True Blood Summer Sale Donations to Charity

True Blood Summer Sale Donations to Charity

summersalesquareYou may remember that in mid-August, just before the end of True Blood’s Season 6, we offered True Blood signed items for auction with the proceeds from each sale to be used to benefit our charities.

We are now happy to report that that all the auction items have been sent to and received by the buyers.  We have done the math to determine how much, less EBay fees, would be available to our charities and we can report our net total income from the Summer Auctions to be $938.00.

Lynn and I discussed how to divide up the amount we made on the summer sale and we both agreed that two of our long time charities, The Amanda Foundation and The Choroideremia Foundation were most worthy at this time.

  • The Amanda Foundation is a no kill animal shelter in Los Angeles providing safety and love to many homeless cats and dogs.
  • The Chroideremia Foundation is working to support the research being done to find a cure for the disease that our good friend EJ Scott suffers from.  Unless a cure is found it will mean the loss of EJ’s sight.

Our donation has been sent to both charities today, in the amount of $469.00/each.

Additionally, regarding our other summer time efforts, we have recently also sent $900 to the Clare Foundation from our Clare Giveaway and $78 to the Wolf Conservation Center from our auction of the Alcide related items.

We’d like to take this opportunity to say “Thanks” to all who bid and purchased the items we put up for auction or who helped us to publicize the summer sale.

Well done, Shad and Lynn, for breaking down the charity donations for us. And a big “thank you” to these two ladies for organizing everything and to all the contributors who made it happen.
