“Nathan Barr has created a score which is worthy of the praise True Blood the TV show has gotten from fans and critics. It is very fitting, dark and moody, just not very scary. Lisbeth Scott is also featured in the opening song ‘Take Me Home’ and ‘Sancto Erico’, but this is definitely a Nathan Barr production it’s a great score”, says Jim Tillnes of Soundtrack Geek

Great music, creative, erotic and relaxing, love the song, Take me home, and the one played while Eric took a bath in Bill’s bathtub

I adore Nathan’s music, it gives me the opportunity to escape from my problems and fall into another world…Nathan is a true inspiration to me in my life and I believe his music has a way of reaching out to people and touching their very souls.

Unfortunately I don’t know much about Nathan Barr’s music but from what I’ve heard on his MySpace page his music has a sensual ambient feeling that I like very much. Would love to hear more of it and this CD would be a way to start.

I like Nathan Barr’s music because if I own the soundtrack, I can pretend I’m watching True Blood wherever I go. I mean, who hears those notes and doesn’t picture cast cuteness? That’s reason enough for me!

I’m a big fan of Nathan Barr’s work. Especially for True Blood. His ‘True Blood’ cues are soothing/relaxing to the mind. It goes perfectly well with certain moments in the series but is versatile enough to go along with another (different) scene. Bill and Sookie’s theme is very beautiful. The score is not too over the top — it’s just right. In a weird way, it has a “southern” feel to it that I don’t think any other composer would match.

I LOVE Mr. Barr’s & Ms. Scott’s music for providing a definite emotional response! When Sookie was going through her Gran’s things in S2, and the music being played transported me… to think of the importance of family with the passage of time. I have to admit…I did shed a tear or two, and I felt the music played a big role to evoke that emotion along with Ms. Paquin’s performance. I compared that feeling, to when I hear Amazing Grace.

I love how it gets your heart racing, aching and makes it skip a beat all in between a few notes.
It’s timeless music; yet modern and full of emotions. Perfect background for a rollercoaster series!

As a teenager and in my early 20’s, I played the violin in orchestra. Since then I have loved string music. I enjoy his use of strings, particularly the cello in so much of the score. The theme used for Bill and also “Take Me Home” uses the cello which creates a haunting melody. I like the eclectic use of songs and music in the True Blood score.
Nathan’s use of music really helps make the show. I also love Bill’s and Sookie’s theme.

Hi, to me not only do the actors make the show of True Blood, but the music is a big part of it as well. Nathan’s music helps you feel the emotions and trials that the characters are going through. Thanks so much!

I love Nathan’s music. It enhances the program so much yet it is music that you do not need a visual to appreciate the depth of emotions it invokes.

Nathan Barr’s score for “True Blood” is like another character in the show because it plays such an important part in telling the story, evoking emotion, and setting the scene. Whether it’s the haunting cello of Bill and Sookie’s theme (my favorite), the sad and sweet Southern hymn-like “Take Me Home” or the trippy sound of the “V” experience, Nathan’s music draws you in to make you feel a part of the story.

I agree with all comments above! I just wish he will do a much longer version of our music as I think it is not long enough! Glass of wine and candlelight – how romantic!

Nathans music is exactly what is needed.

I love the song “Amy’s goodbye”.
I love this character very much, and I’m so sad to see her death in the end.

There’s something so magical in these melodies… They somehow remind me of moonlight glow, soft and translucent, but always present and persistent. I think these are really refreshing, with all the rock and contry in the series. And I love those because they really make me feel like I’m actually there, working at the bar or sunbathing with my radio on… But Nathan Barr’s mucis is simply intoxicating! It gives the final touch to those hot-blooded guys and gals, just makes them feel more human and unbeliavably real! Thank you , Nathan Barr, for your music!

Nathan Barr’s music is what draws our souls into the story so that we may feel the love, excitement, anguish and torment as if we are there. His subtle music cues orchestrate our emotions beautifully with his choice of instruments and lovely vocals. I especially loved the haunting music which accompanied Anna’s wonderful acting as Sookie ate Grans’ pecan pie after Grans murder.

Nathan’s music tells a story without the actors. it touches the deep recesses of my soul and brings TrueBlood back to life just as if I had drank Bill’s blood.

This music weaves and swirls through different levels. Nathan’s music really moves you to feel what is happening. I can actually feel my mind drifting, moving and becoming all that it is.

Nathan Barr’s True Blood score makes my romantic heart soar and is such a powerful asset to the series, I cannot imagine the show without his talent. Without Nathan Barr there would have been no ‘Bill’s Entrance’, my personal favorite. Watching that scene when Sookie walks to Bill and the haunting romantic music playing as she sits down and puts her hand in his is pure joy!

The music for True Blood sucks me in and leaves me drained. I could listen to it all night. The show wouldn’t be the same without the talent of Nathan Barr. I live to be mesmerized by it every evening.

The music is haunting and demands you to stop and listen; loosing yourself in True Blood all over again.

Nathan Barr’s score is as timeless and moving as the vampies themselves, and he has a way of making powerful scenes move even more.

One of the reasons I watch Trueblood is for the music. It is edgy and gentle. Love the pie song and the wonderful score for Bill and Sookie. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched the video of Nathan Barr and Lisbeth Scott playing and singing Take me home. So much feeling it brought tears to my eyes. Wonderful music.

i think the music and lyrics go so well with the story line. its quite edgy so coupled with the intro images can be quite disturbing.. music and lyrics on their own are fine – but not against the intro images… kind reminds me of the Dexter intro’s..
