True Blood – Vampire for Grown Ups Billboards

Posted by Lynnpd On August - 15 - 2012

True Blood will be premiering across the pond in the fall and there are new signs showing up all over the world promoting the show. Here’s a  new “twist”, or should I say “impaling” sign promoting the new season that are seen in New Zealand.  I have to admit that the US promotion was no where as bold.

IMPALED BILLBOARD: To differentiate True blood from the plethora of teen vampire shows, this ad agency as positioned our favorite show as “Vampires for Grown Ups.” They brought this to life on a billboard by driving a two meter long stake through the heart of one of th elead characters.  The stake then protruded right out the other side into an ad for a (courageous) local underwear brand – creating a large unmistakable bulge in a very inappropriate place.

True Blood is once again featured in Entertainment Weekly Magazine in the June 22, 2012 issue. There’s an article about the premiere where they call it “swift and streamlined, lean and mean, the fifth season of True Blood has commenced with gratifying energy” and it’s fun to see that Pam’s Walmart outfit made the Bullseye.

What a treat from EW! Not 1 but 11 True Blood covers on their latest issue on stands Friday, June 8.

You can collect all issues at once directly from the EW website here.

In this issue Alan Ball explains were he found the inspiration for season 5.

“My first instinct about going into religion and politics was from watching Michele Bachmann, who thinks she has a direct line to God.” Ball told EW. “What would happen if she became president? A lot of right-wingers would like to see a theocracy in America. From there we thought, ‘What would a vampire theocracy be and how would you justify it? What kind of impact would it have on humans?’”

The result is a battle between the Tru Blood-sipping Authority, headed by Roman Zimojic (Christopher Meloni), and religious extremists like the Sanguinistas, who believe humans were created by God for one purpose only: to serve as a hearty meal. “Sanguine is from the Latin word for blood, and I was trying to find a name that like a real movement,” explains Ball.

New True Blood Season 5 Footage in “The Buzz”

Posted by Lynnpd On June - 2 - 2012

Go on the red carpet with the Buzz and the cast of “True Blood” as they talk about what to expect in the new season and also see new footage from the show including this lovely scene of Bill and Eric. Could this be the contraption that we posted yesterday?

And don’t miss the season premiere next Sunday, June 10 at 9pm only on HBO.

I don’t know if True Blood is being advertised all over your town, but it’s sure all over Los Angeles. We’ve had our searchers out looking for more advertisements for Season 5 and here are some of the results.  We’ve found Sookie’s Season 5 poster on a bus and on a building on Sunset Boulevard.  We’ve also found Lafayette and Alcide’s posters on bus stop benches.  Also, we found some “BILL” boards too.

Have you seen any True Blood ads in your town? If so, send us your pics and we’ll post them her on The Vault.
