you wish to donate, the PayPal address to donate is contactoutforafrica@gmail.com.

See Kristin Bauer on ‘The Mortified Sessions’

Posted by Lynnpd On November - 12 - 2012

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten appears on the final episode Sundance channel’s THE MORTIFIED SESSIONS tonight at 10pm. Kristin’s best known as Pam Swynford De Beaufort on True Blood, but she’s further extended her dark fantasy credentials with a stint as the evil Maleficent on ABC’s Once Upon a Time. They say that she loves to play creepy ladies!

Who could have guessed the dark tidings hiding behind the baby blue eyes in Bauer’s childhood photo at left?

And, they list the top 10 reasons they Love Kristin, and here’s one.

Don’t let those fangs mislead you. Kristin Bauer, or Kristin Bauer van Straten as we’re supposed to call her now that she’s a married woman, is quite possibly the sweetest woman on Earth (you don’t have to convince us of that). While she might make your knees knock in roles like Pam on True Blood, Kristin’s passionate about animal welfare and environmental issues and she’s an outspoken advocate for whales and victims of animal testing. Here are ten reasons we’re hyped about this sweetheart from Wisconsin!

To see all 10, you’ll have go to the site:  sundancechannel.com.

Below is a glimpse of the interview:

True Blood is certainly going to be represented this week in West Hollywood. Earlier this week we reported that Kristin Bauer van Straten was hosting a Drag Queen Bingo party in West Hollywood Wednesday, November 7, 2012.  The event will be held at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood at 8288 Santa Monica Blvd.

Well, now we have more news about this event that we wanted to share with you, ”True Blood Villains are in the Bingo House!! Not only is Kristin Bauer van Straten going to be there hosting, but her guests will be none other than the evil maenad, Marianne, Michelle Forbes and Vampire authority member, Rosalyn Harris, Carolyn Hennsey.

Read more about it below and don’t miss out on the event!

TRUE BLOOD” VILLAINS ARE IN THE BINGO HOUSE!

“Three beautiful women. But all killers. Yes, killers. This week for the 9 pm show three of HBO’s best “True Blood” baddies! What in God’s name can happen when these three powerful women hit Legendary Bingo! Well suffice to say BALLS WILL BE FLYING!

Killer vampire “Pam” is really amazing actress and animal lover Kristin Bauer van Straten. We are raising money for her documentary “Out For Africa” on the rescue of elephants in the wild from nasty poachers.”

Member of the elite vampire authority, Rosalyn Harris is Carolyn Hennesy.  And a few seasons back (Season 2) on “True Blood” the evil villain was Maryann Forrester- some sort of a sex driven beast monster who is actually Michelle Forbes.

True Blood Night of Music for Amanda Foundation November 15

Posted by Lynnpd On November - 5 - 2012

True Blood’s Kristin Bauer van Straten (Pam) and Tara Buck (Ginger) have very creative husbands and both of them will entertain True blood fans at the Night of Music to benefit the Amanda Foundation on November 15 at 7pm. This is the second year that this event has taken place and we covered it last year and will again.  Here’s our report from last year.

The Night of Music is to be held at Molly Malone’s at 575 South Fairfax in Los Angeles. In addition to the music for the night there will also be True Blood items in their silent auction.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.  You can reserve your tickets by going to the Amanda Foundation web site.

So, come on out and support The Amanda Foundation and meet some True Blood stars, too!

Drag Queen Bingo, anyone? True Blood’s Kristin Bauer (Pam on True Blood) is hosting the bingo event to raise $$ for the documentary, “Out For Africa,” she’s making about the slaughter of elephants for their ivory.  The event takes place on November 7.

Kristin explains why she is doing this film on her web site:

“Elephants and Rhinoceros are in crisis. Rhino in the wild have now gone extinct. Poaching for Elephant ivory and Rhino horn is at an all-time high. In 2011, more elephant tusks were seized than in any year since 1989 when the ivory trade was banned. Accelerated poaching made 2011 the worst year for the Rhino and 2012 has been even worse. The Western Black Rhino has now gone extinct entirely as well as the Northern White Rhino. If we don’t do more it is likely the last of the rhino and Elephants in the wild will also be extinct in less than fifteen years, at this rate.”

So come on out and have a fun time and also help this worthy cause. $20 will get you in (cash only at door; but they will take checks/credit for auction). The event is being held next Wednesday night, November 7 at Hamburger Mary’s in West Hollywood at 8288 Santa Monica Blvd. Just by attending you will become a part of this amazing venture that Kristin is working so hard for and also have a good time.
