We are still enjoying the afterglow of True Blood’s season 2, but Alan Ball and his creative team are already working on the next season and the very first season 3 casting news was announced today.
Denis O’Hare has been cast as the king of Mississippi. He’s appeared in roughly a million movies (Milk, Duplicity, Quarantine) and pretty much that many TV series, too (most notably a 10-episode run on Brothers & Sisters).
O’Hare joins True Blood as a series regular. He’ll debut early into the show’s third season, slated to air next summer.

that is great. He kind of looks like I would think Russell would look. Can’t wait to see Sookie stake Lorena!!

I am REALLY excited to see who is going to be cast for season 3, maybe a little overly excited, lol. On twitter, people are talking who should play Alcide and Debbie. I think Jeffery Dean Morgan would be a good Alcide. Some people think Dominic Purcell but I think he would be a better Quinn. I have no idea who should play Debbie but some people said Shannyn Sossamon. I could see that. Who do you guys think would be a good match?

I can see him as Russell as far as appearance is concerned. Hopeful he will be believable as a vamp.

I haven’t read the books but as far as looks go, I love this guy as vampire king. Kinda reminds me of the Magister a bit. This is totally how vampire politicians should look like :)
