Lucy Griffiths leaves new show – “Constantine”

True-Blood-01-Lucy-Griffiths-410x600True Blood, Lucy Griffiths, played Eric’s vampire sister, Nora in seasons 5 and 6 before she died the true death last season.  Right after her death on True Blood we reported that she had been signed for a new show called, Constantine. In that show she was cast as the lead female character, but it’s now been announced that her part has been cut.

Lucy was introduced as one of the key cast members of the pilot, with Liv a daughter of one of John Constantine’s dead friends.

Constantine is still being filmed and will premiere this fall on NBC, and a report says that Lucy was let go after producers decided her role of Liv simply didn’t fit with the show.

In place of Liv, the drama will add Zed, a psychic who teams up with Constantine to battle various evil forces. No word yet on who will take on this new role.

We wish Lucy the best and know she will find another project more suited to her talents.

Well, that’s unfortunate. I hope Lucy will find more projects that can make better use of her tremendous talents. She was the only reason I was even considering watching Constantine. Now I won’t be too concerned about that show.

Having watched a sneak peek of Constantine, I’m guessing  Lucy said no thanks and skipped away.. The entire show needs to be rebooted imo.

Not surprised – Constantine has tons of girlfriends in the comics, and Zed is really interesting one.

I know nothing about the show so can’t really comment on it.  I hope Lucy finds a project that suits her better.
