Anna Paquin dismisses rumors of an engagement

A couple of days ago the rumor of an engagement between Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer spread over the internet through the True Blood message boards, Twitter, Facebook and Myspace. The source was the gossip magazine Star, who claimed to have received the happy news from an anonymous source.
Anna Paquin denies the engagement and dismisses all the rumors, with her publicist insisting they are “not true.” (source: Starpulse)
Yesterday I attended the live chat Anna had with fans on The Envelop (LA Times) website where Anna was asked if she has a Myspace account, she reacted to that and the alleged engagement that was announced on that page:
Anna Paquin: “I DO NOT HAVE A MY SPACE ACCOUNT!!!! yeah i love reading things about my life that are FICTION. a while back someone posed as me on facebook and said i was in hospital. which was funny because i was on set at the time and have never been in hospital since i was born. thought it was a bit thoughtless because if that info trickled out to friends or family they would be worried… ya know?”
Very active in diffusing the rumor of the alleged engagement were the (fake) Anna Paquin Myspace page and the (fake) Facebook account that is connected to this page. I have posted about these fake profiles several times on The Vault and on the Facebook page of The Vault, to let the fans know that those pages are not affiliated with Ms. Paquin. But, needless to say, hardly anybody believed me and I was removed from the “Anna Paquin” Facebook account. But not before taking several screenshots.

Several True Blood cast members hosted a party Saturday May 2 in the MGM’s Tabú Lounge in Las Vegas.
As they posed for pictures on the red carpet, a sea of fans lined-up to get a glimpse of stars. All members of the cast stopped to shake hands and sign autographs as admirers gushed about their obsession with the show. The group brought along an entourage of friends and additional members of the hit series to celebrate the wrap of the first season and anticipation of season two beginning June 14.
Paquin, Moyer, Trammell, Skarsgard and Bauer partied together enjoying the high-energy of the award-winning lounge. The on- and off-screen couple, Paquin and Moyer were seen embracing each other and kissing throughout the evening, never letting each other out of sight. (source)

The HBO pre-party at Wolfgang Puck’s, a scene that was littered with boldface names – Jeremy Piven of Entourage fame, David Arquette (of Courteney Cox fame), Bryan Cranston of Breaking Bad, and seemingly the entire cast of True Blood, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer among them, all huddled together at a table in the corner drinking primarily Acqua Panna and not, disappointingly, blood.
