Recently we posted that Cargo Films had picked up the rights to distribute Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin’s new film, Free Ride internationally. Now, Phase 4 Films acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights to the first film from Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer’s new production company CASM.
This is writer-director Shana Betz’s feature directorial debut and the film stars Anna Paquin, Cam Gigandet, Drea De Matteo, Liana Liberato, Jeff Hephner, Brit Morgan and Ava Acres. Scripted by Betz, the film is produced by Susan Dynner, Cerise Hallam Larkin, Chris Swinney and Paquin, and executive produced by Mark Larkin and Stephen Moyer.
Phase 4 will release the film later this year in theaters and on demand. Set in the 1970s and based on her life story, Betz’s accomplished directorial debut is a provocative crime thriller: Paquin plays a single mother who moves to Florida with her daughters in search of a better life but gets pulled into the high-stakes drug-trade business.
Phase 4′s Barry Meyerowitz says:
“Shana Betz has written and directed a poignant and gripping film anchored by a powerful performance by Anna Paquin,” “We look forward to working with Shana, and the entire cast and producing team to bring this film to audiences.”
Anna Paquin is quoted as saying:
“It’s always very exciting to discover talented writers and directors at the beginning of their careers. Based on the life story of Shana Betz, our writer-director, Free Ride tells an emotionally intense story of survival, and the lengths a mother will go to, to take care of her children,” She further says: “This was a story we felt passionately needed to be told. We are thrilled that Phase 4 is as excited about the film as we are and look forward to working with them.”

“Free Ride” starring Anna Paquin and Cam Gigandet has been picked up for international distribution by Cargo Entertainment.
The film, with executive producer Stephen Moyer, tells the story of a single mom who moves to Florida with her daughters to try and make a better life but gets caught up in the drug-trade business in the late 1970s.

Stephen Moyer’s film, “Evidence” is due out in US theaters July 19, 2013, from Image Entertainment. So far, there have been few images from the film, but now Bloody Disgusting has released a poster for the film’s international release. While we wait for their US campaign to kick off this international poster provides some insights about the film.
Evidence, is a thriller that stars True Blood’s Bill, Stephen Moyer along with Silent Hill‘s Radha Mitchell. Directed by The Fourth Kind‘s Olatunde Osunsanmi, Evidence centers on two detectives (Moyer and Mitchell) who attempt to piece together what happened at the scene of a brutal massacre using a number of recording devices found at the crime scene.
“When the police arrive at an abandoned desert gas station after a brutal massacre, they find no evidence at the crime scene except for some of the victim’s personal electronics, which include a video camera, a Flip-cam, and two cellphones. With nothing else to go on, a troubled detective must analyze and piece together the footage from the personal electronics in order to figure out what the hell happened and who the killer is.“
When asked what Stephen Moyer’s best role was, besides Bill Compton, many fans would answer: “Restraint”. In fact this 2008 psychological thriller is a must see and must have for a Billsbabes and Moyerists. Having a copy signed by the man himself is even better… and now you can!

According to the latest Entertainment Weekly, Summer Preview issue, Stephen Moyer’s upcoming film, “Evidence” finally gets a release date. According to the magazine, it will be released in theaters on July 19, 2013. No word yet on whether it will have wide or limited release. We’ll be sure to keep you informed once further information is available.
