SterlingSilverCharm:
When I attended the Eyecon event in Orlando, I met all sorts of wonderful people, some were aware of the StephenMoyer Webring and some were not, but all adored the show and the cast and some especially adored – the gorgeous Sam Trammell.
I first met Kris and MaryAnne at the private supper we had with Sam. They are from Philly – I do not envy them this cold weather and are very happy to be in hot weather.
I have learned over time and from the members of the yuku board, that their love for the show is not limited to just one type of person or a specific career path. The Yuku board has a diverse group of ladies and gentleman perusing it’s hallways, from Government Workers, to Doctors, Nurses and Physical Therapists to Published Writers and Entertainment Industry people; from Web Designers to School Teachers to Lawyers and Language Translators; Prison Guards to Homemakers and Linguistics Specialists. My friend MaryAnne works as a medical records coder and Kris was a nightclub DJ , although, she thinks she is still trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up !
Kris and MaryAnne were brought to True Blood because of their keen interest in vampires (their Anne Rice online fandom ) and because True Blood was produced by HBO ( the icing on the cake ). They told me they were intrigued by Bill but there attention was kept week after week because of Sam. They said they were not familiar with Sam Trammell’s work prior to True Blood and they were so mesmerized by Sam’s performance each week that they started to seek out other movies and TV shows Sam had made.
Please read their story and see the pictures that they had taken at the Eyecon Event below…….

We couldn’t believe it when we saw that a private breakfast with Sam Trammell was going to be available at the EyeCon “True Blood” convention. We had started watching “True Blood” for the vampires, but soon found that it was Sam, the Everyman shapeshifting bartender, who really captured our hearts, and we weren’t going to let such an opportunity get by if we could help it.
Before the con, however, we couldn’t even imagine how we’d possibly be able to sit and eat eggs and toast with Sam Trammell. It just seemed so surreal. But we had not counted on how charming, easygoing, and sweet Sam is in person. EyeCon had delivered on their promise of lots of intimate encounters with the celebrities throughout the weekend, and Sam had been so genuinely friendly each time, that by the time breakfast rolled around, we felt like we were meeting an old friend for breakfast instead of a “Celebrity.”
He arrived about 8:15 a.m. and immediately charmed us by pouring orange juice for us and our friend Cindy as if it was the most natural thing in the world. Then he inquired as to what we had done the night before, again more like a friend than a celebrity we bought time with. There had been a Fangbangers Ball, which everyone attended, but he said that after that he had stayed up late watching TV. It must have been late indeed because after the bar closed at 1:30 a.m. he was still there at a private table with the other actors from “True Blood”!
The conversation proceeded from there, with Sam asking as many questions of us as we did him. The amazing thing was that he seemed genuinely interested in the details of our lives. I got the sense that he is interested in all kinds of people, and what makes them tick. Perhaps this is what makes him such a good actor, this attention to detail. At any rate, it was very flattering.
Sam revealed that he had the scripts for the first two episodes of Season Three in his suitcase upstairs and that he hadn’t read them yet. He joked that it might be because he was afraid there were more nude scenes for his character (which had been source of much lively discussion at his Q & A the day before) and he didn’t want to know! We said we’d happily scope it out for him but alas, he declined.
We finally had the chance to ask about some of his work besides “True Blood.” We mentioned “Anonymous Rex”, a sweet and quirky sci-fi movie that he starred in and narrated, that came out in 2004. Sam paused, smiled and mused, “Yeah… that was… weird.” He then said he had a story about Daniel Baldwin, his co-star in the movie. When the first met, Sam had complimented Daniel on his sneakers and Daniel immediately offered to get him a pair. Sam demurred, was even bit taken aback by the offer, but Daniel insisted, and a pair was delivered in two hours. Sam seemed a bit blown away by that. As well as by working with Faye Dunaway, who was also in the movie. He said that he was “thrilled” to meet her, and kept thinking “that’s Faye Dunaway! ‘Mommy Dearest’ ‘Bonnie and Clyde’! He sounded like he had been as excited to meet her as, well, we were to meet him.

Kris and Sam
He also talked about drinking Tequila and tomato juice in Mexico with Kiefer Sutherland while filming “Beat”, and said that though it sounds like that would taste gross, it’s actually pretty good. Courtney Love is also in that movie, and Sam diplomatically described her as “staying in her suite” most of the time. He didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone, and in fact seemed excited at having had the chance to work with all these people. No pretension here.
We also asked him about filming episodes for the TV shows “Law and Order: Criminal Intent” and “Medium”. He said he had done them during the same time he was filming the first season of “True Blood” and that he wouldn’t do that again, as he didn’t want to take away from “True Blood” by doing other one-off roles. Sad news indeed for Sam fans, but understandable given how big “True Blood” has become!
During a break from all this discussion, Maryanne and Sam went to the buffet to get some breakfast, and Sam guided her into the kitchen by placing his hand on the small of her back, like a proper gentleman. It was very sweet and characteristic of his behavior throughout the convention. He also stood up when Michael from Billsbabes greeted him, and showed off the medal that Maryanne had just given him. It was of St. Roque, the patron saint of dogs, and Sam seemed very intrigued by it. He put it on right away and wore it the rest of the day, including in all the official photos he took with fans. (The fact that it was silver, to protect him from Bill, may have been its selling point–at least he seemed to appreciate that when we pointed it out.)

Sam and Maryanne
Then he had a question for us regarding “True Blood.” Had we thought that Sam was going to die in the last episode of Season Two? He seemed very curious about this. I hadn’t, but Maryanne said yes, she did, until she saw the white bull. Because Sam had said in an interview that he was going to turn into something very big and very small, and we’d already seen the “small” thing, the fly. We discussed how Sam could have turned into a bull since there wasn’t one around for him to imprint on, and he revealed that as that episode had been originally written, the viewer sees Bill procuring a bull. He was surprised that that scene had been cut. He was, however, very impressed by the scene where Sam kills Maryann. He said it was “brilliantly lit” and “very moving.”
Finally we asked the question that’s been on many a fan girl’s mind. If Lafayette is having erotic dreams of Eric because he drank Eric’s blood, will Sam be having such dreams about Bill in Season Three? Sam chuckled, blushed and said that that was really the reason why he hadn’t read the scripts yet.

Sam and Cindy
All too soon, a handler came by saying that Sam was needed for pictures, but he stayed until the last possible minute, chatting away. Later we all agreed that not only is he the nicest celebrity we’ve ever met, he’s one of the nicest people we’ve met, period. He was especially solicitous of Maryanne, whom he had dubbed his “number one fan” on their first meeting because she was as interested in his other projects as she was True Blood, and this had seemed to surprise him.
We can’t wait to see what’s in store for him in Season Three!

For your viewing pleasure we have added some Sam Trammell icons for you.

I first saw Todd , outside in the patio area near the front of the hotel, a few days prior to the start of the convention. He looked very handsome in his shades and unruly tussled hair. I think his mane was the first thing I noticed , it looked quite light in the Florida sunshine. We met Todd at the Cocktail Party on Friday Night. He was quite chatty with all the people that were there and had a whole gaggle of girls surrounding him ! All the Billsbabes went up to him and introduced themselves to him. We told him that we thought he was wonderful as Terry and had some of the funniest lines of the show. We talked about Facebook for abit. He had asked me “Why weren’t we Facebook friends?” I told him , “I don’t do that .” (( I thought to myself – I have enough to do with the StephenMoyerWebring……LOL ! ))
Todd seemed to enjoy himself at the Masquerade Party and again was surrounded by gorgeous women. Additionally , the convention host had brought in a few models and dancers dressed in costume for the entertainment of the patrons and actors. They were very entertaining and got everyone involved in the party. Drinks were flowing and outlandishness ensued. A very good time was had by all.

This young man was quite impressive for his scant 19 years. (He turns 20 next month) He must be an old soul. He was very mature, sweet, unassuming, savvy and smart. His onscreen level of maturity has surpassed the awkward; angst filled teenage boy type that one finds these days on TV in some of these teenage shows on the CW, FOX or Nickelodeon. I would prefer to see him in more adult roles. He can pull it off. When I watch him, I see James Dean, albeit a young James Dean. I think with proper directorial guidance he will be a powerhouse. What most impressed me about him was that he knows in which direction he wants his career path to take. He will be mature in his decisions and without haste. He has a plan and I hope that the people that surround him will help him achieve it. I have much faith and belief in him and his ability.

The Billsbabes were lucky enough to have supper with Nelsan. He regaled the Babes with tales of Stephen Moyer and what that man went thru to bring to us one of our favorite scenes – The Graveyard Scene …. God Bless Steve for loving his craft and being a dedicated actor. (I know 297 Babes that are currently applying for a makeup artist position with HBO LOLOL!!)

Saturday night (November 14) True Blood fans dressed up for the Masquerade Fangbangers Ball at the EyeCon Convention in Orlando. The Ballroom of the Florida Hotel was appropriately decorated with vampire related items and even coffins and many Truebies dressed up for the occasion in various colorful costumes.
