“True Blood” co-star Mehcad Brooks has joined ABC’s midseason legal drama “The Deep End” as a regular.

On the show, set at a prestigious L.A. law firm, Brooks will play a new character, Malcolm Bennet, an associate at the firm.

The casting raises questions about the future of his “True Blood” character, Benedict “Eggs” Talley, who was introduced in the first-season finale.

Brooks was then promoted to regular for the vampire drama’s second season and has been prominently featured on the show this summer.

True Blood actor Mehcad Brooks (Eggs) participated this Sunday (August 23) in the Tag the World celebrity charity triathlon in Waikiki, Hawaii.

Tag The World Charity Celebrity Triathlon is an annual event held to raise funds and awareness the tag the world campaign which supports 20 charities under 5 causes. This unique campaign gives the individual the opportunity to support whatever cause that expresses their personal story or passion.

Mehcad Brooks, who portrays Eggs on True Blood is competing in The Tag the World Celebrity Triathlon which will pair celebrities with 30 foster kids and will benefit a Hawaiian charity that raises awareness and funds for the children in foster care in Hawaii.

The list of celebrities includes stars from many different Hollywood genres. Movies actors involved with the charity event include James Franco and Pauly Shore. Numerous soap opera actors will be participating in the triathlon, including Kyle Lowder (Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives), Darin Brooks (Days of Our Lives) and Arianne Zucker (Days of Our Lives).

Other TV celebrities include: Drew Lachey (Dancing With the Stars), Jeremy Jackson (Baywatch), Clayne Crawford (CSI), Rebecca Mader (Lost) and Ryan Eggold (90210). Also participating will be women’s soccer star Mia Hamm and supermodel Amber Valletta.

Mehcad Brooks is a new addition to the True Blood cast, he was introduced to us as Eggs last season. InterviewMagazine.com did a Q&A with Mehcad.

Where are you from?
I’m from beautiful and green Austin, Texas.

How did you get into acting?
I watched Eddie Murphy Raw and Delirious every day after school in elementary and middle school before my parents got home. I realized that entertaining people was a career and I thought I’m already doing that I may as well be paid for it.

If you were immortal, what would you do differently from what you do now?
If I were immortal…nothing. Because I would have plenty of time to correct my many mistakes.

Can the vampire universes of True Blood and Twilight peacefully coexist?
Of course. It’s not like the democrats and the republicans. Twilight is amazing. Jackson Rathbone and Edi Gathegi from the film are friends. But I think our vamps are the ones the adults watch when they tuck the kiddies into their twilight sheets and knickers.

What would a rumble between the two casts look like?
We could always have a “vamp-off” which was very common in 15th century Wallachia and current day New Orleans. But my prediction is after a couple rounds they’d be begging for their undead mothers.

If you could read minds like Anna Paquin’s character Sookie, whose mind would you read?
Dick Chaney. Come on. You know you want to know too.

Which celebrity do you suspect is most likely to be a secret vampire?
In that “cool vamp” way…Nick Cage. In the traditional sense of the matter… there are plenty of parasites. Not too many secretive about that.

What’s your favorite vampire movie, book, or TV show besides True Blood?
Bram Stoker and Nosferatu.

What’s the scariest or strangest thing that’s happened on the set of the show?
Love scenes scare me like Carrie Prejean’s politics.
