Lucy Griffiths Lands Major Role in “Winters Tale”

True Blood’s Lucy Griffiths has signed on to play a major role in the new film “Winter’s Tale.” The film, based on the Mark Helprin novel, is about a dying young woman who falls in love with a thief who breaks into her palatial home on the West Side of Manhattan in 19th century and contemporary Manhattan. Colin Farrell plays the thief and Matt Bomer will play his father while Griffiths plays his mother.

In his directorial debut, Akiva Goldsman continues to add to an already strong cast for Winter’s Tale. Magic Mike and White Collar star Matt Bomer, True Blood‘s Lucy Griffiths and Eva Marie Saint round out a film that stars Colin Farrell, Downton Abbey‘s Jessica Brown Findlay, William Hurt, Will Smith and Russell Crowe.

Warner Bros begins production in Manhattan on October 27.

Thanks, Lynn. I should have read the post more carefully.

Ladies, it says in the post that the story takes place in 19th century and contemporary Manhattan. I'm guessing that Lucy is in the 19th century storyline.

I was wondering the same thing, Shad. And also about Matt Bomer, who is in his 30's.

How could she play Colin Farrell's mother? She is younger than he is. Must be in flashbacks.

This sounds like a stellar film with an outstanding cast. I'm already looking forward to seeing it.
