Rutina Wesley talks about Tara Being Ready for Love

Rutina Wesley talks frankly about Tara’s new change this year and about the total experience of how she has changed throughout the seasons. When she discovered the writers’ plan to have her Tara kick off Season 4 of True Blood as a lesbian cage-fighter, the first question she asked was “Is she gonna be happy?”

Wesley sat down with TVLine at their Comic-Con interview suite to discuss how she found out about Tara’s shift in sexuality, what she found difficult about Season 3′s toilet scene, and whether her character is “just going through a phase.”

Sad to say, I’m having problems with the vid. I get 24 seconds in, and the little circle starts going round and round in the middle of the picture, and that’s it. I’ll try back later and hope for better luck.

Great interview and could there be a Sam-Tara hook-up down the road? Actually, I liked the angry, smart-mouthed Tara from Season 1, but I’m good with the matured Tara. Rutina is an excellent actor and I hope Tara stays in for seasons to come…Sook needs her sister.

Good interview. Finally got to see it all. The lesbian cage fighting story line was a surprise for me. But Tara is happy with Naomi, so I’m all for it. After being victimized last season by Franklin, worked over by MaryAnn the maenad and losing Eggs, she deserves some happiness. I also perked up when she mentioned Sam in the interview. I’d love to see them get together down the road. Tara has been roped into the witchy world with Jesus and Lafayette. I wonder how all that is going to turn out for her.
