Breakfast with Sam Trammell at Eyecon 2009

Posted by Lynnpd On January - 20 - 2010

SterlingSilverCharm:

When I attended the Eyecon event in Orlando, I met all sorts of wonderful people, some were aware of the StephenMoyer Webring and some were not, but all adored the show and the cast and some especially adored – the gorgeous Sam Trammell.

I first met Kris and MaryAnne at the private supper we had with Sam. They are from Philly – I do not envy them this cold weather and are very happy to be in hot weather.

I have learned over time and from the members of the yuku board, that their love for the show is not limited to just one type of person or a specific career path. The Yuku board has a diverse group of ladies and gentleman perusing it’s hallways, from Government Workers, to Doctors, Nurses and Physical Therapists to Published Writers and Entertainment Industry people; from Web Designers to School Teachers to Lawyers and Language Translators; Prison Guards to Homemakers and Linguistics Specialists. My friend MaryAnne works as a medical records coder and Kris was a nightclub DJ , although, she thinks she is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up !

Kris and MaryAnne were brought to True Blood because of their keen interest in vampires (their Anne Rice online fandom ) and because True Blood was produced by HBO ( the icing on the cake ). They told me they were intrigued by Bill but there attention was kept week after week because of Sam. They said they were not familiar with Sam Trammell’s work prior to True Blood and they were so mesmerized by Sam’s performance each week that they started to seek out other movies and TV shows Sam had made.

Please read their story and see the pictures that they had taken at the Eyecon Event below…….

We couldn’t believe it when we saw that a private breakfast with Sam Trammell was going to be available at the EyeCon “True Blood” convention.  We had started watching “True Blood” for the vampires, but soon found that it was Sam, the Everyman shapeshifting bartender, who really captured our hearts, and we weren’t going to let such an opportunity get by if we could help it.

Before the con, however, we couldn’t even imagine how we’d possibly be able to sit and eat eggs and toast with Sam Trammell. It just seemed so surreal. But we had not counted on how charming, easygoing, and sweet Sam is in person. EyeCon had delivered on their promise of lots of intimate encounters with the celebrities throughout the weekend, and Sam had been so genuinely friendly each time, that by the time breakfast rolled around, we felt like we were meeting an old friend for breakfast instead of a “Celebrity.”

He arrived about 8:15 a.m. and immediately charmed us by pouring orange juice for us and our friend Cindy as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Then he inquired as to what we had done the night before, again more like a friend than a celebrity we bought time with. There had been a Fangbangers Ball, which everyone attended, but he said that after that he had stayed up late watching TV. It must have been late indeed because after the bar closed at 1:30 a.m. he was still there at a private table with the other actors from “True Blood”!

The conversation proceeded from there, with Sam asking as many questions of us as we did him. The amazing thing was that he seemed genuinely interested in the details of our lives. I got the sense that he is interested in all kinds of people, and what makes them tick. Perhaps this is what makes him such a good actor, this attention to detail. At any rate, it was very flattering.

Sam revealed that he had the scripts for the first two episodes of Season Three in his suitcase upstairs and that he hadn’t read them yet. He joked that it might be because he was afraid there were more nude scenes for his character (which had been source of much lively discussion at his Q & A the day before) and he didn’t want to know! We said we’d happily scope it out for him but alas, he declined.

We finally had the chance to ask about some of his work besides “True Blood.”  We mentioned “Anonymous Rex”, a sweet and quirky sci-fi movie that he starred in and narrated, that came out in 2004.  Sam paused, smiled and mused, “Yeah… that was… weird.” He then said he had a story about Daniel Baldwin, his co-star in the movie. When the first met, Sam had complimented Daniel on his sneakers and Daniel immediately offered to get him a pair. Sam demurred, was even bit taken aback by the offer, but Daniel insisted, and a pair was delivered in two hours. Sam seemed a bit blown away by that. As well as by working with Faye Dunaway, who was also in the movie.  He said that he was “thrilled” to meet her, and kept thinking “that’s Faye Dunaway! ‘Mommy Dearest’ ‘Bonnie and Clyde’!  He sounded like he had been as excited to meet her as, well, we were to meet him.

Kris and Sam

Kris and Sam

He also talked about drinking Tequila and tomato juice in Mexico with Kiefer Sutherland while filming “Beat”, and said that though it sounds like that would taste gross, it’s actually pretty good. Courtney Love is also in that movie, and Sam diplomatically described her as “staying in her suite” most of the time. He didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone, and in fact seemed excited at having had the chance to work with all these people. No pretension here.

We also asked him about filming episodes for the TV shows “Law and Order: Criminal Intent” and “Medium”. He said he had done them during the same time he was filming the first season of “True Blood” and that he wouldn’t do that again, as he didn’t want to take away from “True Blood” by doing other one-off roles. Sad news indeed for Sam fans, but understandable given how big “True Blood” has become!

During a break from all this discussion, Maryanne and Sam went to the buffet to get some breakfast, and Sam guided her into the kitchen by placing his hand on the small of her back, like a proper gentleman. It was very sweet and characteristic of his behavior throughout the convention. He also stood up when Michael from Billsbabes greeted him, and showed off the medal that Maryanne had just given him. It was of St. Roque, the patron saint of dogs, and Sam seemed very intrigued by it. He put it on right away and wore it the rest of the day, including in all the official photos he took with fans. (The fact that it was silver, to protect him from Bill, may have been its selling point–at least he seemed to appreciate that when we pointed it out.)

Sam and Maryanne

Then he had a question for us regarding “True Blood.” Had we thought that Sam was going to die in the last episode of Season Two? He seemed very curious about this. I hadn’t, but Maryanne said yes, she did, until she saw the white bull. Because Sam had said in an interview that he was going to turn into something very big and very small, and we’d already seen the “small” thing, the fly. We discussed how Sam could have turned into a bull since there wasn’t one around for him to imprint on, and he revealed that as that episode had been originally written, the viewer sees Bill procuring a bull. He was surprised that that scene had been cut. He was, however, very impressed by the scene where Sam kills Maryann. He said it was “brilliantly lit” and “very moving.”

Finally we asked the question that’s been on many a fan girl’s mind. If Lafayette is having erotic dreams of Eric because he drank Eric’s blood, will Sam be having such dreams about Bill in Season Three? Sam chuckled, blushed and said that that was really the reason why he hadn’t read the scripts yet.

Sam and Cindy

All too soon, a handler came by saying that Sam was needed for pictures, but he stayed until the last possible minute, chatting away. Later we all agreed that not only is he the nicest celebrity we’ve ever met, he’s one of the nicest people we’ve met, period. He was especially solicitous of Maryanne, whom he had dubbed his “number one fan” on their first meeting because she was as interested in his other projects   as she was True Blood, and this had seemed to surprise him.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store for him in Season Three!

A Musical Evening with Todd Lowe at EyeCon True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On December - 21 - 2009

Written by co-founder of the Billsbabes and the StephenMoyerWebring Michael (aka SterlingSilverCharm)

toddloweI first saw Todd , outside in the patio area near the front of the hotel, a few days prior to the start of the convention. He looked very handsome in his shades and unruly tussled hair. I think his mane was the first thing I noticed , it looked quite light in the Florida sunshine. We met Todd at the Cocktail Party on Friday Night. He was quite chatty with all the people that were there and had a whole gaggle of girls surrounding him ! All the Billsbabes went up to him and introduced themselves to him. We told him that we thought he was wonderful as Terry and had some of the funniest lines of the show. We talked about Facebook for abit. He had asked me “Why weren’t we Facebook friends?” I told him , “I don’t do that .” (( I thought to myself – I have enough to do with the StephenMoyerWebring……LOL ! ))

I just love his portrayal of Terry – sweet, confused , chivalrous and gentlemanly. His scenes with Carrie Preston are hysterical. They are great together – let’s hope we see more of them in Season 3.

We asked Todd to sign a few shirts, DVD’s, BluRay Discs and his very own CD ( Pilbilly Knights ) for our Billsbabes ” Raffles for Charity ” that will be held on The Vault – TrueBlood-Online.com  in the coming months , and he was more than happy to oblige us. We also made a new shirt for Todd and his character , Terry, which is available in the Billsbabes Shoppe. You can support Todd, his character, and the Brentwood Theatre when you purchase one of these items. ( www.cafepress.com/billsbabe )

toddlowesigningshirttoddloweshirt

In his Q & A , Todd had the audience hysterical as he talked about his favourite line or should I say lines, wearing the black contact lenses, being freezing for the scenes of the orgy and meeting Charlaine Harris and asking her if she knew what character he was playing . He also talked about how he would love to write and direct an episode of True Blood.

After the private supper, Todd was gearing up to perform onstage with the band the convention provided , Nova Echo. The performance was a delight! He was wonderful. I can see where he must love being onstage in front of a live audience, he seems so at ease with it. The audience loved the song and showed their appreciation greatly!

toddloweballTodd seemed to enjoy himself at the Masquerade Party and again was surrounded by gorgeous women. Additionally , the convention host had brought in a few models and dancers dressed in costume for the entertainment of the patrons and actors. They were very entertaining and got everyone involved in the party. Drinks were flowing and outlandishness ensued. A very good time was had by all.

I want to Thank Todd personally for the hospitality he showed to the Billsbabes over the weekend.  This young man was a dear and a delight. I wish him great  success with his band Pilbilly Knights and further success on True Blood.  I do hope we get to see more of his character Terry  in Season 3 .

I want to thank all the BillsBabes that attended… TUTU, GYM , CAM and FALLEN – I had a great time with you guys…..

A Masquerade Ball with Ashley Jones

Ashley at the Friday Night Cocktail Party

Ashley at the Friday Night Cocktail Party

We first met Ashley on Friday Night at the Cocktail Party. When you first see her – you stop in your tracks – she is absolutely stunning. Those eyes are amazing. I almost felt uncomfortable looking at her, trying to drink her all in at that moment; she probably felt my hesitation in meeting her. She is so much more than just another blonde bombshell. She is the epitome of a lady – sweet, kind, dainty, graceful and did I mention a fantastic actress.

She charmed us as Daphne – the sly, loving, sweet, cunning waitress of Merlotte’s in True Blood. I do hope that we get to see her reprise her role as Daphne on True Blood in Season 3. I think I am not the only one that saw an opening for Daphne’s return when we see Sam shedding a tear on the porch and a deer in the background watching him. They could easily bring her back as a shapeshifting vampire. (Vampires don’t need a heart after all, perhaps Bill & Sam made another deal before heading to kill Maryanne and this was part of the bargain – making Daphne a vampire).

I really loved her scenes with Sam, it gave a much needed boost to the love story and romance that (I felt) was lacking in Season 2 (comparing it to Season 1). I for one, miss the romance of Season One that Sookie/Bill brought to the screen and adored the Daphne/Sam romance that was brought forth in Season 2. Let’s hope they continue that! Sam needs a girlfriend and a bit of happiness in one corner of his life. So do we.

We had asked Ashley to sign a few shirts, DVD’s and BluRay Discs for our Billsbabes “Raffles for Charity” that will be held on The Vault – TrueBlood-Online.com in the coming weeks, and without hesitation, she happily obliged. We also made a new shirt for Ashley and her character, Daphne that will appear in the Billsbabes Shoppe. You can support Ashley, her character and the Brentwood Theatre by purchasing one her items.

At the Q&A, Ashley charmed the audience as she talked about her scene with Sam on top of the pool table, the lagoon swimming scene out at the Warner Brothers Ranch, the practical jokes that everyone plays on each other and how she got her role on True Blood.

Ashley's arrival to the Masquerade Party

The Babes had a great time at the Masquerade Party which was held after our supper. We were able to mix and mingle with the cast and people that we had seen and met all weekend long. What a nice way to wrap up the weekend with this wonderful party. With music in the background and snippets of scenes from True Blood projected up to the back of the room, the place was alight. People were dancing, some in costume (so many clever costumes) that it made the experience that much more enjoyable.

Allan Hyde and Nelsan Ellis jumped into a faux coffin that was set up in the corner of the room. They were very entertaining. Ashley joined them a few minutes later. A good time was had by all.

I want to personally thank Ashley for the kindness that she afforded the Billsbabes over the entire weekend. She was more than generous with the time that she spent with us. You can see Ashley in The Bold and The Beautiful. I hope she will be reprising he role as Daphne Landry in True Blood – Season 3. I hope they bring this young lady back to True Blood, even if it is in flashbacks. There is so much that can be done with her character. She is fan favorite.

We have added some Wallpapers of Daphne for your enjoyment. Click them to enlarge and right click to set them as your desktop wallpaper.

The EyeCon event last month in Orlando, Florida was Allan Hyde’s first mass encounter with the True Blood fans. The 19 year old Danish actor who portrayed Godric in the second season and who will be back in the third season, tells The Vault how he experienced that weekend.

“EyeCon was indeed my first convention ever and also my first real feeling of how big the fan base is. I had of course experienced the occasional hold up on the street and random sweet comments but nothing this intense. It was mind-blowing. I really had fun but wow it wore me out. Slept like a baby all the way back to Denmark.”

Not having experienced anything like this before Allan really didn’t know what to expect of the convention. “My mind was all set on going back home to Denmark after a good 4 months out here”, says Allan. “So this was kind of just “a something I needed to do before I could do my family-thing”. It ended up being a great experience in itself. I got to live the “celebrity-life” for a weekend and then hide away after. It was fun. Don’t know whether I would want to live that permanently though…”

“The atmosphere was really cozy”, Allan continues about the weekend in the Florida hotel. “ I believe it was a smaller convention and the fact that it was only for True Blood made it more intimate. It was the same crowd you met every day and got a feeling of knowing people throughout the weekend.”

“People were so great”, he adds. “Some were thankful for what Godric brought to the show and nonchalant, others were shy and intimidated by me talking to them and others were so excited to see “Godric” that they shed a tear. It was unbelievably awesome!”

Did you enjoy answering the fans’ questions in the Q&A?
“The Q&A was fun. I finally got to tell my story from my POV to some people who wanted to hear about it. Of course my family and friends really want to know about it but they don’t know how big True Blood is and so forth – this was fun talking to people on the same page as me. I must admit I was a little nervous to begin with as I’m sure the audience could feel. But as time went by I loosened up and got comfortable. I might have been over sharing at points – but whatever… ;)”

At the autograph signing session the fans didn’t bring him anything weird so sign. “Not like Nelsan [Ellis] who got his face tattooed onto this guy’s calf. ;)”.

wolfshirt2

Allan posted a photo on his twitter account where he is wearing a wolf shirt he received from a fan. He plays a vampire… so where does this fascination for wolves come from?

“I received 3 wolf shirts, and they have been all over the internet after that”, Allan explains. “It’s become a much bigger deal than meant for. It was merely an inside joke between a friend and I. We were at a flea-market but didn’t really need anything so we decided to look for this really specific item of clothing – the wolf shirt – as an excuse to be there. We never found it but made it into an obsession of ours to find one. I twittered about it not knowing anyone would pay special attention to it and suddenly at the EyeCon I got bombarded with wolf shirts. It’s awesome – but I really had a hard time fitting them into my luggage on my way back. Glad I did though – they are a rarity in Denmark.”

One last question for you, Allan. The fans were exhausted after this weekend, how about you?
“I was a zombie!”

Breakfast with Allan Hyde at EyeCon True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On November - 27 - 2009

On November 15, Allan Hyde who portrays Godric on True Blood had breakfast with 5 Billsbabes, Michael (aka SterlingSilverCharm) co-founder of the Billsbabes and the StephenMoyerWebring  was one of them. Following her story about the event.

Allan Hyde’s mother asked him if he knew he was being auctioned away on eBay. LOL ! The funnier part of this story is “WHO” he was going to …… His mother probably never dreamed it would be a group of women equal to or older than her age – women that would treat her beautiful son like their own. He treated everyone with dignity, respect and sweetness. While we all spent time with Allan over the weekend, the breakfast was a DELIGHT!

allenhydebreakfast

When we sat down for breakfast I told Allan that I finally had my first night of sleep (4-5 hours) in the past 3 days. I was exhausted and it showed. I told him that the mattress in the hotel was so awful, that on that second night I was there, I had to go out to the store and buy one to bring in so that I could get a decent night’s sleep. I know, it’s a bit over-the-top and I think I got the same reaction from him that I’m sure some of you have on your face reading this …LOL! But I could not spend another night on that mattress. I would have rather been on a rack of nails.

When I met Allan on Friday night, the first words out of my mouth were “I’m sorry if I disappoint you and you were hoping for a 20 something year old with blonde hair, but you are stuck with me for breakfast”. He was very sweet and seemed generally excited to see that he would be having breakfast with some of Stephen Moyer’s Original Billsbabes and its Founder.

allanhydeThis young man was quite impressive for his scant 19 years. (He turns 20 next month) He must be an old soul. He was very mature, sweet, unassuming, savvy and smart. His onscreen level of maturity has surpassed the awkward; angst filled teenage boy type that one finds these days on TV in some of these teenage shows on the CW, FOX or Nickelodeon. I would prefer to see him in more adult roles. He can pull it off. When I watch him, I see James Dean, albeit a young James Dean. I think with proper directorial guidance he will be a powerhouse. What most impressed me about him was that he knows in which direction he wants his career path to take. He will be mature in his decisions and without haste. He has a plan and I hope that the people that surround him will help him achieve it. I have much faith and belief in him and his ability.

We had very many candid personal conversations with this brilliant young man – that of which I will not share, but most were pleasant stories about his role as Godric in Season 2 and his reoccurrence in Season 3. (Personal note: I do hope that we are not limited to just one or two episode(s) with Allan for S3).

All anyone has to do is watch this young phenom in action in (what I call the pinnacle of Season 2 which could have easily been the Season Ender) Episode 9, I Will Rise Up. This was HIS episode – he OWNED it. Actually, I felt that he owned Episode 8, Time bomb, as well. I could not take my eyes off of him. The brilliant writing and Allan’s commanding performance in Episode 9 left us wanting more, more Godric – more Allan.

allanhydecoffin

He took direction and executed beautifully. I can see where this young man is unafraid of anything a director would throw his way. I bet he is a dream to work with – no fear – a director’s dream. This is evidenced by his past independent work. I believe the Godric character will end up as one of True Blood’s cult figures by the time they get to a Series Finale. It was THAT good. He was THAT good. I thank him for one of the most riveting scenes (the Rooftop Scene) on TV to date. His performance was stellar and award winning as was Anders Skarsgård’s performance.

I do hope that HBO will put this uber-talented young man in for consideration this award season – he deserves it and I think he will win. I made a bet with him that I will see him at the GG’s this coming January, statuette in hand.

allanhydesigningallanhydesignin

We asked Allan to sign a few shirts and items for our Billsbabes “Raffles for Charities “, these items will be listed on Trueblood-Online.com – The Vault in the next few days /weeks. We also made a few shirts for his character, Godric (a fan favorite) and placed them in the Billsbabes Shoppe (www.cafepress.com/billsbabe) where you can purchase them and show support, not only for Allan, but for the Brentwood Theatre, in which Stephen Moyer is a patron.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet this young man and I wish him nothing but health , happiness and luck in all his endeavors and cannot wait to see him in other films and of course , True Blood when they start back up in June 2010.

The Vault’s co-admin Lynnpd made a few new wallpapers for Allan/Godric Fans. They are 1280×800, click them to enlarge and right click to set them as your desktop wallpaper.

In The Company of Nelsan Ellis ….. at EyeCon True Blood

In The Company of Nelsan Ellis …..  at EyeCon True Blood

Written by co-founder of the Billsbabes and the StephenMoyerWebring Michael (aka SterlingSilverCharm)

Nelsan Ellis at the cocktail party

Nelsan Ellis at the cocktail party

When we first met Nelsan Ellis at the Friday night Cocktail Party, he was very quiet and reserved and somewhat taken aback by all the people that surrounded him.  All the Billsbabes went up to him and introduced themselves.  He seemed (to me) very shy and bashful but very sweet.  I think he may have been overwhelmed as evidenced in his Q&A – he thought that other people from other shows would be there – not just complete focus on the 5 actors from True Blood.  As time passed, over the weekend, he seemed more at ease with his surroundings and the people that attended.

We asked Nelsan to sign a few items for the Billsbabes, “Raffles for Charity” that will take place on Trueblood-Online.com – The Vault in the coming weeks. He happily obliged us and signed a series of Shirts, DVD’s and BluRay discs. We also made him a Team Lafayette Shirt that is now available in the Billsbabes Shoppe (www.cafepress.com/billsbabe). You can support him, his character name and the Brentwood Theatre when you purchase one.

Nelsan signs his Team Lafayette "Clutching my pearls" t-shirt

nelsanellissigns2The Billsbabes were lucky enough to have supper with Nelsan. He regaled the Babes with tales of Stephen Moyer and what that man went thru to bring to us one of our favorite scenes – The Graveyard Scene …. God Bless Steve for loving his craft and being a dedicated actor. (I know 297 Babes that are currently applying for a makeup artist position with HBO LOLOL!!)

PER BILLSBABES CAMELOT: (who sat at Nelson’s Table)

During the supper, Nelsan also talked about the abuse he took from the horse while filming Secretariat. He said he had been bitten, kicked and stepped on and several times the horse walked off camera. (Was the horse Union I thought? LOL!) Nelsan wasn’t about to try to stop him. They couldn’t give the horse treats to control him, as he would then be looking for them while they were filming.

He also talked about how they hired actual homeless people for “The Soloist”; and how originally he was only going to be basically an extra, but they liked him so much they gave him more lines.

Nelsan was much more animated and FUNNNNY as time went by – the stories he told at the Q&A were hysterical. He had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand with stories of he & Rutina in New York City – had the crowd in a fit of laughter with the story of Mehcad Brooks and his “specially made sock” that would not stay on. LOL ! He has such a flair for funny, that he should try his hand at stand-up … he was hysterical!

truebloodeyecon

Nelsan joined my table for a short while and talked about his favorite scenes – Season One – “Aids Burger Scene”. I loved that scene too. I thought he was fantastic in it. His sheer power and control in that scene was a showstopper for me. He makes his portrayal of the two sides of Lafayette seem so effortless. When I see him, I SEE Lafayette. I would love to see this young man (and he is a young man of 28 and I am old enough to be his mother! LOL! ) in some sort of role in the future that includes him as THE VILLIAN …. A real nasty one! Wouldn’t he make a divine Riddler in the next install of the Batman series? I can totally see him in that vicious, cunning, yet slightly offbeat/dark comedic role. I look forward to seeing him in whichever direction his career may take or forum he may land. I’m so glad that Alan Ball did not kill his character off in the first season of True Blood – he adds an element to the show that, if he were not there, would leave a gaping hole. He is truly an asset to the show and brilliant actor. I cannot wait to see what is in store for Lafayette in Season 3.

I want to personally thank Nelsan for being so affable and courteous to the Billsbabes during the convention. We were all mesmerized by his candor and wit. This is a young man to watch in the future. He will have a new film coming out in 2010 – Secretariat , in which he will be playing the role of Eddie Sweat and, of course , will reprise his role as Lafayette Reynolds in True Blood , June 2010.

Spending time with Sam Trammell at EyeCon True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On November - 19 - 2009

The Billsbabes represented The StephenMoyerWebring.com which was a sponsor of the True Blood Eyecon Event in Orlando Florida – November 13-15, 2009.

Sam Trammell …… What more can I say – this young man needs no introduction – He is a gentleman thru and thru. He’s charming, intelligent, bright, beautiful and quick witted – perhaps even more so than Stephen Moyer. Did I mention that he has the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever had the pleasure to look upon, besides a smile that would light up New York City? His gorgeousness is not the only aspect to this talented young man, he has “IT”. He is the complete package – beauty, brains, superb acting skills, and a penchant for our world’s oceans and our suffering Earth. What more could a girl ask for?

When I met Sam on Friday night at the Cocktail Party, he was engaging, forthright and direct. He was very personable and sweet, maybe a bit taken aback by me. We all introduced ourselves to him so that he knew whom we represented, Stephen Moyer’s Billsbabes. Yes, there are a lot of us worldwide, but as he was told, we do spread the love around and he has his own Forum on the Yuku board. I guess that would make Michael his Web mistress. We did leave early from that party as we were going to The Palm for dinner, but decided it was too late and headed for Fish Bones instead.

samtrammeleyecon1

We saw Sam and spent quite a bit of time with him throughout the weekend, more so than the other actors. He was gracious enough to sign a few items for our Billsbabes “Raffles for Charity” on www.Trueblood-Online.com – The Vault.
We also had a few novelties from our Billsbabes Shoppe, (www.cafepress.com/billsbabe) that we carry as regular items, for Sam’s character Sam that we also had him sign for charity as well. We asked him his favorite charity and he told us Oceana. We are in contact with Oceana and will proceed with raffle items signed by Sam and the cast for this great organization in a few weeks. You can find more information at http://na.oceana.org on this wonderful charity.

Sam signs the raffle items.

At Saturday night’s supper with Sam, he could not have been more engaging. The entire table was charmed by him. The supper conversation was very personal and intimate and I will not discuss in detail what was said as that was private, but the entire table was enthralled with this young man’s wit and we had many laughs. (On a personal note: I do commend him for his choice of vehicle, it will offset my carbon footprint – which is HUGE! LOL! – I will try to do better …. ) As conversation flowed, I prompted him as to which director he would like to work with. Sam expressed his desire to work with director Wes Anderson (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited). He also expressed a keen interest in helming behind the camera and directing. I would love to see this happen for him. We were talking about what genre he would like to start with and it was “horror “. I thought to myself ,hmmmm, Stephen King has a new book coming out called THE WIND THROUGH THE KEYHOLE…. (I am always thinking) I would love to see this young man direct , although I do hope he does not deny us his presence in front of the camera. I would also love to see this Tony Nominated actor back on Broadway again. Perhaps, in one of his breaks in filming True Blood, we will have the pleasure of seeing this diverse actor once again on the stage. That is a ticket I will not miss.

As I feel, Season One belonged to Anna and Steve and Season Two belonged to Anders Skarsgard and Michelle Forbes, I sure do hope that Season Three is the Year of the Dog, err, moreover the Year of Sam Merlotte and Sam Trammell. He is after all, the third top liner. I hope they feature this consummate professional all season long. He is a gifted, thoughtful actor that (to me) seemed to be on the back burner in Season 2. I wanted to see more of him. His performance in the Season Ender (Episode 12 – Beyond Here Lies Nothin’) from the moment Bill dragged him out of the crowd to the end was superb and award winning. I hope that HBO puts this multi talented, multi faceted actor in for consideration for the awards season this year. He deserves it for this performance alone. See you at the GG’s Sam.

On another note, I was a little dismayed when I picked up a copy of GQ and Sam was noticeably missing. He should have been there. I would love to see Sam in a few magazine or fashion shoots. It would give us girls something to talk about in between his projects. You can see Sam in his new film coming out in 2010 called “The Details” and of course in June 2010 in True Blood.

samsbabesI want to personally thank Sam for his hospitality and graciousness that he showed to all the Billsbabes this past weekend – he was an absolute gem and a gentleman. They could not have selected a better ambassador to have brought to the public in a convention setting than this young man. He’s an absolute doll. I have made a new shirt that will debut in the Billsbabes Shoppe for this young man’s fans……Samsbabes…… I will be the first to order, as well as new Sam Wallpapers and YouTube Videos that will be debuting on The Vault in the next few days/weeks.

Masquerade Fangbangers Ball at EyeCon True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On November - 18 - 2009

cocktailparty7-600Saturday night (November 14) True Blood fans dressed up for the Masquerade Fangbangers Ball at the EyeCon Convention in Orlando. The Ballroom of the Florida Hotel was appropriately decorated with vampire related items and even coffins and many Truebies dressed up for the occasion in various colorful costumes.
Sam, Nelsan, Ashley, Todd and Allan enjoyed themselves schmoozing with the fans and giving many of them private time and conversations. They were movin’ and shakin’ on the dance floor and taking photos of one another in and out of the coffins.
The cast only had a ten minute obligation to remain at the Ball, needless to say they were there for a few hours!

Todd Lowe performed a song with the band The Nova Echo.
