What Happened When Terry Was in Iraq?

Posted by Lynnpd On January - 25 - 2012

We’ve previously reported that Scott Foley is going to play Terry’s army buddy and he was introduced in True Blood season 4.  That episode was just to introduce him and he’ll be sticking around for the fifth season.
According to TV Guide, with Scott Foley in season 5, the show will reveal “what happened in Iraq that caused the Merlotte’s chef to come back with such a severe case of PTSD.”

Read more after the cut.

Spoiler Alert!

At the end of Season 4, we saw the appearance of, Patrick Devins, Terry’s buddy from the army who showed up in Merlotte’s for a visit.  The casting call from last season described hsi character as:

[Patrick Devins] 35 to 45, tough, and ruggedly attractive, he served in the military with Terry, and they share a serious history: Terry saved Patrick’s life twice. 7 out of 13 episodes next season.

The character is played by Scott Foley and is expected to bring nothing but trouble for Terry and Arlene in Season 5. We think he will provide the means by which we learn about Terry’s army history.  As war veteran Patrick Devans, Foley promises to throw more than a few curve balls at the “True Blood” cast… especially the happily married Terry Bellefleur and Arlene Fowler, both of whom are about to get caught up in Devans’ dangerous baggage.

The jury is out on Scott Foley’s character,” Carrie Preston, who plays Arlene, told MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival. “They set it up to be something that’s a little dangerous by the end of season four, and I’m telling you right now, it’s not going to get any better.

But even if Scott presents a threat to Arlene’s happy marriage, Carrie insists that the Merlotte’s waitress isn’t going to stand aside and let her family fall apart.

Arlene wants to hold onto her man and her family and that’s always going to be her MO,” she said. “Anything that comes into her situation and is threatening, she’s not going to take that lying down.”

We have another casting that has been completed for Season 5 in the part of Dieter Braun.

Christopher Heyerdahl, who plays an ancient vampire in the Twilight Saga movies, will now play one in another screen adaptation of a popular book series — this time on TV. Heyerdahl is joining HBO’s hit vampire drama True Blood in a recurring role. He will portray Dieter Braun, an ancient, powerful vampire who plays a large part in the intelligence of the Authority and especially enjoys enhanced interrogation. That is familiar territory for Sanctuary alum Heyerdahl, who played the ancient Volturi vampire Marcus in three of the Twilight movies: New Moon, Breaking Dawn Part 1 and the upcoming Part 2 (photo on left). Additionally, he played a demon in an arc on the CW’s Supernatural. Heyerdahl, currently co-stars on the AMC drama series Hell On Wheels playing Norwegian badass The Swede. Is there still hope for Sookie and Eric on True Blood?

Posted by Shadaliza On January - 18 - 2012

Finally a spoiler about the love triangle between Sookie, Eric and Bill and straight from the mouth of one of the parties involved.

Alexander Skarsgard revealed to TVGuide:

“The feelings are still there for both Eric and Bill. The attraction is still there, but they’re preoccupied, and so is she.” Instead, look for Bill and Eric to team up while the vampire world begins to both expand and collapse in the coming season. “The guys have usually tried to kill each other and now suddenly have to learn to become friends and protect each other and work together.”

That sounds like Sookie will have her own troubles to deal with, while the boys step into the ring with the Authority.

Abbie Cobb books role on True Blood

Posted by Shadaliza On January - 11 - 2012

Twice is a charm for Abbie Cobb who just booked a role on True Blood. She auditioned last year for a part on season 4 and didn’t get, but this time around she had better luck. On her Facebook page she announced: “OMG y’all…I booked Trueblood. Shoots next week! WIND IT UP!”

So what part will she play? The casting call for episode 3 has 3 possible roles for Abbie.

[LINDSEY] In her 20s, attractive in a small town kind of way, she’s fixing a flat tire in a narrow country road when a vampire comes upon her. 1 speech & 3 lines, 1 scene. Co-star.

[MOLLY] In her 20s, bubbly, with a retro Bettie Page/Suicide Girl vibe, “cute as a button if buttons had fangs,” she works for the Vampire Authority and outfits two prisoners with complicated deadly devices. Visible tattoos a plus. One-day guest star. Possible recurring.

[DOROTHY] Seen in flashback to 1905, this pretty young prostitute has been glamored and is being drained by two vampires when another vampire saves her. 1 line, 1 scene. This role requires nudity.

Since Abbie looks like such a sweet girl my guess is that she would play Lindsey.
