deborahannwoll_1Media Planet recently put together a special pull-out section for USA Today titled “Vision & Hearing News”. Part of this special pull-out featured an interview with True Blood’s Jessica, Deborah Ann Woll. Deborah talked about her relationship with EJ Scott and their efforts to bring awareness and funding to the Choroideremia Research Foundation.

Here’s a portion of Deborah Ann’s interview:

Mediaplanet: What is the most difficult part about Choroideremia (CHM) for you and EJ?
Deborah Ann Woll: I often feel very helpless. While we can fundraise, try to talk about the disease and help people cope with it, we can’t actually control the trials or their outcome. It’s up to science and nature to decide whether EJ and the other sufferers of this disease will retain their sight. That’s hard for me as an observer to deal with and I imagine even more difficult for those with the condition. I know EJ struggles, especially watching his family go through it. We want to give them their sight back so badly, but there is nothing we can do but hope our fundraising gives the doctors what they need.

MP: How do you cope with this struggle on a daily basis?
DAW: I wouldn’t say we struggle with it daily, but it is present on a daily basis. Logistically, living in sunny LA is difficult for EJ, who is very light sensitive, and we have to be extra vigilant about organization so that he doesn’t lose things or trip over anything. But mostly I think you love each other, have patience and try to understand things from the other persons perspective. It’s not too different from any other challenge in a relationship.

Please help us raise awareness of the cause by sharing this information and thank you for your support! You can also donate directly and safely to the Choroideremia Research Foundation by credit card or Paypal using the PayPal button here below. Donations are tax deductible for US residents.

Joe Manganiello on the set of “Tumbledown”

Posted by Lynnpd On April - 3 - 2014ADD COMMENTS

True Blood’s Joe Manganiello is seen on the set while filming in Concord, Massachusetts for his new film “Tumbledown,” that we previously reported about here.

Hmmm, we’re guessing that Alcide doesn’t have any True Blood screen time currently so Joe could be away for this shoot. However, we are wondering how he is able to fit in a film during the shooting of True Blood Season 7? Any thoughts?

True Blood’s faery grandfather, Rutger Hauer attended ‘Monsterpalooza: The Art of Monsters’ Convention at the Burbank Airport Marriott Hotel & Convention Center last weekend.

Rutger attended the event for the purpose of signing his new autobiography, “All Those Moments.” The book is a revealing portrait of the artist giving a candid look at his life and his approach to acting. The son of actors, he describes his early life growing up in Holland, his start as an actor in a small rural theater company and his start as a film actor.

He also describes his major films: Blade Runner, Ladyhawke, Blind Fury, Soldier of Orange, the Hitcher and Nighthawks, and his breakthrough role in the Dutch television series Floris, in detail giving insight into how he approaches his character. He spends some time describing his craft and the difficulties of being away from home for long periods of time.

True Blood will fly with British Airways

Posted by Lynnpd On April - 3 - 2014ADD COMMENTS

newssquare2STONEPlanning a trip to Bon Temps for your future? British Airways has teamed up with HBO for long-haul flights, with programmes such as Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Girls, True Detective, Looking and Curb Your Enthusiasm to be shown.

Richard D’Cruze, British Airways’ in-flight entertainment manager, said: “We’re excited to be the first airline in the UK to have a dedicated HBO channel, offering more entertainment options than ever before.

“We know that our customers value the opportunity to catch up on the latest TV and films during their trips. We’ve recently seen a trend for ‘binge-watching’ on flights, with customers viewing back-to-back episodes of a TV series to keep up to date or simply catch up. With so many popular programmes on HBO, we know this will be a real winner with our frequent fliers.”

A number of movies will also be shown on the channel.

Jennifer Bowen, senior vice president of international distribution, HBO, said: “British Airways is committed to offering their customers a pre-eminent entertainment experience. The HBO brand, and the high quality programming it immediately brings to mind, offers a valuable addition to their service. This deal also provides a great opportunity for those who have not yet seen the acclaimed programs, to experience a taste of what they’ve been missing.”

The news comes as British Airways celebrates its 40th anniversary under the British Airways branding, having taken the name in April 1974 following the merger of BOAC and BEA.

Posted by Lynnpd On April - 1 - 20141 COMMENT

castings-s7squareLast week reported that there would be a new villian in True Blood Season 7, “The Figure.” Well, now we know who will play the part, Paul Rae.

We also have some other new cast members listed below who will be appearing in later episodes. Among them is the “Minus” character that we have speculated will appear in a Bill Civil War flashback. We first learned about Minus from someone who auditioned for the role and tweeted about it.

Paul RaePaul Rae [THE FIGURE]: He will be seen in Episode 1. He’s described as “scary, hulking, ugly, mean and crafty… like Leatherface or Jason Voorhees, but this guy talks.” Curiously, this Figure dude will appear in the season premiere — an episode that (presumably) finished shooting more than two months ago.
matthewholmesMatthew Holmes [CHARLES DUPONT] will first be seen in Episode 5.
brianpatrickmulliganBrian Patrick Mulligan [LOUIS BODEHOUSE] we think he might be related to Jane Bodehouse.
Gilbert OwuorGilbert Owour [MINUS] This is the part of the slave that we have speculated will be in a flashback of Bill’s past prior or during the Civil War. He will be seen in episode 5.

Spoiler: True Blood Season 7 new baddie “Gus”

Posted by Lynnpd On March - 31 - 20143 COMMENTS

spoiler-s7squareNew True Blood Season 7 spoiler tidbit about a new bad guy in this coming season.

Read more below:

When the blood-thirsty HBO series returns this summer, brace yourselves for a whole new mess of baddies and troublemakers. One of our favorites is Mr. Gus–he’s a Japan native who has fully embraced the “everything’s bigger in Texas” way of living. The only thing bigger than his lavish, southern lifestyle? His quest for revenge, and trust us when we tell you, you do not want to cross him.

There have only been two casting calls released so far this season that we’ve found, so as far as we know, Gus hasn’t been cast yet. We’ll let you know when we find anything out.
