Will Sookie throw over Bill for Eric?
Despite the fact that True Blood stars Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer are a rock-solid twosome in real life, the Bill-Sookie-Eric triangle was the question of the hour as the cast and producers of HBO’s vampire drama hit the Paley Center for Media’s 25th Annual TV Festival Monday night.
Happily, Blood boss Alan Ball and his stars, including Paquin and Alexander Skarsgård, dished to us exclusively on the red carpet about the Viking vampire getting a hot spotlight, who’s getting a serious beatdown, and who’s playing with the new supernatural creatures.
Moyer even told us his real feelings about that other man…Get our exclusive interview goodies and a sneaky peek of season two of HBO’s True Blood.
Alan Ball, Executive Producer
Anna won a Golden Globe for playing Sookie over the hiatus—what are you doing to up the ante and keep her challenged?
Anna loves it when she’s getting beat up or kicked or smacked around, and lucky for her, Charlaine Harris put a lot of that stuff in the second book.
Does Sookie interact with the new supernatural creatures much this season?
She spends the first half of the season focusing on vampires and vampire politics in Dallas, as sort of a favor to Eric, and she spends the last half of the season cleaning up the mess that some new supernatural creatures have created in her town—and she is pissed. She is not going to take it anymore.
And what changes about Eric this time around?
Eric has more of a presence in season two—you get a little of his backstory, you find out a bit of what’s important to him, what is meaningful to him, what makes him cry.
Alexander Skarsgård (Eric Northman)
How are you playing Eric differently this year?
Everything becomes more private and personal in season two. Season one the situation started out being kind of business-related, and his attraction to Sookie was “All right, I might use this.” But the stuff between them now is much more personal. He’s very much emotionally involved now. And I’m not just talking about his relationship between Eric and Sookie and Bill, but other things as well. A lot of the fans who have read book two, they know that the reason they go to Dallas is because Eric’s maker has gone missing. That’s a very, very personal quest for him.
What about reports that you’ll play Thor in the major motion picture version of Thor?
No, I don’t think so. I haven’t gotten the call, so…
Anna Paquin (Sookie Stackhouse)
What does the mission to Dallas mean for Sookie’s situation in Bon Temps?
I haven’t seen any further in the scripts than from when we come back from Dallas, so I don’t know what we’re doing in Bon Temps.
And does Jason get into trouble again this season?
He gets into different kinds of trouble this season, because he’s off with his church.
How are you feeling about the Bill-Sookie-Eric triangle right now?
It’s really only just sort of slightly hinted at, as of yet—we’re shooting seven right now. But Eric’s definitely sort of leering down from his height.
Stephen Moyer (Bill Compton)
How does Bill feel about Eric moving in on his lady?
That’s a good question. I’m not going to lie, when I see those little things in the script, those little moments when Eric’s pouting at her from across the room, I’m like, I’m going to have a word with that scamp later. It does make me step back a little bit and be upset, which is exactly how Bill reacts it as well…”F–ker.”
And now for a very special sneaky peek at True Blood season two. Check out the video below to see what badness happens when Sookie helps Jessica at Bill’s expense.

Thank you Shad! Awsome!

oh my. that was intense. i slightly felt sorry for sookie and jessica. but mad bill was kinda hot plus she did something foolish without thinking about the consequences. it’s great to see them act like a real couple. he totally has that old fashioned man pride when he says “oh she will come back”.
[Reply]
Interviews, clips, terrific, Shad. I’m in heaven!
[Reply]
Thank you…Thank you…Can’t wait for June 14:)
[Reply]
Is it wrong that I’m glad to see Bill be mad at Sookie for once? She got to yell at him almost non-stop last season (okay, that’s an exaggeration, but still)…so it’s good to see that they can do the give and take. I guess this is the lovers quarrel TV Guide mentioned? They said it was intense!
And now I’m ready to see the making up. Hopefully that’s the pic we saw of Sookie in the red t-shirt.
Stephen called Eric a “scamp”! LOLOLOLOL
[Reply]
lou i agree. she went off on him all the time last season and kissed sam. he loves her at this point but he is not going to let her get away with murder. he is probably mad the most because she endangered them all.
[Reply]
Oh I loved it really can’t wait for season 2 to start. No Lou it isn’t wrong for you to be glad that Bill is mad at Sookie. I am too, last season she was giving him one hell of a time. I am glad to see he is giving it back after, all as much as we love Bill he is a vampire and he has to act like one and get royally pissed at her and show it. Besides he a really good reason to do it.

Glad everyone had a great time last night ! I see our friend Andy got the sneak of S2 3minute clip ! Good Onya Andy ! It’s looks like it will be a great Series 2 !
Congrats to all our Billsbabes that attended all the events yesterday, last night and today !

Oh, it seems, one of our favourite speculations concerning Jesscia and the scene in wood, which goes before the t-shirt scene from Eric´s office was confessed… and well, the video sequence looked very expectable in the end.
In any case, I have to agree with you oppinions about the fact, Bill is mad at Sookie now. :)
[Reply]
LOVE this scene! Very very intense. I can understand both of them. I understand why Sookie wanted Jessica to see her family and I understand why Bill is angry. I’m not worried, though. It’s just a fight. And I LOVE LOVE Jessica! “She wants you to go after her! She wants you to go after her and kiss her and tell her that you looove her” LOL
And I love that Bill knows Sookie well enough to know that she would come back after she calmed down.
I like that the reason of the fight is different than in the books.
That article from E! was a good read too. I’m still not worried about a possible. Eric/Sookie up. Eric pouts at her from across the room?? Stephen, honey, nothing to be jelous of, that’s not even a hint
Adoreble, btw, that he got jelous, hihi
[Reply]
sanna i love that he gets jealous too, like bill haha. if she has a sex scene with someone else wonder how mad he’s gonna get. i’m sure he didn’t like her kissing sam twice either. but oh well it’s there job.
[Reply]
By the way, Alex says that Eric´s maker has gone missing – Should it really means that his maker is Stan or Farrell!? I don´t remember there is something about it in the books, moreover I always thought, Eric is the oldest from all these vampires. No, I can´t imagine Farrell as Eric´s maker.
[Reply]
Haha, yeah, if he gets jelous over some pouting, then if there’s a sex scene, he better stay away from the set that day, lol
[Reply]
I love that the reason Eric is in Dallas has nothing to do with Sookie. It’s a personal thing, hehe
[Reply]
She is a loaded gun, Sookie. Not a doll for you to DRESS up and play with.
***Guess he is pissed about Sookie agreeing to let Jessica wear the graveyard *ucking dress*** LMAO!!!
Intense scene. Love it. Me likey that Bill all manned up and is taking no Sookie-sh*t.
[Reply]
And he doesn’t take any Jessica-shit either! Noticed how she stopped whining when he told her of?? Wa<y to go, Bill! LOL
[Reply]
Sanna, but before you go to Dallas, two reasons are always better than one. :)

[Bill is recklessly driving Sookie's crappy car. Jessica is crying bloody tears in the backseat.]
S: Bill, cool down. Please… Stop that, you are scaring me.
[He pulls over...]
S: I’m sorry. She promised she was just gonna look in the window. I know I made a mistake, but… they are her family.
B: She is a vampire. She has no family.
J: I lost everyone I loved for EVER because of you. I hate you so f*cking much.
B: (Whispers.) Be quiet!
J: No Shit.
B: (louder- to Jessica) I said be quiet!
B: (to Sookie) You undermined my authority as a maker. You risked those people’s safety and your own. If I had not glamoured them within an inch of their sanity, all of our lives would have been shattered.
S: I know. I am sorry. ***Do you think AB read that we were pissed at Sookie for never saying sorry herself while training others the social etiquette?***
B: You keep saying that! And I am expected to do what? Forget this ever happened?
S: What else would you like me to say? I knew when she had asked me to take her, I should say NO but… all I could think about was Gran and… what I’d give to see her again. ***Does she have a gran flashback there, when Jessica asked to be taken to her family.***
B: That does not give you the license to behave like an irresponsible child. She is a loaded gun, Sookie. Not a doll for you to dress up and play with. ***Guess he is pissed about Sookie agreeing to let Jessica wear the graveyard *ucking dress***
[ Sookie storms out of the car.]
B: What are you doing?
S: Walking!
B: (getting out of the car) Don’t be ridiculous. Bon Temps is nearly 20 miles away.
S: I’d rather walk on than spend another second in that car with YOU! ***Stupid girl. What does she mean by YOU! Here Bill, can you give me a lift as Sookie is gonna go strolling to Bon Temps?***
[Bill gets back in the car]
J: (Hmphs…) Oh, she wants you to go after her. She wants you to go after her, and kiss her and tell her that you looove her. ***Righto girl!***
B: She will come back. When she calms down. She will come back. ***Uh, Men will be men.***

I gotta say that I LOVE Bill’s fast and angry driving, made me laugh, lol
[Reply]
Ooooo!!!! Love the sneak peak of season 2!!! Everyone looked great at Paleyfest, especially Alexander, Stephen and Anna!! Thanks for sharing, Shad!!!
[Reply]
Good to see Bill losing it and getting angry. At least for a short while, no more Mr. Nice Vamp. Great clip. Thanks so much for this. Makes me even more anxious for Season Two.
[Reply]
I’m sure this is the extent of Bill’s anger right here so I’ll enjoy it while I can. I’m assuming Sookie will be hurt again, so of course he won’t be angry with her after that. He already seemed to forget he was mad when he heard her scream.
I hope we get to see Bill glamouring Jessica’s family to “within an inch of their sanity.” Sounds hot! And Bill driving Sookie’s POS car like a bat out of hell cracks me up too, Sanna.
[Reply]
I got goose bumps from watching that. Bring on season 2!!!!
[Reply]
Thanks for the sneak! I soooo enjoyed it!

Does AS’s comments mean that Godric/Godfrey is Eric’s maker?
[Reply]
This clip actually makes me love Bill/Sookie even more, LOL. It was very couple-ish, kcouple fight like that. And like you guys have mentioned, I’m also glad that it’s Bill, for once, who is mad at her. It’s not just lovey dovey anymore, it’s intense and they fight and from the looks of the promo pics, they have romantic and very sweet moments too. Just the way I like it Bring on season 2! LOL
[Reply]
Shad thanks for putting this all together for us — hope you got some sleep!
Bill amazing — always fascinating to see how AL stretches the fabric of CH’s original story. I don’t remember anything about Eric’s maker from the books – but could he be referring to Godric?
Lou I loved the scamp reference to Eric as well — that SM has a way with words, I must say! Nowit’s almost harder to wait for season Two – it’s looking so good and intense

What a weird comment from S. Moyer about the Sookie and Eric thing….he made it sound like he’s really jealous!
[Reply]
Great article. Kim, I don’t think Stephen was being serious about his comment regarding Eric & Sookie. Stephen is a total cut-up and it’s not like he said “Alexander and Anna”… he was using the character names. Just my thoughts on that comment…. although, I do not think I could be an actor and watch my beloved making out with someone else… that has got to be tough especially when you really do love that person.
[Reply]
I think he was half serious, half joking. It’s only natural if you’re datinga co-star and they have romantic scenes of some sorts with another one.
He can also feel connected with Bill and feel jelousy through him
But what do I know what he ment, Stephen is turning out to be pretty craxy, the more you hear from him! LOL Apparently he was a riot at the Paley’s, haha
[Reply]
And I love him for it, hihi
[Reply]
[And I love him for it, hihi] 2
[Reply]
I also think he is being somewhat open about his feelings. I don’t think he is worried about Eric taking Sookie away from him but perhaps its more about Alexander taking his job. I just hope that if Allan Ball does follow the story line in the book regarding Eric and Sookie he also changes the plot enough to continue to allow Bill to have a significant presence in the series. I find his journey facinating and would hate to see it end or be minimized.
[Reply]
Eric’s maker? WTF??? I have read the books enough times to be able to recite them and NOTHING has ever been said/written about Eric’s maker. To whom does AB refer??
[Reply]
Hehe, I don\t think Stephen is worred that eh will take his job, think it was just a little natural simple jealouay
lofferic, Alan changes some stuff from the books. Everything won\t be the same
[Reply]
Why was the video removed? I am so disappointed…
[Reply]
@lofferic – we first didn’t know how Lorena turned Bill, there is nothing about it in the books, right? And the first season showed it. So now we will know how Eric was turned, and who is his maker. I think AB knows some part of the plot of the upcoming book, or he deliberately changed the story, to make it more interesting…
[Reply]
thank you who ever it was who explained the video…I cant get it to work!
Any help!!! PLEASE
[Reply]
Bummer that the video was pulled. I wonder if HBO asked to have it removed. …The video was great. It seemed like there were some interesting nuances in Bill’s voice when he was dressing Sookie down. He sounded deeply angry at Sookie, like he was mad at her for something else too. I don’t know, maybe that’s just my interpretation. And he was yelling at her inside a car, that’s harsh. Couldn’t help but wonder if some of this was setup to make Sookie soften and respond to another man/vampire stepping in and trying to court her.
[Reply]
I couldn’t get the video to work either. However, if you go over to the actual youtube site it will, hopefully, work there, at least it did for me. Great video, thanks Shad! I can’t wait for season 2 to begin! “June 14, can’t get here too soon!” And kudos to Bill for finally letting Sookie have it for once! It’s about freeking time!
[Reply]
Sorry about the video, things like that happen.
