musicspecRecently we learned of the titles for the two episodes for True Blood Season 6, episodes 8 and 10. Episode 8 will be titled, “A Change Is Gonna Come” and Episode 10 will be called, “We Will All Go Together When We Go.”

We have created pages devoted to these two episodes in our True Blood Season 6 Episode guide and will add to each episode page as more information becomes available.

As we always do, below is our music speculation for these episodes. Below are our best guess as to the song for the title of these two episodes.

Episode 8 – A Change is Gonna Come

The only song that could conceivably be the title for this episode is the very famous ”A Change is Gonna Come.” We’ve chosen the Otis Redding version, but there are many others out there and there could be a more recent version chosen for True Blood.

Episode 10 – We Will All Go Together When We Go

Below are some possibilities for this episode. The song must be this famous Tom Lehrer song. However, we can’t help but notice that this title and song doesn’t inspire much anticipation for a favorable future for True Blood. Let’s hope that’s not the case. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for Season 7.

musicspecYesterday, we reported that we had verified the final titles for the first three episodes of True Blood Season 6.

Below is updated music speculation for these three episodes reflecting our choices for the song that is probably the one representing each episode’s title.

Episode 6.01 – “Who Are You, Really?” (formerly, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood) – The song for episode 1 has to be Mikky Ekko’s.

Mikky Ekko – Who Are You, Really?

Episode 6.02 – “The Sun” (formerly, Here Comes the Sun)
– there are several options for Episode 2, but we tend to think it will be the song by The Naked and Famous, with Maroon 5 in second place and Naked Lunch in at third place.

The Naked And Famous – The Sun – taken from the debut album “Passive Me, Agressive You

Sorry Boys – The Sun (official single) which will be released in 2013.

Soap&Skin – the Sun

Maroon 5′s song ‘The Sun’ from their debut album Songs About Jane.

Naked Lunch “The Sun”

Episode 6.03 – “You’re No Good” – Episode 3 also has several options. True Blood has used “standards” from time to time as their song for the episode, and therefore we have two versions of the most popular song with this title in the first two spots, Linda Rondstadt’s version and the original by Better Everett. However, we tend to think that True Blood’s song for this episode will be the third song by Major Lazer; much more trendy for today’s music tastes. It will be interesting to see which one they choose.

Linda Ronstadt – You’re No Good

Betty Everett – You’re No Good

Major Lazer – You’re No Good

Recently we posted changes to the first three episode titles for True Blood Season 6. When we posted them, we provided a caveat saying that the first three titles were questionable. We questioned especially, the title of episode 1 since the song that was the previous title of the episode, “Don’t Let me Be Misunderstood” is on the, soon to be released, Volume 4 CD of True Blood music. However, we can now verify that the new title of Episode 1 is “Who Are you Really?” and the new titles for episodes 2 and 3 are changed as well, to those reported last week, as follows:

Episode 6.01 – “Who Are You, Really?” (formerly, Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood)
Episode 6.02 – The Sun (formerly, Here Comes the Sun)
Episode 6.03 – You’re No Good (formerly Abducted)

Below is a screen shot from the HBO web site verifying the titles of the first three episodes.

Rutina Wesley Cancels Phoenix Comic Con

Posted by Lynnpd On May - 11 - 20131 COMMENT

Previously, we reported that Rutina Wesley would join Kristin Bauer van Straten at the Phoenix Comic Con.  Unfortunately, we now see at the site for the convention that Rutina will no longer be attending the event which is scheduled for the weekend of May 23 to 26, 2013.  Too bad, it would have been great to see these two True Blood vampires together discussing their on screen relationship.

Kristin Bauer van Straten is still scheduled to be there and will be holding a Q&A for the fans.

Here’s the information provided at the convention site:

It’s time for some True Blood Season 6 Speculation!

It has long been confusing to many exactly which character Rutger Hauer is going to play in Season 6 of True Blood. He was first reported to play “Macklyn” - a mysterious and sinister figure with deep ties to Sookie and Jason. (SUSPECTED TO BE WARLOW) and then and ever since he has been reported as playing, “Niall.”

But when HBO sent us the HQ photos of season 6 characters yesterday, we noticed that on the “Credit Sheet” they sent along with the photos that he was officially listed as “Niall Brigant.”  Therefore, in our minds that puts the debate to rest, or does it?

Knowing the True Blood writers as we do, we are aware they never limit themselves and are experts at creating plot twists that surprise us. So, we wonder if perhaps there might just be such a plot twist this season and Mr. Hauer might play both characters?

Certainly this would represent a pretty drastic twist, and we have no evidence to verify it except for the original casting that reported him as playing Warlow and then the one later that listed him as Niall. So, let’s just say this is pure speculation on our part and we’ll have to wait to find out the real truth until June 16.

What do you think? Could Rutger Hauer be both Niall and Warlow? Let us know what your opinion in the comments.

Joe Manganiello as “Guilty Pleasure”

Posted by Lynnpd On May - 10 - 20134 COMMENTS

Yesterday we posted a photo of Stephen Moyer and Anna Paquin from the “First Look” section of the 5/17/13 issue of Entertainment Weekly magazine. Now, True Blood’s Joe Manganiello is another cast member to be seen on page 38 of the  issue in the article titled “Guilty Pleasures.”

The caption under his photo says:

“Sure you watch for the supernatural drama. But when you check the episode rations, that’s not what the S stands for, now is it?”

Yup, we know what you mean when you say “S.”

Join the cast of True Blood on Friday, May 24th at 9:45PM to look back on Season 5 of True Blood in the “Authority on Season 5 Preview”.  It will be nice to see the cast sit down and discuss last season right after the Blu-ray/DVD is released.  Be sure to mark your schedules.
