In order of appearance:

1. Steve Newlin is the new Nan Flanagan

How does a 4 month old vampire get such an important position with the Authority? Sure Steve has the gift of gab but could he really sway people’s opinions and make them believe that vampires want to mainstream peacefully coexisting with humans. Four months ago he was preaching hate toward vampires but now that he’s one he wants humans to embrace them. I wouldn’t trust him as far as I can throw him. Based on his first meeting with Roman he doesn’t trust Steve either. Will Reverend Newlin’s big mouth aid the Authority’s mission or be the end of his short life as a vampire?

2. Sookie Kicked Pam’s ass with her faerie powers

I love the new tough empowered Sookie. It looks like she’s finally getting tired of relying on men to save her. Talk about girl power! Seeing Pam fly through the air was a total WTF moment. I thought that Sookie was going to get her ass kicked. Pam looked so shocked and pissed off. A Pam and Sookie knock down drag out fight would be great to watch!

3. Nora is Sanguinista member

I have to say that at first I was shocked when Nora admitted to being Sanguinista. Although we don’t know much about her, Nora just didn’t strike me as someone who would cross the Authority. The more I thought about it the more it began to make sense. Nora had already lied to the Authority to save Eric and Bill. The writer in me took over and I started imagining many different reasons for her admission. She may have been telling the truth but she could just as easily be deceiving them yet again. I can’t wait until Sunday to see what happens!

4. Lafayette’s possessed

When Lafayette snapped at Arlene I just thought he was stressed out.  A lot has been going on in his life. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw him poor a whole bottle of bleach in the pot of gumbo. As soon as I saw that Lafayette’s reflection was the demon that once possessed Jesus it made since. I was shocked to see that the demon still inhabited his body. I assumed that when Marnie was forced out of Lafayette the demon she took from Jesus left too.  It looks like Lafayette’s life isn’t going to calm down anytime soon.

5. Tara goes tanning

Talk about fake and bake. When Tara got in that tanning bed and turned it on it was a total WTF moment. Tara isn’t taking being turned into a vampire well but I didn’t think she would try to kill herself. I wonder if Pam is going to let her go through with it. I really hope Tara’s time as a vampire isn’t short lived. She needs to pull it together and enjoy her second chance at life. Tara could be an awesome vampire if she learns to embrace it.

I don’t buy that Nora is Sanguinista. It seems too pat, and I think she’s lying to protect Eric. If any member of the Authority is Sanguinista, my money would be on Salome.

      I don’t believe it either.

I think neither Nora nor Salome are Sanguinistas. They are likely not on the same page as Roman but that doesn’t means they are Sanguinistas.

I think the kid is tho and he will be rooted out as a traitor (or used as a scapegoat to let Nora off the hook, something I see Salome planning) . The little kid dies in the next episode, just wait.

I don’t think she is necessarily Sanguinista, but she had nine of them waiting to take Bill and Eric away on the dock, according to Roman. She killed another vampire to help them escape. And she did say to Bill that some people appreciated his fight against the necromancers, but he was rewarded with a “true death” sentence, proving how “out of step” the Authority is. She has surely broken a lot of Authority laws, so I’m not sure how she can escape their punishment.

A WTF moment for me was Jason banging his teacher in past and present. Could have done without that scene.

I agree. That scene was squicky and added nothing to the episode.

It’s a good WTF though I disagree with it adding nothing to the ep., but I said my peace in Random Thoughts regarding Jason and molesting female teachers.

Great list. I would add: Bill and Lorena showing up in 1905 San Francisco and their meet up with Pam and Eric. I was so not expecting to learn that this is how Bill first met Pam and Eric. And we saw that he and Lorena were responsible for the brothel murders.

Also, a funny WTF for me was Andy showing up on Facebook courtesy of Holly’s delinquent sons.

I’m glad everyone enjoyed reading my top WTF moments. I had a hard time choosing just 5. I took notes as I rewatched True Blood and I had 8 or 9 listed. This episode was really great. I can’t wait for Sunday!

I was surprised and puzzled by Steve Newlin being the new Nan Flanagan. I’m not sure he’s up to the job. We may have been let in on the off-camera Nan,exposed to her snarky nature and her “don’t blame me” excuses for the Authority, but to the public, she was a darn good spokesperson. She looked professional, she had good screen presence, and I can see people taking her seriously. The opening scene of her on TV in S1, epi1 was impressive.
I am not convinced that Steve Newlin can be that authoritative with the general public. We’ll have to wait and see.

Hoyt going to Fangtasia in Gothgear looking for a vamp hook-up was one of my WTF moments. I’m still wondering was he hoping to see Jessica there or is he really looking for vamp action. Poor Hoyt! Bill was right in the beginning to want to protect him.
