Ryan Kwanten on Guardians of Ga’Hoole

Ryan Kwanten is back home in Australia to voice a character in the animated feature Guardians of Ga’Hoole.

Kwanten arrived in Australia a week ago and went straight to work in a sound booth at Sydney-based production firm Animal Logic, the masterminds behind the Academy Award-winning hit Happy Feet.

Ryan says he’ll be in good company when the movie, about a young barn owl and his friends attempting to escape the evil clutches of a band of rogue owls, is released in 2010, with Hugh Jackman and Hugo Weaving excepted to lend their voices to the film.

Guardians of Ga’Hoole, an adaptation of the 14 book bestselling kids series by author Kathryn Lasky and illustrator Richard Cowdry (the film is based on the first three books in the series). De Line described the tone of the film as more “Harry Potter” “than Happy Feet.”
