True Blood is looking for a twenty to thirty-something knockout to play werewolf Alcide’s psycho ex-girlfriend, Debbie Pelt in Season 3, as reported by Michael Ausiello. So who comes to mind when you hear that she’s described as sporty and spiteful, with black hair that wouldn’t be out of place on an Afghan at a dog show?
Who did Ausiello choose? His choices are as follows:
Milla Jovovich: Though she’s the heroine in the Resident Evil flicks, haven’t her angular features and kickass bod always made you think “bitch on wheels”? Just me? Really? Well, she’s still been known to try out the odd shag from time to time.
Katharine Isabelle: How perfect an option is this Supernatural alum? She’s gorgeous, snarky, and in the first of the Ginger Snaps movies, she didn’t just play a werewolf’s honey, she played the werewolf herself. Top that, Shakira!
Shakira: Come to think of it, the hip-swiveling ”She-Wolf” might not be a bad choice for the role. Certainly, her animal instincts are the stuff of legend. Then again, how would Alan Ball feel about a Debbie who talks like Charo?
Sarah Brown: Though the Daytime Emmy winner just signed on to join The Bold and the Beautiful when her run on General Hospital is over, the CBS sudser is known to be cool about loaning out its cast — last season, they freed up Ashley Jones to play Daphne.
Krysten Ritter: Once Veronica Mars‘ classmate, this romcom perennial (27 Dresses, Confessions of a Shopaholic) often wears an expression that makes me think she’s one broken nail away from a meltdown. Please, please, please, can’t we break that nail and see what happens?
Katie Holmes: Okay, she finally got us to stop thinking of her as Joey Potter. Now she needs to get us to stop thinking of her as Mrs. Tom Cruise. Baring her metaphorical claws opposite a leading man with literal fangs might just do the trick.
Perhaps you think differently, and don’t like any of the above choices. Let us know who you think should play Debbie Pelt by leaving your comments?

I think Milla Jovovich or Kyrsten Ritter would be perfect for Debbie- looks wise. But I’m not sure how they’ll do with the acting like her. Quick question- WHY is Katie Holmes on this list? Really.

NONE OF THE ABOVE.
I hope they stick to the recipe of casting unfamilar faces.

I agree with Sterling…None of the above and for the love of everything NO KATIE HOLMES or SHAKIRA….No matter what. Stick with an unknown.

My first choice would be Kyrsten, she definitely has the look. Milla would be my 2nd.. I’m not that familiar with either so I can’t judge them for their acting. I’m with you Heather on Katie Holmes.. Whose bright idea was it to put her on here???? While we’re on the topic of who’s playing who, what we really want to know is who will be playing Alcide???

milla did a good job on that bruce willis movie, but that was long ago. she got married and had a baby i think. she’s hot though.

i was thinking more like christina ricci or rose mcgowen…

Maybe Krysten Ritter, but I say no to the rest. Milla might have the look, but I just can’t see her in it, I don’t know why. Katie Holmes must be the joke of the week. Although she may have the look, but she did play Joey(too sweet and adorable) and she is married to mr. crazy, so I just don’t think so….

Rose McGowan for sure. plus since Debbie had a bit of magic to her as well it would work.

Fairuza Balk.

ANDDD Fairuza Balk worked with Anna in Almost Famous!!

As I read the books I envisioned Selma Blair as Debbie. She can actually act and looks as described in the books. I don’t really know what any of the girls on the list could bring to the party.

I would cast Debra Messing for Debbie. Debra could pull it easily..

no. she looks fine, but she might try and touch stephen again, and i simply won’t have it. she had her chance!! this is a LOL, ok?

Sarah Brown is awesome, she’d get my vote. And while she’d be familiar to soap audiences, I don’t think many in the general viewing public know who she is (though she was a regular on Cold Case for about five minutes once).

Yes! I think Sarah would be perfect too. I watch her on General Hospital currently, and she’s definitely got “sporty and spiteful” down packed.

I am going to be the oddball and when I saw Katie Holmes’ name I thought that she would be perfect. She could be so shocking in this role and just blow us away with how goodie or evil Debbie Pelt can be. I pictured Debbie Pelt as the sorority bitch that can be so sweet and complimentary to your face and then turn around and stab you in back. Alcide obviously cared about her and was conflicted so there had to be a sweetness about her and then on the opposite, Debbie was so evil to Sookie.
Katie Holmes would be perfect for this role as I see Debbie Pelt. Don’t go with the obvious like ERW for Sophie-Anne. I am bored with the obvious. Give me something I am not expecting. :)
What worries me about the Debbie Pelt story-line is that it is going to be a rehash of the Maryann story-line and not only are we going be seeing the same thing over and over again each episode, but that it is going to be the same thing from season to season.

I definitely think Erica Durrance who plays Lois Lane on Smallville would be exceptional. This is Smallville’s last year and its already taped 9 episodes, so this would probably not be a conflict in scheduling. Erica is a wonderful actress, who also has the height, and kick-ass body to go along with superb acting skills.
Second choice would definitely be Jessica Alba or Jennifer Garner who already has had wire-work training for the leaps and bounds.

I suggested Sarah Brown months ago. I have watched her on General Hospital for years and she portrays an awesome b*tch. She has played two such women on the very same show. Her characters were the ones you loved to hate. She would be excellent as Debbie Pelt. Go Sarah.

we need a young susan lucci type. megan fox perhaps? kim kardashian? no, she might try and steal mr. hotness too. lets think about this. i guess she needs to be real young, huh?

I support Milla~

I’m still hoping they could get Parker Posey (if she wasn’t too old)

Honestly, i don’t think that any of the actresses mentioned in this article could or would be taken seriously, with the exception of Krysten Ritter–but even then it wouldn’t really work because although she’s definitely got that different look, she’s not that “Knockout” that the people over at True Blood say they are looking for. I cast my vote for Kristin Kruek!!!! :)
[Reply]
Kristin Kruek? is she the one that played Lana from Smallville?
well.. if she is then she definitely has my vote!
[Reply]
i hope Kristin Kruek is at least considered! i love her!!

NONE of those mentioned above ( didnt read comments so dont know what other names were thrown out) None of those women would be good. YUCK!
[Reply]
Ari Graynor…. cut and dye her hair and i think she would be perfect….
