Nice interview. Love all the info! It appears Alex still hasn’t lost his southern accent after wrapping up Straw Dogs! Thanks so much for bringing us this interview.

I’ve heard some folks say what you said, that you hear a southern accent, but I just don’t hear it at all. That’s so interesting to me–how we all hear something slightly differently. Do we hear an accent only if it’s different from how we ourselves speak?

To me (from the West coast, U.S.), he sounds just like everyone here and has a distinctly West coast accent, whether he’s playing Eric Northman or just doing an interview and speaking as himself.

Alex does sound like he has somewhat of a southern accent….But either way I think he is a great actor and he is doing a wonderful job with “Eric” but I must complain that I really do miss the hair.
