Giveaway Prize: a pair of Topaz earrings by jewelry designer Janet Cadsawan.
Janet Cadsawan has designed several pieces that were used on True Blood including Eric’s Viking buckle and Godric’s Thor hammer necklace. The topaz earrings that she donated to our giveaway are inspired by the Sookie Stackhouse novels in which Bill gives Sookie a pair or topaz earrings.
When I unpacked it, I found a black velvet jeweler’s box tucked in the side pocket. I wish I’d had the strength to keep from opening it, but I didn’t. Inside was a pair of topaz earrings, and a note that said, “To go with your brown dress.” From Living Dead in Dallas by Charlaine Harris
These lovely earrings are made of topaz with silver and brass and gold plated silver earwires.
In the Cadsawan online store you can find more True Blood related jewelry.
Prize ships internationally.
WOW!! Beautiful earrings!!! Such an awesome prize!
Bill abandoned Sookie in Dallas and when she arrived home (Alone) the earrings were in Sookie’s suitcase. Sookie didn’t want them and returned them to Bill and then awoke later to find them stuck in her ears.
Bill then began to date Portia in an effort to make Sookie jealous.
The earrings may be nice…but the story behind them certainly isn’t.
He gave her a present…. and he put them in her ears after hot steamy sex…. I see no harm there :)
Now I love the earring, they are really pretty, but again your ‘book facts’ are skewed.
Bill never put them in her ears after hot steamy sex at all.
Sookie returned the earrings in the daytime to Bill’s mailbox when she discovered he slipped them into her suitcase as an “Apology” for running out on her in Dallas without checking to see if she lived or died.
She awoke hours later, took a bath(bc she was sore from being beaten and almost raped in Dallas) and noticed the earrings stuck in her ears. Sookie was asleep and Bill creeped into her house and put them on her without her even being aware or waking. They were broken up at the time. It was not romantic or an endearing scene in Sookie’s POV. That’s all. :)
I see in your reply to Margaux, Shad that you never read the books. That explains it! :)
Better read the book again, because they did have sex before he put the earrings on her.
If you have never read the books, then maybe it would be wise of you not to state things that did not happen in them.
I did check my facts before making the post, they did have sex before he put the earrings on her.
Someone’s giving you bad info then because they were estranged when Bill put the earrings in her ears.
“So for over three weeks, that was what I did. I didn’t call Bill; he didn’t call me. I knew he was back from Dallas because he left my suitcase on my front porch. When I unpacked it, I found a black velvet jeweler’s box tucked in the side pocket. I wish I’d had the strength to keep from opening it, but I didn’t. Inside was a pair of topaz earrings, and a note that said, “To go with your brown dress.” Which meant the taupe knit thing I’d worn
to the vampires’ headquarters. I stuck my tongue out at the box, and drove over to his house that afternoon to leave it in his mailbox. He’d finally gone out and bought me a
present, and here I had to return it.”
I read the pages. He puts the earrings in her ears after he made love to her like a tasmanian devil after the football game.
The book is LIVING Dead in Dallas. If you’re gonna quote the books, it should be correct.
Never read the books, I’ll change it. thanks.
Bill can put those in my ears after hot steamy sex anytime :)
