Below are some teases and/or spoilers about what might be coming up on True Blood.
We learn about Rev Newlin as an Authority figure and Pam’s history that includes Lorena and Bill and even more secrets spilled about Jessica.
The New Nan Flanagan: Reverend Newlin (Michael McMillian) isn’t just showing up in Bon Temps to make himself an unwanted party crasher, he’ll have a whole new role at the Authority. He’s the best person to take over the old face of the Vampire Authority now that he’s a vampire and a smooth-talking religious nut spokesperson.
No Biting the Merchandise: As you will soon learn Lorena (Mariana Klaveno), Bill, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) and Pam have a very long, sordid and interesting history. Bill and Lorena were out sowing their wild oats when he and Eric clashed before. This fun flashback also explains why Pam isn’t the biggest Bill Compton fan.
Sex Ed Teacher: If you watch Mad Men you might recognize Jason’s (Ryan Kwanten) former teacher as the first Mrs. Draper (Melinda Page Hamilton). We find out that this is the woman who sent Jason down a sordid sexual path. The gist of this big reveal is that Jason has so much baggage he’d need a whole cargo truck to go on vacation. Did we know that already?
Deborah Ann Woll was interview by Vulture and she shares some interesting spoilers about her character of Jessica.
Jessica seems to be enjoying being an older and more powerful vampire than Newlin.
She’s also going cross paths with new baby vamp Tara. Jessica’s single now, so she’ll be hanging out at Fangtasia more, which is where Tara’s maker Pam works. When Jess finds out that there are vamps younger than her, it’s very exciting.
Will she be playing big sister?
Jessica’s finally dabbling in the benefits of being a vampire herself, so I think she’s going to make Tara feel a little better about it.
Speaking of Fangtasia, the teaser trailer featured Hoyt trolling around the bar with a lot guyliner on.
A lot of guyliner. He’s all sort of fangbanger’d out. He’s got a very interesting storyline this year in which Jessica weaves in and out.
Are Hoyt and Jessica headed for a reconciliation?
They ultimately can’t satisfy one another. Jessica’s dark and wild and Hoyt is much more conservative and innocent in a way. If Jess were to stay with Hoyt, she would corrupt that innocence he has. You’ll see a little bit of what I mean by that soon. Obviously their relationship isn’t completely concluded, there’s more fallout, but I can say that we’ll start to see that Hoyt and Jessica are really not made for one another.
The show’s explored the bond between makers and their progeny when it comes to Godric and Eric and now Eric and Pam. Are we going to see more of what that relationship means for Jessica and Bill?
Yes. Bill has always been very busy and he hasn’t had a lot of time for Jess. Left to her own devices, she gets into a lot of trouble this season. Definitely, they’ll come together, and when they do it will be a test in a way to see where their loyalties lie.
How so?
It’s a very polarized world on True Blood this season. There are boyfriends, girlfriends, the Authority, Pam, other vampires, humans … What sides are they going to pick? We’ve seen that usually progeny will go along with their makers, but we also know sometimes your kid doesn’t always do what you want. We’ll see how Bill and Jessica navigate those waters. Will they be loyal to the same faction or will they go opposite ways?

When I saw Steve Newlin on TV, I thought immediately that he could take over the position of spokesperson for the movement.

He will be good in it, but I thought Bill Compton would become the new spokesperson, especially with him being a Civil War hero and all. Steve Newlin will be good though, of course. It’s especially good to have him back in the mix. He brings something unique and with him chasing after Jason, it’s funny to see Jason’s responses.

So…maybe the Rev was turned by a council member and I think he is totally the new Nan.
Looksed like some fang marks on the dead whore at Pam’s place. And she made some comment I can’t remember about “them again”. Totally Bill and Lorena since they were running wild all over the States during this time. Can’t wait to see Lorena back if that’s the case!
