No nude scenes for Scott Foley on True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On June - 10 - 2012

Scott Foley made an unannounced visit to the set of Extra Wednesday on June 6th at The Grove for an ‘Extra’ interview with Renee Bargh in Los Angeles.

Scott told Renee that in preparation for his new role, he worked out for months, thinking he will have to do many nude scenes. He says he was bummed that he never got to get naked with anyone on the show but admitted his wife was probably happy about the situation.

Scott Foley Says True Blood is the Hottest Set in TV History

Posted by Shadaliza On May - 15 - 2012

True Blood’s new cast member, Scott Foley, the former “Felicity” star opened up at the Fox Upfront on Monday, where he revealed that “True Blood” might be the hottest set in TV history.

I am going to be on ‘True Blood.’ It was really exciting,”  “I had a great time shooting it. I spent the last nine months shooting this season and it was very secretive, very sexy, a lot of blood and fangs.

If you’ll recall the closing episodes of season four, Scott plays war vet Patrick, who comes to town to meet up with old pal Terry. While he wouldn’t share much else about what kind of trouble could be brewing with his character in Bon Temps, he did tease that he gets sexy with someone on the show and that we might even get to see the Full Foley.

I’m not sure,” he said when asked if he has any sexy moments with one of the town’s sexy residents. “It’s up to you when you watch it.” So, will he get naked considering, like, every guy on the show gets naked? “There you go,” he joked.

Scott Foley a 100 Percent Human on True Blood

Posted by Lynnpd On May - 3 - 2012

Scott Foley plays Patrick who is one of the few characters that is 100 percent human on True Blood. Foley told TVLine: “People ask me, ‘Oh my God, you’re on True Blood — what are you?!” And I have to keep saying, “Umm… nothing! I’m just a guy!’” he recounts with a laugh. “I’m not a vampire, I’m not a werewolf, I’m not a werepanther, I’m not a fairy, I’m not a shapeshifter. I’m just a guy coming into town trying to finish something he started back in Iraq.”

What exactly is the nature of his unfinished business with Terry? “Something happened between the two of them in Iraq that needs to be dealt with,” Foley teases. “I can’t say what it is. It has nothing to do with vampires or werelwolves. But there is a mission that they need to complete.”

A lot of the speculation about what we will see in the upcoming True Blood Season Five has centered around Terry Bellefleur’s friend Patrick Devins, played by Scott Foley, a St. Louis-bred TV star who made his “True Blood” debut in the Season Four finale. Foley himself hints that his arrival on the scene does not bode well for Terry Bellefleur (Todd Lowe). Some hints may be found in the itnerview with Foley held by alivemag.com.

In the fast-paced TV world, Foley has stayed a step ahead since 1998, appearing in hit shows like “Dawson’s Creek,” “Scrubs,” “The Unit” and—perhaps most famously—”Felicity,” where he starred for four seasons as love interest Noel Crane. When his “Grey’s Anatomy” character was killed off last season, the 39-year-old actor didn’t miss a beat. Although he’s been asked to direct an episode of “Grey’s Anatomy,” among other projects, he’s focusing most of his attention on “True Blood” and a sitcom pilot for FOX called “The Goodwin Games,” with co-star Becki Newton from “Ugly Betty.” Another good omen for the new sitcom’s success? Its creators already have “How I Met Your Mother” under their belts.

When the fifth season of “True Blood” premieres on June 10, chances are good it will top last season’s 5.42 million viewers. And, with Foley in the mix of the show’s signature chaos and suspense, we’re willing to bet this season will be more shockingly addictive than ever.

ALIVE: You’re working on two very different projects right now with the start of “True Blood’s” fifth season and your new sitcom pilot, “The Goodwin Games.”
Scott Foley: They could not be more opposite! I mean, “True Blood,” even though it can be a little campy at times, is so far from a comedy. [Laughs.] Especially my story line—I’m an Iraq war veteran (Patrick Devins) with post-traumatic stress syndrome. “The Goodwin Games” is a laugh-line comedy. I play a young doctor—well, not as young as I once was!

ALIVE: Why did you decide to do “True Blood?”
SF: The way they film the show is really unique to me. I had only done network television before, and I always wanted to do a cable show. It’s such a huge cast, and it’s like shooting a big movie. [Foley's big screen credits include "Scream 3."] Most television shows are shot in seven or eight days, but “True Blood” has the luxury and the budget to shoot each episode in about 20 days. They take their time and really focus on the characters and story, and that was important to me. Plus, I have a Southern accent in this role, which I’ve never done on-screen before, so it was a great chance for me to stretch my wings that way. It was the right part at the right time.

ALIVE: Do you think you’ll get more fan attention because of “True Blood’s” devoted following?
SF: When I booked the part, there was some news on it, and the girls at my local Starbucks—who hadn’t cared less that I was in every day before—freaked out. That hadn’t happened to me since “Felicity”—we’re talking 12 or 13 years now.

Scott Foley to Co-Star in Fox Comedy Pilot

Posted by Lynnpd On February - 24 - 2012

True Blood’s Scott Foley, who will play the part of Patrick Devins, the military buddy of Terry Bellefleur’s in Season 5, has been tapped to co-star opposite Becki Newton in the Fox comedy pilot The Goodwin Games.

The single-camera project is described as a high-concept project about a father who leaves his fortune to his three children — only if they agree to his terms.

Foley will play Henry, one of the children, with the previously cast Newton playing his sister, Coney.

In addition to his new part in True Blood, Foley most recently wrapped an arc as Henry on ABC’s Shonda Rhimes medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. The casting marks his latest comedic effort following stints on Cougar Town and Scrubs.

What Happened When Terry Was in Iraq?

Posted by Lynnpd On January - 25 - 2012

We’ve previously reported that Scott Foley is going to play Terry’s army buddy and he was introduced in True Blood season 4.  That episode was just to introduce him and he’ll be sticking around for the fifth season.
According to TV Guide, with Scott Foley in season 5, the show will reveal “what happened in Iraq that caused the Merlotte’s chef to come back with such a severe case of PTSD.”

Spoiler Alert!

At the end of Season 4, we saw the appearance of, Patrick Devins, Terry’s buddy from the army who showed up in Merlotte’s for a visit.  The casting call from last season described hsi character as:

[Patrick Devins] 35 to 45, tough, and ruggedly attractive, he served in the military with Terry, and they share a serious history: Terry saved Patrick’s life twice. 7 out of 13 episodes next season.

The character is played by Scott Foley and is expected to bring nothing but trouble for Terry and Arlene in Season 5. We think he will provide the means by which we learn about Terry’s army history.  As war veteran Patrick Devans, Foley promises to throw more than a few curve balls at the “True Blood” cast… especially the happily married Terry Bellefleur and Arlene Fowler, both of whom are about to get caught up in Devans’ dangerous baggage.

The jury is out on Scott Foley’s character,” Carrie Preston, who plays Arlene, told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival. “They set it up to be something that’s a little dangerous by the end of season four, and I’m telling you right now, it’s not going to get any better.

But even if Scott presents a threat to Arlene’s happy marriage, Carrie insists that the Merlotte’s waitress isn’t going to stand aside and let her family fall apart.

Arlene wants to hold onto her man and her family and that’s always going to be her MO,” she said. “Anything that comes into her situation and is threatening, she’s not going to take that lying down.”
