Is it unusual, Shad, that the title of an American TV show remains in English? I thought for sure it would be changed to Vero Sangue. Do the Italians like this type of show?

April 27th? What?? sputter…sputter… How is that possible? Were they ahead of the US with the first season airing as well?

Okay, okay..I re-read your post and I may have jumped to conclusions. Did you mean the first episode of the first season? That would make more sense. I keep forgetting that the show isn’t released world wide at the same time.

It’s…..different, but I like it! LOL

Dorothea, here in Brazil True Blood remained True Blood, not Sangue Fresco as in Portugal, but it’s a common thing here (Mad Men is Mad Men, etc.). It’s unusual, I think, for an European country not to change the name from English, but I guess it’s because the title is so good, related to one of the main aspects of the show (the fake blood)…

Thanks Ana. I always find it interesting that we are all sharing this affection for the show and it’s actors, and are from all over the world. … and I should have said Sangue Vero …as Shad already knows, my Italian sucks!

On April 27 the pilot will air in Italy, not season 2 of course.
Long movie titles are often translated or changed in Italy, but the name of a series often remains what it is and is not translated, if the title is short and easy to pronounce for an Italian.

Glad to see them promoting it. Can’t wait to see how they react. I don’t think I like the ad though. I’d rather see clips from the actual show. However, I suppose they know best.

I clicked on it but it seems that the video is no longer there. : – ((

I liked the promo especially the portrait of Vlad the Impaler (sp?) and the blood dripping from her fangs. For the first few seconds I thought the actress was Anna Paquin.
Hopefully it will suck in even more fans!
