Stephen Moyer is featured in Cosmopolitan Magazine’s April 2009 issue on their list for TV’s Sexiest Bad Boys, Page 62.
Vampire Bill Compton on HBO’s True Blood
“It’s a shame vampires can’t come out in the daylight, because we’d love more screen time of this guy with his shirt off. Pardon the somewhat cheesy joke, but Stephen Stephen really gets our blood pumping.“

I will try to find this magazine here :) I’ve always loved this picture. Maybe my husband will not care if I frame it and put it on the wall? :-P

Hahaha! I don’t think so at all, make it a goal for him to look like bill as much as possible ;) haha just kidding
[Reply]
Since episode 1 I’ve been thinking we need more shots of Bill with his shirt off!! :)
[Reply]
YUM! I wonder if it’s a full-page pic? I guess I’ll have to find the mag. Thanks for posting, Shad.
[Reply]
Yum, yum indeed!!! Thanks for the magazine pic, Shad!
[Reply]
He looks great! I’m so glad to see him getting some publicity! Looking forward to season 2.
[Reply]

Yowza, knows how to wear a pair of jeans indeed! Could the pants be any tighter???

SPOILER FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT READ HARRIS’ BOOKS
Our man Stephen is really getting to everybody, it appears. With all the attention he is receiving, and he should, I can’t believe for one second that Alan Ball will stick to Harris’ books and take him out of the picture. No way …………..
[Reply]
I don’t think so either. I’m pretty sure Alan will make it different
[Reply]
Shad you are my cuppa joe every morning! The world is finally discovering SM and giving him the credits due!
[Reply]
Becca and Sanna, I believe you are right, but shouldn´t we worry about Charlaine Harris´ opinion concerning so basic differences in the plot? ;)
[Reply]
Jeanne, no because I cannot see (just my opinion) True Blood going on season after season without Bill and Sookie’s complex relationship.
[Reply]
I think Alan Ball could follow some of the basics Charlaine set out but still not have Bill virtually disappear from the canvas – Stephen Moyer does have second billing on the show, after all. Just as Alan and his writers have increased the roles of Tara and Jason and Sam, they could also increase Bill’s role compared to the later books.
Believe me, I have my ideas about what should be left out/changed – I certainly hope he agrees with me! :)

As much as I love, LOVE, LOVE this photo of Stephen, I just don’t feel it’s his best. This came from the same photo shoot as the one for People. I personally thing the one of him on the leather couch is much hotter.

I agree Lou and also have to wonder how much contractual change flexibility AB has as well before it becomes a reinvention of CH’s ongoing story rather than based upon it. I did read that CH agreed with 90% of AB’s depiction so I would think they have discussed AB’s vision together.
[Reply]
Well, it’s Alan’s show and he can do whatever he wants with it, basically. Charlaine has no say in it. Wow, that sounds mean, but it’s true. And I’ve read that she likes the show and is OK with Alan doing his thing
[Reply]
Charlaine Harris likes the show because “I do believe” (said with a southern accent) she’s as much of a horn dog as the rest of us. She can’t help but be under the spell of the new, expanded, more sympathetic character, Stephen Moyer has created, under Alan Ball’s direction. And Cosmo is the right magazine to have more horney women jump on board the SM bandwagon. I hope that GQ is next!
[Reply]
Haha, Sanna, tell us how you really feel ;-)
I believe CH still owns the characters which is why you can’t even write fan fiction without a disclaimer statement to that effect. The devil would be in the details as they say.
I’m really torn. I saw season 1 before reading the books, then could not put them down. Love TV Bill but also love book Eric. Threesome anyone?
[Reply]
Yes, this is not the *best* picture of him… but I like it so much, and he looks young in it (which is a good thing since I read everywhere people thinking he’s too old for Anna).
I would love to see Bill break up with Sookie and have a relationship with another character ^_^ But I want them to end up together (Sookie and Bill), of course.
[Reply]
Of course we want to see more screen time with his shirt off :P. I think he looks handsome in this pic anyways.
[Reply]
we need more bill!
ill secound that
[Reply]
Ana, there you go! :) And for all we know, that may be what CH has planned for the books as well. I read recently that she was working on book 10.
[Reply]
True, Harris owns the right to her characters that’s in the books, but I’ve read that Alan has the right to do whatever he wants to do with them. If he wants to kill Bill(hehe) he can do it, if he wants to kill Sookie, he can do it. If he wa<nts to have Eric foinga sex change, he can do it. But of course he won’t do all these things, because he wants ratings, LOL. He CAN do whatever he wants, but he won’t. I’ve read an interview with him saying that when they are not doing like the books, then they will at least stay true to the SPIRIT of the books.
[Reply]
The Bill character in the books is not half as loveable as the character Stephen Moyer has created. There can be no way Bill and Sookie on the series can ever wind up like the books. I will just die!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
[Reply]
Yeah, they have changed Bill in the show from the books, so I think things will be different
[Reply]
Dear Lord All Mighty! HELLLLLOOOOOOO there Stephen! Isn’t he just the most lip-licking kind of guy you’ve ever seen!!! Geeez Louuuise He looks fantastic! YUMMY!
Drooling…. licking monitor…. heavy breathing…. more drooling….. cleaning chin & monitor with paper towel!
Thank you so much for sharing this! Is it any wonder I come to this site several times a day!
[Reply]
LOL, what a reaction, I love it! LOL

In an interview with Alan Ball I read somewhere, he described how a show he was working on (maybe Six Feet Under) had story lines that developed somewhat based on the dynamics of the actors/characters involved, rather than sticking to a prescribed plan for the story line. If he approaches True Blood in a similar way, he is going to capitalize on the dynamics of the first season, carried to a large degree by Sookie and Bill. Alan Ball is a very smart man and I would be surprised if he didn’t see the incredible onscreen chemistry of Moyer and Paquin and how compelling it is and continue to use their chemistry in his story line, even if it involves a large (or very much delayed) deviation from the book plot. I know that their romance is the major reason I watch the show.
[Reply]
Interesting
I usually don’t watch a show for the couple I ship, but in this case, I do. And with Chuck(Chuck/Sarah FTW! lol)
Alan has said that the show is basically a love story between Bill/Sookie and I’m sure he wiull break them up some time since this is TV afterall, but I’m very sure that these wo will end up together. Even the media loves them together. I don’t want Alan to listent o everything that the viewers think, I want him to go his own way, BUT I do hope he thinks about the ratings, because they are importnant. Without them, the show will die. I have faith in him. And the fac that Bill is Alan’s favorite is a good sign, hihi
[Reply]
Thanks Shad for the info. I guess I will be buying Cosmo, I never do but for Stephen I will make an exception. He is so hot and sexy, I believe that Alan will remember that and give him more scenes then the books call for. I know I am not the only one that feels No Bill/Stephen No True Blood!
[Reply]
How I read all the new comments, I am sure that when all of us believe in it (more Bill and Sookie interaction and that these two eventually will end up together), it must happen! :)
[Reply]
My what long fingers you have Stephen. Anyone notice? Does he play the piano?
Am I the only one who loves Book Bill? He is a true tragic hero. Having a TV Bill and a Book Bill different is the best of both worlds. I like to think of them as seperate entities. Since I was devastated by Bill’s almost non-existence in the later books (but has some of the most romantic lines and gestures), TV Bill has soothed my heart and soul. I think Bill will be in alot of touble this coming season. I wonder if the FOTS will find out that Bill turned Jessica. That’s a BIG deal, and she is only a teenager. Maybe someone else will take blame, Godric maybe?
CH has stated she no problems with the show and is still writing the Sookie series. DAG coming out May 5th, YIPEE!
[Reply]
Of course I have noticed his fingers, I often look at his hands and I’m not ashamed of it, hehe
[Reply]
Thank THe Lord for Great Eye candy..This man is so easy on the eye I could just look at him 24 hours a day. This man should have been noticed 15 years ago. He is the Hottest man out there(I think)right now..Ok!!Except for my hubby. But they look nothing alike. I like my candy in all forms.ahahha
[Reply]
Are you kidding? His fingers were the third thing I noticed in this pic. I’ll let you guess what the first two were. ;)
I keep forgetting to stop at the store and buy this magazine! I’m a bad Stephen fan, but will have it in hand before the end of the week – I vow it.
[Reply]
Gorgeous gorgeous hands, I noticed them too. The scene in the final episode of Season 1 where he is cradling Sookie’s face with his hands and kissing her? so gorgeous.

“Am I the only one who loves Book Bill? He is a true tragic hero.”
You’re not the only one. I’ve always liked him and now, after re-reading some of the books, I love him. He has some kind of Valmont (Dangerous Liasons) dramatic suffering. I love when he tells Sookie he has fallen in his own trap (or something like that). Even Sookie can’t mock him, though she tries to.
Team Bill forever!
[Reply]
i love true blood! Stephen is hot
[Reply]
OMG……….*THUD*. This man is so gorgeous and sexy and he is a great actor. I love TB and Bill and he is the only reason I started watching.
I *ahem* noticed his lovely hands a while back and they are just part of his beauty. To me, he’s beautiful from hair to feet. Just perfection personified, that’s all. Love him!
