True Blood is the new HBO series created and written by Alan Ball (Six Feet Under, American Beauty).
The series is based on the Southern Vampire books by writer Charlaine Harris and shows us a mysterious and dangerous world where synthetic blood has made it possible for vampires to come out of the coffin and live openly amongst mortals. But not everybody is so thrilled about that.
The first season covers pretty much the first book (Dead untill dark) and focuses on the complicated lovestory between telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) and mysterious vampire Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer).
After seeing the first few episodes I started reading the books. I just finished the third book, but will not continue reading because the story is too far ahead from what we see in the tv show now. In this blog I will concentrate on the show and not on the books, althought Alan Ball follows the books closely, some characters and events are different.
