Alexander Skarsgård and his fellow cast members, were on hand for the New York Premiere of “Disconnect” today (April 8). Alex wore a blue gray suit with a dark shirt and looked great on the red carpet.  The event was held at the SVA Visual Arts Theater on West 23rd Street in New York city.

The film is about ordinary people struggling to connect in today’s wired world and will be seen in theaters starting April 12, 2013.  Also,  Alex will be appearing on Live with Kelly and Micheal tomorrow morning (Tues., Apr.9)! (check local listings)

True Blood’s Sookie, Anna Paquin is the second True Blood star to also participate in the YouTube channel’s WIGS. Last year, Stephen Moyer was in their premiere series, “Jan.”  Now Anna will be seen in their new 12-episode web series, scripted drama written and directed by WIGS co-founder Jon Avnet that is slated to premiere later this spring.  Anna will play a new mother in the series, where she will be able to use her recent true life experiences.

Anna will co-star with Maggie Grace in Susanna as two sisters, Katie (Paquin), the mother of a newborn, and her younger sister, Susanna (Grace), an investment banker on the rise who has no interest in becoming a mother. When Katie develops acute postpartum depression and is hospitalized, Susanna must take care of her sister and her sister’s child while trying to keep the biggest business opportunity of her life from being derailed by her sister’s illness. Virginia Madsen and Rob Benedict co-star.

The female-targeted WIGS in February formed a programming, marketing and distribution partnership with Fox, which aims at expanding WIGS’ offerings as well as testing and nurturing dramatic concepts and talent in the digital realm. The idea is to build content that can be programmed on the network and/or other channels. WIGS has more than 130,000 subs and its content has been viewed more than 30 million times. Its offerings include the Julia Stiles-starrer Blue, which premiered its season 2 on March 15; Serena, starring Jennifer Garner and Alfred Molina; and Jan, about a young woman who’s first job goes away starring Madsen, Paquin’s True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer and Caitlin Gerard.

As he told his interviewer, True Blood’s Alexander Skarsgård doesn’t care about being a sex symbol. He recently sat down with E! News to discuss his upcoming film Disconnect, as well as his loyal True Blood fans and their obsession with his sexiness. And no surprise, his humble attitude only makes him that much hotter.

“Honestly, I don’t think too much about it,” the 36-year-old actor said when asked about the intense TB fandom. “I think if vanity becomes a part of who you are as an actor…it’s important that you let yourself be true to the character.”

He continued, explaining how he focuses on the role itself, not the public’s perception.

“If you’re vain and you’re like, ‘Oh my fans won’t like it if I’m a little chubby or if I’m pale or if I look older than I really am, I’m not doing my job then.’”

The money raised is going to the Choroideremia Research Foundation. Choroideremia is a genetic and degenerative eye disease that attacks the peripheral vision and erodes it over time and will cause eventual blindness. EJ is legally blind now and has about 10-15 degrees centrally of vision left. His grandfather went blind in his 40′s. He is 37 right now and is looking for a cure or treatment. Not only for himself but for his brother (26) and 2 nephews (8 and 4) who also have the disease. His sister, mother and aunt are all carriers. This pattern will continue for future generations unless something is done to stop it.

We’re so happy to report that one of our favorite characters, Sarah Newlin, played beautifully by Anna Camp, will be returning to True Blood.  

According to TVLine, Anna, who’s currently juggling roles on Fox’s Mindy Project and CBS’ Vegas, floated the possibility of a Sarah comeback earlier this year, telling them that her character has “a lot of unfinished business.”

No doubt at the top of her to-do list is confronting ex-husband and former Fellowship of the Sun co-head Steve (Michael McMillian), who is now an out-and-proud gay man and a vampire. Don’t be surprised if she also finds time to reconnect with ex-flame Jason, which would put her at odds with his current love, Jessica.

True Blood’s Season 6 adds more new cast members to the ever increasing list for it’s episode 5. Cathryn De Prume will be Ben’s mother and Danielle Yu is to play Somchai.
 

Cathryn De Prume	[Ben's Mother] the mother of Ben who was described as a highly charismatic faerie who takes a liking to Sookie (and vice-versa) and helps Sookie and Jason delve deeper into the mystery of their parents’ murders.
Danielle Yu	[Somchai] A co-starring beautiful Thai woman who is used to get vampires to participate in therapy. (I may be wrong, but from the role descriptions it sounds like vampires might be put in prison and given therapy.)
