Official Descriptions for True Blood Episodes 11 and 12

Posted by Lynnpd On August - 6 - 2012

Could the True Blood season already be coming to an end?  It’s hard to believe we will see the last two episodes at the end of this month. HBO has released the episode descriptions for  these last two episodes, Episode 11, “Sunset,” and Episode 12, “Save Yourself.”

Season 5 Episodes 11-12 Official Descriptions

True Blood Episode 11 of the season is “Sunset,” airing on August 19.

Slipping further into religious fervor, Bill (Stephen Moyer) gives Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll) an order she’s loath to carry out. Armed with a damning video of Russell (Denis O’Hare) and Steve (Michael McMillian), the military delivers an ultimatum to the Authority. Claude (Giles Matthey) and Maurella (Kristina Anapau) take Sookie (Anna Paquin) to meet the faerie elder, who may know something about an ancient family secret. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) reconnects with his father; Sam (Sam Trammell) and Luna (Janina Gavankar) hitch a ride into the Authority.”

True Blood Episode 12 “Save Yourself” is the True Blood season 5 finale, airing on August 26.

“Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) embarks on a final, desperate mission to overthrow the Authority—and save Bill from losing his humanity. Andy (Chris Bauer) faces the consequences of a light pact he made; Alcide readies for a second showdown with J.D. (Louis Herthum); Sam and Luna test their limits in trying to escape the Authority.”

True Blood’s Steve Newlin (Michael McMillian) has successfully planted himself in a place of power within the Vampire Authority. And, he has also been able to rouse the interest of none other than the former King of Mississippi, Russell Edgington (Denis O’Hare). How will the formerly vampire-hating baby vamp survive in the impending battle between the mainstreamers and the Sanguinistas? TVGuide.com turned to McMillian to get the scoop, including the future for Steve and his human crush Jason (Ryan Kwanten), and Bill (Stephen Moyer) and Eric’s (Alexander Skarsgard) involvement with the Authority moving forward.

SPOILER ALERT!

Steve Newlin began cozying up to Russell Edgington in last Sunday’s episode.
Michael McMillian: Well, it’s sort of a May-December romance. [Laughs] Russell’s a much older and more powerful vampire. It’s interesting because when Steve was human, Russell was somebody that Steve targeted as the example of an evil vampire, but I think Steve’s very attracted to power. He’s suffering a heartbreak from Jason Stackhouse. Here comes this distinguished gentleman into his life. I think he’s quite taken.

How does their new friendship compare to Russell and Talbot’s (Theo Alexander) relationship?
McMillian: I think that there’s a spirit in common with Russell and Talbot’s relationship, but Russell and Steve kind of have their own thing, which is fun. You’ll see there’s some great stuff coming up between the two of them. But ultimately, as with Steve coming out and being with Jason, he’s a really funny character. I always try to ground him in reality and always try to keep the emotional truth alive underneath the humor.

With the war between the Sanguinistas and the mainstreamers ramping up, is it a good idea for Steve to be hanging around the ultimate enemy right now?
McMillian: That would depend on whether or not Russell really is the ultimate enemy. I think the two of them are both acting in their personal best interests. You’ll see that as the season plays out. I think Steve is really happy that he’s not being killed off and is allowed into the Authority. I think he just can’t believe his luck. He’s a survivalist. He is going to go wherever he thinks he’s going to do best.

Is he completely over Jason or will we see more interaction between the two of them?
McMillian: There’s more Jason and Steve. Whatever happens, I think Jason will always be that first love in Steve’s eyes. I don’t think you ever really get over that person.

Since Steve is the new Nan Flanagan (Jessica Tuck), how will he spin the Authority’s killing spree in New Orleans?
McMillian: That’s a really good question. That’s where his mastery of spin comes into play. He’s definitely going to be called upon to do that in the next few weeks as things heat up between vampires and humans. It’s really fun how that plays out and how that goes down.

Because the Authority is going public in saying they’re no longer trying to mainstream, will more vampires who were following the rules start to fall in line?
McMillian: Possibly. We’ll see how this authoritarian influence plays out because basically Roman has been the letter of the law for the past how many centuries. Roman was dictating how vampires should behave. It was really his movement to mainstream. We’ve seen over the past few seasons that mainstreaming itself has been very ambiguous. There are characters that have cut the corners with it. Vampires who were mainstreaming because they’re following the letter of the law are now going to go, “OK, they’re saying this is OK now so I’m free to do whatever I want, I guess.” That’s really what the second half of the season is about.

At the same time, we also know from the established mythology that vampires who get together and form in nests can really start to behave in really terrible ways. That’s kind of what’s happening already within the Authority.

Yes, and Eric is already trying to turn against it.
McMillian: Well, I think Eric actually has more in common with Russell and Steve in the sense that I think he’s definitely a survivalist and he’s always acted in his best interests. Really what that moment when he sees Godric is about is less about killing all these humans in this bar is wrong and more about saving Nora, his vampire sister, and getting her out of that situation. I think that’s really what Eric cares the most about. We’ve seen Eric tear humans limb from limb in seasons past, but I think that Eric falling into a nest and Eric being dictated to is something that he’s never really gelled with. I think his interests really lie in getting Nora out of this cult mindset.

Do you think Bill will fall into it?
McMillian: It’s interesting because I think that Bill has always clearly been a mainstreamer at heart. As far as we know, the only people he’s really fed on are people that he’s been in a relationship with. I think everyone’s playing a game at this point. I think he keeps his cards close to his chest. Obviously, he was keeping a secret from Sookie for three seasons that he had been sent there by Sophie to spy on her originally. Whether or not Bill is falling into step with the Authority and the new agenda is a bit of a mystery in the second half of the season.

But Steve has definitely fallen into it.
McMillian: Yeah. Steve’s a baby vamp. All he wants to do is eat, kill and sleep around. His hormones are going crazy right now as a vampire. He has absolutely really no control over his own impulses. He’s been invited to sit at the big kids’ table and they’re telling him he can do whatever he wants. He’s thrilled. But he’ll have to juggle that with this sort of public persona and this responsibility that he has as the head of the AVL. Whether or not he can juggle those two worlds will come to a head.

Vampires continue their Lilith trip in True Blood sneak peek

Posted by Shadaliza On July - 27 - 2012

The vampires continue to remain under the influences of “Lilith’s blood” in the upcoming episode (5.08) of True Blood.

Sookie in the meantime talks with Claude about finding the killer of her parents.

In last week’s episode we learned the identity of the hate group members with the Obama masks who go around shooting shifters. But who is their leader who goes by the mysterious, yet threatening name Dragon? Dragon is clearly the one pulling the strings, sending Joe Bob to the hospital where Luna is, most likely to finish the job and the hate group members fear and respect him or her.

But who could this Dragon be? Everything happens for a reason on True Blood. It was surprising to see retired sheriff Bud Dearborn again, when Andy visits his house looking for advice about how to handle the killings. Bud is grumpy and absolutely not interested in helping out; he has a male performance enhancement product to try out, a hot tub at exactly the right temperature and a woman who is not his wife to enjoy it all with. We know that Bud is not keen on vampires, so probably he doesn’t care for other sups much as well. But did the former sheriff go from lawman to ruthless killer?

There is another character, that we only saw for a very brief moment, that could be the Dragon. The woman who told Bud that the hot tub was ready and he called her “sweetie”. A term of endearment I first thought, but a little digging brought up some interesting info. And here a SPOILER ALERT would be appropriate.

Although True Blood and the Sookie Stackhouse books have taken two very different roads, they both have the character Sweetie in common. According to IMDB her full name is Sweetie Des Arts, portrayed by actress Jennifer Hasty. Sweetie first made an appearance in the True Blood pilot as “woman with fries” and so she makes her return in episode 5.07 and again in 5.09 (according to IMDB).

A casting call was sent out for the character for episode 5.07 so it was not premeditated that Hasty would play her again.

[SWEETIE] Female, Caucasian. About 30, she is a large woman who’s having a noontime romance with an older married man. RECURRING.

The book fans might remember the name Sweetie Des Arts as she is an important character in Deas As A Doornail. Sweetie was a former stripper and cook at Merlotte’s.  This is in short what happens in the book:

Sookie is shot while leaving the library, presumably because she associates with shifters. Ballistics says that her bullet matches the bullets of all the others who were shot, except Sam’s. Later, Sookie is in an alley with Sam (in his dog form) trying to find the killer, when Sweetie Des Arts, Merlotte’s cook, comes at her with a gun. Sweetie explains that she was bitten by a werewolf, and has become part shifter. As an act of revenge, she now kills any shifter she comes in contact with. Tray Dawson, a werewolf who was sent to protect Sookie by Calvin Norris, is shot in this confrontation, and Sweetie is shot and killed by Andy Bellefleur, when he arrives on the scene.

Since True Blood has deviated so far from the original source material there is no way of predicting what role Sweetie will play on the show or how her story will unfold. All I can say is that we haven’t seen the last of Sweetie and I seriously doubt she is a sweetie at all.

Shockers Promised for Season 5.04 – We’ll Meet Again

Posted by Lynnpd On June - 30 - 2012

It appears that, Sunday’sepisode of True Blood is a shocking one.  Here’s what Zap2it had to say about the episode:

“We’ll Meet Again” marks a huge turning point for nearly everyone in Bon Temps. Murder, breakups, makeups, makeouts, more murder…and a startling revelation that will change everything for the Stackhouses.

Below are their five teases of what’s to come.

1. Animal Magnetism: What happens when you mix a mutually attracted werewolf and fairy with lots and lots of alcohol and nothing to lose? You do that math.

2. Angel of Death: Everyone (except for some four-legged friends) is hating on Sookie (Anna Paquin). Is it really her fault that death follows her like a duck on a junebug? Maybe some folks have a right to be irritated, but trying to kill her seems a wee bit extreme, no?

3. An Offer She Can’t Refuse: Death might seem preferable after Sookie’s betrayal makes an immortal enemy of one of her former lovers who needs her special gifts — and will do whatever it takes to force her to use them.

4. Hunting Party: Forget Sookie for a minute: Sam (Sam Trammell) is the one who will be surrounded by corpses — victims of violent murder — by the end of the episode. Seems things are going to get a whole lot worse before they get better for the shape-shifting barkeep.

5. Family Secrets: Jason’s (Ryan Kwanten) random run-in with his chatty cousin Hadley (Lindsey Haun) rocks his world, and — once she finds out the truth — Sookie’s too. The Stackhouses will be forced to reconsider everything they thought they knew about their family’s past.

Leave us a comment below about your thoughts regarding the episode.

A couple of spoilers have come out this week, not to big, but interesting.

According to EOnline: Two people who have never kissed before on the HBO hit series will be sharing their first smooch come this Sunday!

So not feeling this out-of-nowhere Eric-Bill bromance, any Eric-Sookie action coming up on True Blood?
OK, how do we put this nicely? Ummm…No. There’s not going to be any Eric and Sookie lovin’ in this week’s episode, because little miss mind-reader is getting hot and heavy with someone else! Yup, you read that right, but this hookup may or may not be alcohol induced. Of course, we can’t tell you who it is, so please stop sending chocolates to the E! Online offices, we’re on a sugar overload right now. And speaking of sweet things, get ready for the most adorable scene between Bill and his teen vamp, Jessica. In fact all of the makers have some truly touching scenes with their protégés this week. Awww.

And TV Guide had this small one about the new contraption, the IStake, that Bill and Eric are wearing.

Can I just say that the iStake is the best invention ever on True Blood— Steve
NATALIE:
Bill and Eric would probably disagree with you since those quick-killing apps won’t be removed for a while. “It stays on for several episodes and you should be worried,” Alan Ball says. “They’re in danger, in serious danger.” Like the iStake now?
