Even more news indicating that we will finally get to see Stephen Moyer’s upcoming film – The Caller.  Recently we reported that it was being picked up by a Scandinavian distributor “Scanbox”.  Well now there is more good news for the film. Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions has nabbed North American rights to Matthew Parkhill’s supernatural ghost story.

Sale for the pic, which preemed at last month’s European Film Market, was handled by London-based international sales and production finance company Bankside Films.

The film centers on a troubled divorcee who begins to receive mysterious phone calls from an unknown caller, who it appears is calling from the past.

The pic, which was scripted by Sergio Casci, stars Rachelle Lefevre (“Barney’s Version,” “Casino Jack”), Stephen Moyer (“True Blood”), Lorna Raver (“Drag Me to Hell”) and Luis Guzman (“The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3″).

It was backed by Puerto Rico’s Pimienta Film Company and the Puerto Rican Film Commission, London’s The Salt Company and Alcove Ent., together with Bankside.

The deal was negotiated by Stephen Kelliher, head of sales and marketing at Bankside, and Lia Buman, VP of acquisitions at SPWA.

Bankside also announced sales on the film for Australia/New Zealand (Village Roadshow), Greece and Cyprus (Filmopolis), Latin America (Quality Films), Poland (Vision Film), Israel (Orlando Films), Middle East (Shooting Stars), Scandinavia (Scanbox) and Turkey (D Prods.).
