The DVD release date is Tuesday May 19 and Amazon has begun the shipping of the pre-ordered items.
Ten days ago I reported that the DVD and the Blu-Ray were doing very well on the Amazon sales lists. Sales have gone up since then and the DVD of True Blood The Complete First Season has now secured the number 1 spot in all its categories.

I checked 5 min ago and the bluray discs are in 3rd place of “Movies & TV : Blu-ray”
Hopefully this DVD’s/Bluray success will be translated to SEASON 3!!

Seeing that clip of the first episode of the first season makes me feel like this second season is going to be a bit darker. At least the promos make it seem so to me.
I had an email today from Amazon that my TB dvds were “on the way”! Can’t wait to revist our favorite southern town.

I plan to be at Best Buy when the doors open in the morning. Of course, then I have to go to work and can’t watch until I get home…but guess what I’ll be doing all evening??
Okay, laundry. But also watching TB goodness! Can’t wait. I think I’ll go for the commentaries first, then see what strikes my fancy.
ETA: Forgot to mention that I’m so glad the DVDs are selling so well. Hopefully tons will be sold and we’ll get a season 3 guarantee before season 2 begins. Wouldn’t that be awesome?

I got mine at Best Buy this morning! They were going quickly up front (several people grabbed them just during the few minutes I was standing there), but they had more back in the HBO section.
I got a free shirt with both the DVD and Blu-Ray versions, but sadly no Bill doll. And I had such plans for him…
