Yay! I too would have preferred Cold Ground and Sparks Fly Out. Cold Ground (IMO) was a real watershed episode. Fingers and toes crossed that TB progresses to the finish line and brings home the prize.

I think this is great! Best of luck to True Blood at the Emmy’s! I sure hope TB gets a nod, the show so deserves it. AND, let’s not forget Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. Anna has already seen some acknowledgment at the Golden Globes. I think it’s time for Stephen now, he so deserves to get some attention for his perfect portrayal of Bill Compton!

BTW: I do also love “No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency” – so warm and charming. I have been really so wonderfully surprised by this show.

SFO is Stephen’s showcase (back story) and PDA is Anna’s spotlight(single tear cry) I love how the True Blood Emmy is riding on their shoulders. Good Job, HBO!

  6. Drew says:

While Cold Ground is my favorite episode, I think HBO selected two of the top episodes of this series. In particular, these episodes cast favorable light on Stephen Moyer, as SFO is his backstory and PDA is the scene where he leaves for the tribunal. (However, PDA also has that V-induced wild romp with Jason and Amy that I didn’t like.)

  7. Sanna says:

Ooh, I just remembered that the Bill/Sookie bed scene after they found her cat is in the 9th episode and only that scene is worth an Emmy, lol So I guess they took the right episodes. Even though I still wanted them to take Cold Ground

  8. Lou says:

I love that Sparks Fly Out is included, but agree with others that the second ep (or one included in addition to these two) should have been Cold Ground. It was all around *the best* episode of the entire first season.

Plaisir d’Amour is good too, though, so I hope both eps included will entice voters to nominate TB in all categories.

yeah why no cold ground, that is utterly surprising, i think that episode has emmy written all over it. honestly i wanted episodes 2 & 6.

and stephen deserves a nomination. he is so good and his character is so complex. and he’s fine. do they have an emmy for being sexy???

What about a double nomination for Anna? she was amazing in The Courageous Heart of Irena Sendler, it’ll be very cool. Do anybody have news about CBS campaign for Emmys?

  11. Sanna says:

What are you talking about, I have already slept! LOL

I think everyone in this show is amazing, but those 4 is my wish too. Anna, Stephen, Rutina and Nelsan

HI, just wondering what your source is for the actors categories?
As I’m only seeing Sam and Ryan listed in the best supporting (drama) category (not Nelsan or Alex)
And Skarsgard for lead actor in a mini-series.

I know, they’re only submissions for consideration, but still…

I got that info from here

    Kay Reply:

They are campaigning Lois to be nominated for the guest actress category. Her name is above Adina Porter’s in the picture. (Lettie Mae)

  16. Buttercup says:

So glad to see Alex’s name submitted for both True Blood (Supporting Actor) and Generation Kill (Lead Actor). Now that Anna won the Golden Globe, it would be great for Stephen to go home with an Emmy.
